Liliputing’s Oct. 1, 2026 roundup covers three separate developments: a Kindle refresh, Raspberry Pi price increases tied to component costs, and a restricted-function phone aimed at children. The clearest reported figures are a $150 starting price for the new entry-level Kindle and a $200 Freckle Phone with a $25 monthly service plan. The available report does not specify which Raspberry Pi models are affected or how much their prices changed.
What is changing with the Kindle?
Liliputing’s Oct. 1, 2026 indexed roundup summary says the new entry-level Kindle has a flush-front display for the first time and starts at $150. That is a US-facing detail attributed to Liliputing; the available official Amazon announcement is for Japan and does not establish US pricing or launch availability.

Amazon Japan’s Oct. 1 announcement describes a refreshed Japanese lineup with flat-front designs across its models. The listed range includes Kindle (16GB), Kindle (32GB), Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Colorsoft, and child-focused versions. Amazon’s Japanese prices are specific to that market and should not be used as US prices. The announcement said the 16GB model was available to buy and ship on announcement day; other models included preorders and scheduled shipments. Listed covers are sold separately.

The two reports support different claims: Liliputing’s summary identifies the flush-front design and $150 starting price for the entry-level Kindle, while Amazon Japan confirms flat-front designs for its refreshed Japanese range. The Japan release does not establish the US lineup, individual US model specifications, or US availability dates.

Why are Raspberry Pi prices rising?
Liliputing attributes the latest Raspberry Pi price increases to rising costs for RAM and other components. Its Oct. 1 summary does not identify affected models, regions, previous or new prices, or the size of the increase. There is therefore no basis in that report to treat the change as uniform across the Raspberry Pi range.
For context, Liliputing’s separate May 2026 archive summary said some models had seen price hikes of more than 100% over several months. That historical figure is not the amount of the Oct. 1 change, and it does not describe every Raspberry Pi model.

What does the Freckle Phone offer?
Liliputing describes the Freckle Phone as a $200 device with a 3.1-inch screen and a $25-per-month service plan. The roundup says it has no web browser, social media apps, or app store, making its limitations a central part of the product description rather than a minor specification.

The figures describe two different costs: the device price is $200, while service is reported at $25 per month. The available summary does not state the complete plan terms, whether taxes or fees are included, where the phone is available, or what carrier coverage it has. Those details should be confirmed before comparing its total cost or deciding whether it will work in a particular location.
