A direct damage kill can work, but it is riskier unless your team can burst Buffet down quickly.
Prepare for clashes, adds and a long fight
Build for reliable clash wins, enough sustain to withstand Bleed and L’Abject, and the damage needed to kill Le Rouge Senior Staff rather than merely stagger them. Strong E.G.O.s and area damage help, but no single status team or named Sinner is required. House of Spiders, Tremor Scorch, Heishou and The Middle are examples of workable team archetypes; their usefulness depends on your roster, investment and available E.G.O.s.

Meursault can be used to absorb attacks while other Sinners deal with adds, but treat that as an option rather than a required setup. Prioritize these team-building checks:
- Can your team consistently win the Memory-related clashes?
- Can it kill Le Rouge Senior Staff before they become a lasting threat?
- Can it sustain a longer encounter while managing Bleed and L’Abject?
- Does it have enough E.G.O. resources and useful status synergies for the fights ahead?
Phase 1: handle the Ripped Flesh and build three Memories
The encounter opens with Buffet and three Ripped Flesh of the Crimson God enemies. Damage the Ripped Flesh when spare attacks are available: their remaining HP affects the Senior Staff that appear later. Save stronger skills for the Staff, and prioritize killing dangerous ones when they arrive. Staff left alive can strengthen Buffet’s attacks, adding pressure alongside the boss.

Win Buffet’s important area-attack clashes, then use remaining actions on the boss. Avoid leaving a Senior Staff alive after only staggering it if you can finish it; the boss can respond in ways that make a surviving Staff costly.
Win Memory clashes with eligible Sinners
In Phase 1, winning the relevant La Jouissance clash advances Pwie’s Memories. A Sinner who wins that Memory clash loses Shared with Pwie and gains Decision. Track those statuses: a Sinner who has received Decision no longer counts as Shared with Pwie for checks that require the latter status, so that unit cannot keep contributing to the mechanic in the same way.

Buffet has attacks against units with Shared with Pwie that reduce the boss’s SP. However, the reduction is not an unlimited advantage: if Buffet’s SP reaches roughly -45, it resets. Use the opportunity to win clashes, but do not plan around driving SP lower indefinitely.

The guide describes two ways Buffet can enter Phase 2: reaching three Pwie’s Memories or falling below 25% HP. Unless your team is built to burst the boss down, make three Memories the intended transition point rather than relying on damage alone.

In Phase 2 the adds leave, Buffet gains more attack pressure and skill slots, and the Phase 1 SP-drain pattern ends. Keep winning the designated Memory clashes while watching the status effects on your Sinners.
Resolve the AoE and Counter carefully
Buffet’s area attack can apply L’Abject even when you win its clash. The boss also has a clashable Counter that reduces L’Abject stacks. If both appear in the same turn, resolve the AoE before triggering the Counter so the reduction follows the attack that applies the stacks.

Keep an eye on Bleed as well: L’Abject makes Bleed more dangerous, and five L’Abject stacks can trigger a powerful follow-up. The Prima Games walkthrough warns about that threshold; a Reddit community guide also describes repeated triggering in player reports, but those reports do not establish a confirmed current bug.

Finish through the Memory condition
Win the relevant Phase 2 La Castration clashes until you have five Memories, then win the final La Castration clash to end the encounter. Check which Sinners still have the status needed to advance the mechanic before assigning those clashes.

When a damage-focused strategy makes sense
Buffet can be defeated through direct damage, but the route asks more of your team: you need enough clash strength and burst damage to finish the boss before the increased Phase 2 pressure becomes difficult to manage. If your team cannot reliably do that, use the Memory progression as the primary win condition and treat damage as a way to control the fight and remove threats.
