The LiberNovo Omni SE keeps the range’s flexible, multi-panel Bionic FlexFit backrest but removes the motor found on some siblings, leaving lumbar adjustment manual. In GamesRadar+’s review, Alex Berry found it notably comfortable and praised its supportive backrest, but also reported narrow side wings, shifting accessories, warm fabric and noises from the plastic frame. It may suit people who value its unusual, responsive support; fit and those quality-of-use drawbacks deserve a close look before buying.
What the Omni SE is—and what the review found
The Omni SE is the non-motorized, less-featured chair in LiberNovo’s Omni range, according to Alex Berry’s GamesRadar+ review, published 21 September 2026. Its main distinction is the Bionic FlexFit backrest: a series of panels connected by joints that flex as the sitter moves. Berry found that the backrest reclined separately from the seat cushion and carried the armrests back with it, making the support feel responsive rather than like a conventional rigid back.

Berry used the chair as their main desk chair for several weeks of daily work, including sessions lasting several hours, and tried its assembly, recline, lumbar adjustment, headrest and armrests. Their findings are one reviewer’s hands-on experience, not a controlled comparison or a universal comfort verdict. Read the GamesRadar+ review.

How its support and adjustments work
Flexible backrest and manual lumbar control
The SE retains the articulated Bionic FlexFit backrest, while its lumbar support is adjusted manually with a reachable dial. Berry particularly liked the broad-feeling lumbar support. That positive impression is about how the chair felt to this reviewer; it is not evidence that the design will suit every body or provide medical or ergonomic benefits.

- Comfy Desk Chair Seat: Adapting 3.14" thick high-density foam to desk chair seat，double your comfort in daily work moreover high weight capacity 330 lbs for long-term durability. Wider seat provides a larger load-bearing area, enhancing overall support and sitting ease.
- Flexible Armrests: Move smoothly rounded PU-padded armrests forward or back and swivel them left or right to find the optimal arm position. Flip the armrests up when you want more freedom or to easily slide the ergonomic chair under the desk.
Recline limits, not fixed locking positions
Berry describes five recline stops spanning 105 to 160 degrees. These stops limit how far the chair reclines; they are not five fixed positions that lock the sitter in place. The review does not establish how those settings compare with the adjustment ranges of other Omni models.
Comfort, fit and seat depth
Berry’s overall impression was strongly positive: they found the chair comfortable over their several weeks of use and singled out its lumbar support. But the backrest’s side wings felt narrow to the reviewer, who cautioned that they may feel tight for people with broader frames. The review suggests considering the LiberNovo Maxis in that case; it does not provide a measured width comparison or establish that the Maxis will fit every broader user.

- High-Resilience Molded Foam Seat – Won’t Flatten After 1 Year – Instead of budget foam that hardens and sags within months, the seat is built with high-density, high-resilience molded foam that bounces back day after day. It maintains its shape and cushioning far longer, preventing the “bottoming out” discomfort common at this price point
- Adjustable Lumbar, Not a Fixed Afterthought – Unlike flimsy plastic supports that crack or lose tension, this chair features a durable lumbar mechanism that adjusts depth to match your spine’s natural curve. Genuinely relieves lower back pressure during long sitting sessions
- Breathable Mesh Backrest – No Peeling, No Heat Buildup – Say goodbye to flaking faux leather. The high-tension mesh back promotes continuous airflow, keeping you cool in warm environments and eliminating the mess of peeling upholstery. Mesh holds up significantly better over time and looks professional years later
- Anti-Sink BIFMA Certified Gas Cylinder – A common failure in budget chairs: the pneumatic cylinder loses pressure and slowly sinks during use. Our Class 3 BIFMA-certified gas lift is built to hold its height reliably, so your chair stays exactly where you set it—year after year. No more sudden drops or mid-work adjustments
- Heavy-Duty Metal Core Base (330 lbs Capacity) – Thin plastic bases can crack under stress, especially near the cylinder hub. We use a reinforced nylon base with a metal core, providing the durability and peace of mind you need. Smooth-rolling, 360° silent casters glide across hardwood, tile, or carpet without scratching or catching
There is an unresolved seat-depth detail in the review. It says the chair was offered with 45 cm and 48 cm seat-depth options, but Berry could not identify which version they tested; the cushion on their sample measured 54 cm from front to back. Those figures describe different information in the review, and the sample’s configuration should not be inferred from its measurement. Check the exact configuration and dimensions of the chair being sold in your region before ordering.

Drawbacks reported during use
Fabric and temperature
Berry describes the upholstery as micro-elastic fabric and says it ran warm during a UK heatwave and collected debris. Those are observations from the reviewer’s conditions, not a general temperature rating. The review recommends considering the Omni Pro for people who run warm, citing its built-in fans; it is not a complete side-by-side test of the two chairs.

Armrests and headrest
The armrest height could be adjusted, but Berry found that its rotation and lateral position did not lock in place. They also reported that the headrest slipped when pressure was applied. These issues matter if you expect accessories to stay firmly set while you move or lean on them.
Foam and frame noise
The seat foam felt soft initially and softened further during extended sessions, according to Berry. The reviewer also heard creaking, rubbing and settling noises from the chair’s largely plastic structure. The chair has a nylon star base, as described in the review. These reports identify potential comfort and finish tradeoffs, but do not establish how every sample will perform over time.

Who should consider the LiberNovo Omni SE?
- Consider it if flexible back support and manually adjusted lumbar support appeal to you, and the reviewer’s positive comfort experience sounds relevant to your needs.
- Check fit carefully if you have a broader frame, given the reviewer’s report that the side wings felt narrow and their suggestion to look at the Maxis.
- Compare alternatives if you tend to run warm, since Berry pointed to the fan-equipped Omni Pro, or if you need armrests and a headrest that remain firmly positioned under pressure.
- Confirm the exact listing before paying: the review leaves its own test sample’s seat-depth option unresolved, and its quoted prices are not current-price guarantees.
These are considerations drawn from one review, not a controlled head-to-head assessment of the Omni SE, Omni Pro and Maxis. Berry’s full review at GamesRadar+ includes their account of testing and the chair’s adjustments.
