If your LG TV won’t download an app, first check whether the app is available for your TV’s country, model, and webOS version. Then confirm the TV is online, signed in to an LG Account, has required User Agreements accepted, and has enough internal storage. These checks address the main causes LG identifies and should come before a factory reset.
First determine whether the app should be available
If one app is missing or will not install while other apps work, check compatibility before changing TV settings. Search the LG Content Store using your TV’s country and model, and check the webOS version required by the app. LG says availability varies by country and TV model; an app may not be offered for your particular combination.

If every app fails to install, or the TV reports a connection, account, agreement, or storage problem, continue through the checks below.
Check the internet connection
Confirm the TV is connected to the internet over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If the connection seems unstable, testing Ethernet can help distinguish a network problem from an account or app-availability issue; a wired connection is a diagnostic option, not a fix for unsupported apps, country settings, or low storage. LG’s installation guidance includes both wired and wireless connections.

Verify LG Services Country
Check that LG Services Country matches the TV’s actual location. LG says choosing “Other” or a different country can affect app installation. On 2021-and-later TVs running webOS 6.0 or later, the path in LG’s current guidance is Settings → All Settings → General → System → Location → LG Services Country. Menu labels and paths vary by model, region, language, and webOS version; 2020-and-older models use different instructions. LG’s 2026 guidance places webOS 26 models under System → Location.
A country change does not guarantee access to every app. LG says apps and services are tied to the country where a TV was sold, and products used outside their original purchase country may have limited services. Availability can also depend on model and webOS compatibility. Use the LG Content Store availability guidance rather than assuming a region change can overcome those limits. Sign in and accept the required agreements
Sign in to an LG Account from the user icon on the TV’s Home screen. LG notes that some apps may be unavailable when the TV is signed out. Also confirm that required User Agreements have been accepted; without them, apps may not work as expected.

Free internal storage if the TV says it is full
If you see an insufficient-storage message, remove apps you no longer use through the TV’s Home or Edit App List screen. LG identifies deleting unused apps as the way to free space for installation. The cited guidance does not establish external storage as a way to install apps on the TV.

If the app is supported, the TV is online, the country and account settings are correct, agreements are accepted, and storage is available, a reset is a later troubleshooting step. LG warns that Reset to Initial Settings deletes account settings and installed apps. Use the reset instructions for your TV’s webOS generation, and be prepared to set the TV up again. If the problem persists, use LG’s support options through its installation and deletion guide.
