LG’s AI-Powered Forecasting Tools: What EXAONE BI and AEFS Do—and What Cho Has Said

LG AI Research’s latest financial forecasting work centers on EXAONE BI and its AI-Powered Equity Forecast Score (AEFS), which gives a four-week stock-movement forecast with explanatory commentary. LG CEO William Cho’s cited remarks, however, concern LG’s broader AI strategy and customer experiences—not these financial tools. The distinction matters: LG has described the products and partnerships, but the available announcements do not establish independent forecast accuracy or public access terms.

What are LG’s AI-powered forecasting tools?

EXAONE BI, short for EXAONE Business Intelligence, is a financial AI system developed by LG AI Research. Its AEFS product uses EXAONE BI to generate a score for an individual stock’s expected price movement over the next four weeks, accompanied by commentary explaining the rationale. LG AI Research describes AEFS as part of a system in which multiple agents collaborate on data analysis, reasoning, forecasting, and commentary generation.

That description is LG’s account of the product’s design. It does not by itself demonstrate that the score predicts prices accurately or that the explanatory commentary independently verifies the forecast.

How does LG say its stock forecasts are produced?

In its Korean-language announcement, LG describes agents with roles that include gathering and curating information, forecasting market and economic trends, identifying key factors and anomalies, and comparing scenarios before producing a final score. LG presents the commentary attached to a forecast as an explainability feature: users receive a stated rationale along with the score. These are company-described system roles, not independently validated findings about how well the system works.

LG reports that AEFS analyzes approximately 8,000 stocks listed in South Korea and the United States each day, including about 2,500 Korean-listed stocks. Those are company-reported coverage figures, not independently verified counts. The four-week horizon is the stated forecast period for an individual stock’s expected movement; it should not be read as a promise that the score predicts the size or direction of a move reliably.

What did William Cho say about AI forecasting?

LG Electronics CEO William Cho has spoken about LG’s broader approach to AI, but the cited remarks do not specifically address EXAONE BI or AEFS. At LG’s CES World Premiere on January 6, 2025, Cho described an “Affectionate Intelligence” vision built around connected devices, AI agents, and integrated services. LG quoted him saying: “At LG, we’re seamlessly integrating AI into physical living spaces around us. We see space not merely as a physical location but as an environment where holistic experiences come to life – across the Home, Mobility, Commercial and even Virtual spaces.” His remarks referred to AI-enabled experiences across physical and virtual spaces.

At LG World Premiere in January 2024, Cho discussed LG AI Brain as a system intended to forecast customer needs from interactions with products and contextual learning, then coordinate devices to provide solutions. That is customer- and device-oriented personalization, not stock-market forecasting. The available event accounts do not show Cho personally introducing or endorsing EXAONE BI or AEFS.

Which partnerships and services has LG announced?

KOSCOM: a planned Korean-market service

On July 7, 2026, LG AI Research and KOSCOM announced an agreement to develop an AI prediction and analysis service for the Korean stock market, combining EXAONE BI with Korean financial-market data. This is a planned collaboration; it is distinct from AEFS sales and investor services described in LG’s other announcements. LG’s account of the agreement describes the intended market and system.

LSEG and Kiwoom Securities: an investor-service effort

In an April 14, 2026 release, LG AI Research said it was pursuing an explainable AI investment service for individual investors with London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Kiwoom Securities, including investment insights and wealth-management AI solutions. The same release said LG AI Research and LSEG had been selling AEFS scores and reports to global investors earlier in 2026. The announcement does not provide public pricing, a signup route, or detailed access terms.

The KOSCOM project and the LSEG/Kiwoom effort should not be treated as one already-available retail service. The announcements describe separate collaborations and do not establish when or how an individual investor can access either service.

What is—and is not—known about forecast performance?

The available announcements describe the system’s design, stated coverage, and commercial activity, but they do not provide an independent accuracy benchmark or an audited investment-performance record. They also do not establish that AEFS beats a market index or is suitable as standalone investment advice. A score with an explanation may help a user understand what the system says informed a forecast; it is not proof that the forecast is correct.
