LG’s 2025 gram announcement covered several laptop families and configurations—not one laptop with every headline feature. The gram Pro 16Z90TS pairs Lunar Lake with on-device AI and a variable-refresh-rate (VRR) LCD, while other models use different processors, displays and graphics. VRR can make supported refresh rates more adaptable, but it does not prove a laptop can run demanding games smoothly.
Which 2025 LG gram models have Lunar Lake?
LG’s 2025 range included gram Pro, gram Pro 2-in-1, gram and gram Book models. In its announcement, LG identified Core Ultra V-Series processors with Lunar Lake and H-Series processors with Arrow Lake. LG positioned V-Series around AI-oriented experiences and H-Series around traditional PC performance; those are the company’s descriptions, not independent performance comparisons. LG’s December 2024 announcement is the source for the initial lineup and its specifications.

gram Pro 16Z90TS: Lunar Lake and VRR
LG identified the 16Z90TS as the first Copilot+ PC in the gram series and a Lunar Lake model. Its announced configuration has a 16-inch WQXGA LCD with 31–144Hz VRR. LG also listed this model at 0.49 inches thick and 2.73 pounds. Those are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent measurements, and regional configurations may differ. LG’s product documentation can help check a particular specification, but match the exact regional model and SKU.

Other models use different combinations
The 17Z90TR was announced with an Arrow Lake processor, a 17-inch WQXGA LCD with 31–144Hz VRR, and RTX 4050 graphics. The gram Pro 2-in-1 16T90TP is a different kind of machine: a 16-inch OLED convertible with 48–120Hz VRR, Intel Core Ultra H-series options, integrated Intel Arc graphics, and 16GB or 32GB memory configurations according to LG’s specification sheet. Do not assume the 2-in-1 has the Pro models’ discrete RTX graphics. LG’s specification documents are the relevant reference for its configuration.

What does LG mean by local AI and cloud AI?
LG described two separate gram chat modes. gram chat On-Device processes data locally without a network connection and uses a small language model derived from LG AI Research’s EXAONE large language model. LG described features including Time Travel, which can revisit recently used web pages, documents, videos and audio.
gram chat Cloud is a separate, cloud-based option that LG said is powered by GPT-4o and integrated with calendar and email services. LG’s original announcement described the cloud service as free for the first year; that was an announcement-period offer, not confirmation of current terms. The distinction is practical: local processing is designed to work without a network connection, while the cloud mode depends on cloud services and whatever terms currently apply.
Does VRR make a 2025 LG gram a gaming laptop?
Not by itself. Variable refresh rate lets a compatible display adjust its refresh rate within a supported range, which can help the screen track changing frame rates. LG listed 31–144Hz VRR for the 17Z90TR and 16Z90TS LCDs, and 48–120Hz VRR for the 16T90TP OLED. These are model-specific display specifications, not promises that a game will reach those frame rates.

LG’s announcement and specification material do not provide independent gaming benchmarks for these models. The 16Z90TS’s Lunar Lake configuration and the 16T90TP’s integrated graphics should not be conflated with the discrete-GPU gram Pro configurations. To judge gaming suitability, check the exact laptop’s graphics processor and independent results for the games and settings you care about; VRR alone cannot establish performance.
Does the gram Pro have an RTX 4050 or RTX 5050?
The answer depends on the model and announcement. LG’s initial December 2024 announcement named an RTX 4050 for the 17Z90TR. In a later announcement on July 16, 2025, LG introduced updated 16Z90TR and 17Z90TR models with RTX 5050 graphics and Intel Core Ultra 9 (Series 2) or Ultra 7 processors. LG specified 32GB of memory and a 2TB SSD for those announced configurations. The update said sales would begin that day at LG.com, with authorized retailers to follow; that historical launch timing does not establish current stock or price. LG’s July 2025 RTX 5050 announcement describes the later configurations.
LG also claimed up to 27 hours of video playback for the later RTX 5050 gram Pro configurations. That is the manufacturer’s stated claim, not an independent battery test. Do not carry the RTX 5050 specification over to every 2025 gram Pro listing, or combine it with the original RTX 4050 announcement as if both describe one configuration.

What to check before choosing a model
Compare the exact regional SKU—not just a family name or retailer headline—with its matching LG specification sheet. Processor, GPU, display and memory options can vary, and model names that differ by only a few characters may refer to materially different configurations.
- Processor: Confirm the exact SKU and whether it uses Core Ultra V-Series (Lunar Lake) or H-Series (Arrow Lake).
- Graphics: Establish whether the configuration uses integrated graphics or a discrete GPU, and verify whether its RTX specification is 4050 or 5050.
- Display: Check LCD versus OLED, screen size, and the VRR range for that precise model.
- Configuration: Verify memory, storage, battery capacity and weight for the regional version being sold.
- Price and availability: Treat the 2025 launch prices, promotions and availability announcements as historical; check current listings directly.
LG’s executive YS Lee described the range as “2025 LG gram products, featuring advanced gram AI, are powerful, portable productivity companions that can understand users’ needs, intelligently utilize relevant information, and enhance workflow.” That is LG’s positioning, not independent validation of product performance.
