The reported reduction of Link Pharma Chem Limited’s FY 2021–22 GST demand to ₹16.3 lakh is not confirmed by the available reporting. Reports instead describe an original demand of ₹1,05,21,897, plus recovery of ₹11,29,639 in input tax credit, with applicable interest and penalties. The company was reported to plan an appeal, but its outcome has not been established.

What is known about the original demand

Reports say Link Pharma Chem received an order from the Assistant Commissioner, Central GST & Central Excise, Vadodara, concerning FY 2021–22. The order reportedly demanded ₹1,05,21,897 in GST and sought recovery of ₹11,29,639 in excess input tax credit (ITC), along with applicable interest and penalties. These are reported amounts, not confirmation of the final liability.

ScanX reported the order on 28 January 2026. A MarketScreener item attributed to S&P Capital IQ said the company received it on 27 January 2026. The underlying exchange filing was not available in the reporting reviewed here, so these dates and details remain secondary-source reporting.

Why the department reportedly raised the demand

The reported grounds were a mismatch between tax liability declared in GSTR-1 and tax paid through GSTR-3B, and excess ITC claimed on imports that was not reflected in GSTR-2A. These are allegations described in reports about the demand; the available information does not establish that an appellate authority affirmed them.

Was the demand reduced to ₹16.3 lakh?

The figure of ₹16.3 lakh is not corroborated by the available reporting or an official order or company filing. It should not be treated as the revised demand or final liability unless a later order or disclosure confirms it. The original reported GST demand, ITC recovery, interest and penalties are separate components; without the later document, it is also unclear what the claimed reduction would cover.

What Link Pharma Chem reportedly said about its response

ScanX reported that the company intended to appeal and considered the matter’s operational impact immaterial. The available reports do not establish whether the appeal was filed, whether an appellate decision was issued, or whether any amount was changed.

What would confirm the outcome

A later order from the relevant authority or an exchange disclosure from Link Pharma Chem is needed to verify whether the demand was reduced. Such a document should identify the authority and order date, distinguish the tax demand from ITC recovery, interest and penalties, and show whether the decision is final or remains appealable.
