If both are discounted, choose by the format and connections your equipment uses, then compare the delivered price of the exact model. The 2025 US 55-inch LG OLED evo C5 (OLED55C5PUA) supports Dolby Vision; the 2025 US 55-inch Samsung S90F (QN55S90FAFXZA) supports HDR10+ and lists 4K/144Hz input on all four HDMI ports. Those differences can make one a better fit for your setup, but the specifications alone do not establish an overall picture-quality winner.
Which exact 55-inch TVs are being compared?
This comparison is limited to the US-market 2025 55-inch LG OLED evo C5, model OLED55C5PUA, and Samsung S90F OLED, model QN55S90FAFXZA. They are both 55-inch-class 4K OLED TVs. Check the full model number on the listing and product box: specifications and suffixes can differ by region or between models in the same brand lineup.

Which TV fits your HDR content?
The clearest format distinction is Dolby Vision versus HDR10+. LG lists Dolby Vision for the C5, while Samsung lists HDR10+ for the S90F. If you regularly watch content or use devices that support one of those formats, that compatibility may be a practical reason to prefer the corresponding TV. Check the services and playback devices you actually use; the format names alone do not establish which set will look better in your room.

LG also lists Dolby Atmos on the C5. Samsung’s cited S90F specifications list HDR10+ and do not establish a matching audio-format comparison, so this should not be read as a claim that the Samsung lacks a particular audio feature.
What do the HDMI and gaming specifications show?
| Feature | LG C5 (OLED55C5PUA) | Samsung S90F (QN55S90FAFXZA) |
|---|---|---|
| HDMI connections | Four HDMI 2.1 ports; eARC is on HDMI 2 (LG product page) | Samsung lists HDMI 1–4 as supporting input up to 4K/144Hz (Samsung product page) |
| Refresh-rate and VRR features listed | Up to 144Hz gaming and VRR; LG also lists NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium (LG product page) | Input up to 4K/144Hz on all four HDMI ports (Samsung product page); the cited specifications do not establish a directly comparable VRR feature list |
Both sets document high-refresh gaming support, but the listed specifications do not prove that one has better gaming performance. Match the connection details to your equipment: check the output resolution and refresh rate of your console or PC, how many HDMI inputs you need, and which port you plan to use for an eARC soundbar or receiver. On the C5, LG identifies HDMI 2 as the eARC port.
How should you compare Amazon sale prices?
Use the price and terms shown on the day you buy. Amazon stock, offers, and sellers can change, and an old deal report is not evidence of a live discount. Compare the same exact model and size, and look at the delivered total rather than a crossed-out list price.

The launch prices are historical reference points, not current-sale targets: LG Electronics USA listed a $1,999 launch MSRP for the 55-inch C5 in its March 11, 2025 2025 OLED evo lineup announcement, while Samsung Electronics America listed a $1,799 launch price for the 55-inch S90F in its 2025 OLED introduction. Samsung’s US product page previously displayed $1,199.99 against $1,799.99, but that volatile manufacturer-site observation is neither an Amazon offer nor a guaranteed current price. Tom’s Guide reported an Amazon deal for the 55-inch S90F on February 26, 2026; that is historical marketplace context, not a live offer (report).
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose between the LG C5 and Samsung S90F
- Choose the C5 if: Dolby Vision support is important for the content or devices you use, or the C5’s listed four HDMI 2.1 ports, eARC placement, or VRR feature set better suits your setup.
- Choose the S90F if: HDR10+ support matches your viewing setup, or you value Samsung’s documented 4K/144Hz input support on all four HDMI ports.
- Choose by sale value if: neither set has a format or connection advantage that matters to you. Compare their live delivered prices and purchase terms for the exact US model.
These are fit-based decision rules, not a measured ranking. No independent head-to-head test established here supports declaring one model the better picture-quality choice. LG describes the C5 as having “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color” certifications and Brightness Booster technology in its March 11, 2025 announcement; those are LG’s own product claims, not independent comparative findings.
What else should you check before ordering?
If wall-mounting the C5, LG specifies VESA 300 × 200 compatibility for the 55-inch model. Confirm that the mount supports the TV’s pattern and follow the TV’s installation instructions. Verify mount compatibility separately for the S90F; the cited Samsung specifications do not establish its mounting pattern.
