To change an LG hotel TV to HDMI, press Home, open Input, and select the HDMI port your device uses. If the remote has no Home button, press Settings and look for the Input icon. Hotel TVs can have property-managed settings, so contact the front desk if HDMI is missing or unavailable.
How to change the input to HDMI on an LG hotel TV
- Connect your device to an HDMI port on the TV, if the room permits guest devices and the port is accessible. Turn the device on.
- On the LG remote, press Home and select the Input icon. If there is no Home button, press Settings and look for Input. Menu labels and paths can vary by model. LG’s general webOS connection guide describes this route.
- Choose the HDMI entry for the port you used, such as HDMI 1. The selected input must match the port number where the cable is connected.
- If the screen says there is no signal, check that the device is powered on and the cable is fully seated. Confirm which HDMI port the cable uses, then select that input. LG’s receiver connection instructions likewise require selecting the HDMI input connected to the device.
Where is the input button on the LG remote?
Some LG remotes have a dedicated button labelled Input, Function, or Source; LG says these labels refer to the same general control. That does not mean every hotel remote has one of them. If you do not see such a button, try Home → Input or Settings → Input instead.

Why can’t I select HDMI on the hotel TV?
The TV may be using a hotel-specific configuration, or the remote may not provide guest access to input selection. LG’s hospitality materials describe property-side tools for managing TV settings, but they do not establish whether a particular hotel allows guests to use HDMI. Ask the front desk to select or enable the input rather than changing installer or hotel-management settings yourself. LG’s hospitality information describes management features for specified systems, not the configuration of your room.
What if the TV switches away from HDMI by itself?
A connected device can sometimes trigger a source change through SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC). LG’s September 28, 2026 support article discusses this behavior on standard models and notes that settings vary; it is a possible troubleshooting lead, not a hotel-specific diagnosis. Does every LG hotel TV use the same menu?
No. LG’s webOS instructions are general guidance and say steps may differ by model. Hotel TVs are model-specific products with their own support pages and manuals, so button names and available controls can differ. If the usual input route does not work, hotel staff are the right point of contact.
