Lingokids describes its app as “Playlearning” for ages 2–8. Its current product page reports more than 600 learning objectives across 1,200+ activities; those are company-reported catalog figures, not an independent count. Does Lingokids help children learn?
Lingokids’ research page summarizes studies connected with its app, including work on vocabulary, English learning and motivation, literacy, and classroom use. The summaries are useful evidence that learning outcomes have been studied, but they do not provide enough methodological detail to compare sample sizes, controls, or effect sizes across the studies.
One summary reports that preschoolers who played the “Shake-It Forest” game for under four minutes a day over five days had a 40% average vocabulary increase, and 93.75% of participating children improved. That is the result as summarized by Lingokids for its “Vocabulary Acquisition with the Lingokids App” case study; the page reviewed does not state the publication year. The same page describes research involving Universidad Iberoamericana and children ages 4–6, a California kindergarten literacy study, and a UCLan classroom study, but its summaries do not support a strong judgment about how large or durable the effects were. Lingokids also reports that 66% of children used learning apps to stay ahead academically in its 2024 Summer of Tech study. That is the company’s study finding, not a universal statistic about children.

What Lingokids Plus includes
According to the Help Center article updated October 2, 2026, Plus includes access to more than 4,000 activities, games, songs, and videos, plus parent-facing tools and features:
- Up to four child profiles.
- A Progress Center with information about a child’s activity.
- Screen-time limits that parents can set for each child.
- Offline downloads and favorites.
- Additional content, including Disney character and Oxford University Press activities, with new material added regularly.

Lingokids says subscription prices vary by country and by the offer available at the time. A promotional page reviewed for this article displayed US web pricing of $5.99 per month when billed annually and $13.49 for a monthly plan, alongside a crossed-out $14.99 reference price. On Apple’s US App Store, the listing describes recurring subscription billing and says auto-renew must be turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal under its stated terms. The company positions the app for ages 2–8, which includes two-year-olds, but an age range does not establish that every activity suits every child. For a toddler, consider whether the child can engage with the selected activity and whether you want to participate alongside them. Use the parent controls to set boundaries that fit your household rather than treating an app’s age range as a recommendation for a particular amount of screen time.
Safety, privacy, and screen-time considerations
Lingokids’ 2025 media kit describes the experience as ad-free and kidSAFE certified. Those are company statements; they do not answer every family’s privacy or safety questions. Apple’s App Store privacy disclosure lists categories that may include purchases, contact information, user content, identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics, and says practices can vary depending on features used or a child’s age.
