For Nintendo Switch 2, Lies of P: Complete Edition is available as an eShop download or a physical cartridge. Both editions include the base game and the Overture expansion. Choose digital for a purchase through Nintendo’s storefront; choose the cartridge if you prefer a physical copy or want its included lore cards. The iam8bit exclusive version also adds an O-sleeve.
What comes with each Switch 2 version?
Nintendo describes the Complete Edition as the base game plus Overture, a prequel expansion, along with post-launch quality-of-life updates, new difficulty modes, and new challenge modes. The iam8bit physical release is a Nintendo Switch 2 cartridge edition. Its standard retail version includes the full game, Overture, and six boss lore cards; the iam8bit exclusive version adds an exclusive O-sleeve. Nintendo UK’s listing and iam8bit’s product page describe the editions and included items.

Director Jiwon Choi said in a GamesRadar report of an RPG Site interview published 25 August 2026 that the team decided on a standard physical release with the full game on the cartridge when it decided to bring the game to Switch 2; the same report says the cartridge includes the base game and Overture. How big is the digital download?
Nintendo’s 2026 listings give different regional file sizes: 36.8 GB on the UK eShop page and 37.4 GB on Nintendo Australia’s page. Nintendo says eShop content downloads to the linked system and requires enough available storage, so check your own regional listing and console storage before buying. The difference between those listings does not establish that one regional version is definitively larger in practice.

How should you choose?
| Choose | It fits best if | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Digital download | You want to buy through the eShop and do not need a physical copy or the cartridge edition’s lore cards. | Allow for the storage required by your regional listing; Nintendo lists 36.8 GB in the UK and 37.4 GB in Australia. |
| Standard physical cartridge | You prefer a cartridge and want the six included boss lore cards. | The verified Complete Edition cartridge is for Switch 2. Check current local stock and price. |
| iam8bit exclusive physical edition | You want the cartridge edition’s contents plus its exclusive O-sleeve. | Availability and price can change; check the seller’s current listing. |
iam8bit displayed a price of US $69.99, Q4 2026 shipping, and sold-out status when its page was checked in 2026; it also lists Amazon and GameStop as retail links. That is a snapshot, not a live offer or a guarantee of retailer stock. Compare current local prices and availability rather than assuming the displayed amount applies in your region.
Does the cartridge need an update download?
The cited listings and interview coverage establish that the Switch 2 cartridge contains the base game and Overture. They do not establish whether post-launch updates require a download or whether every future patch is included on the shipped cartridge. If playing offline matters, confirm the latest cartridge requirements with the seller or publisher before purchase.

No. The physical-versus-digital comparison above is specifically for the Switch 2 Complete Edition. NEOWIZ’s support page lists the game for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Mac, Steam, and Epic Games Store, but the available evidence here does not establish a Complete Edition physical disc for PlayStation or Xbox. Fireshine Games announced original physical editions for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in March 2023; that announcement is not evidence of a Complete Edition disc for those systems.
Account and save behavior also varies by platform. NEOWIZ says a PlayStation purchase is compatible with PS4 and PS5, but save data does not transfer between them; Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S saves can sync. Nintendo Australia lists Save Data Cloud support for the Switch 2 version and says the feature requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. See NEOWIZ’s support information.
