The LG C6 is a 2026 OLED TV, but the available evidence does not establish what its colors looked like during a particular person’s week-long test—or which Mini LED TV it was compared with. Those details matter: room lighting, content, picture mode, screen size and the specific competing model can all change the impression. The C6’s color performance is worth evaluating, but one comparison cannot settle whether OLED is better than Mini LED in general.
What the LG C6 is—and which model the specifications describe
LG identifies the 65-inch OLED65C6PUA as a 2026 OLED evo AI C6 4K Smart TV on its U.S. product page. For that model, LG lists 3,840 × 2,160 resolution, a 120Hz native refresh rate, VRR up to 165Hz, Brightness Booster, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and FILMMAKER MODE. Gaming features listed include NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent measurements, and should not be assumed to apply identically to every regional model or size.

LG’s page also describes the set as having “Over 8.3 million self-lit smart pixels with Perfect Black and Perfect Color technology.” That wording is LG’s product-page claim, not an independent test result. Self-lit pixels help explain the OLED design, but the phrase alone does not establish how accurate or appealing the C6’s colors will look in a given room.

A week of viewing can reveal whether a TV’s picture suits its owner and typical content. But a defensible account of that experience needs the actual comparison details: the C6 size and region, the Mini LED model, room brightness and reflections, picture modes, and the content viewed. Without those specifics, claims that the C6 changed someone’s opinion about color—or that OLED outperforms Mini LED—cannot be verified or generalized.

For a useful comparison, keep the viewing conditions as consistent as possible. Compare the same scenes on both TVs, note whether either is in a vivid or accuracy-oriented picture mode, and check whether room lighting or reflections favor one screen. Consider dark scenes, bright highlights, saturated colors and off-angle viewing rather than relying on a single colorful demo clip. The goal is not to declare a category winner from one impression, but to see which actual model works better for your room and viewing habits.
OLED versus Mini LED depends on the models and room
Mini LED is a broad category, not one fixed level of brightness, contrast or color performance. The relevant question is how the C6 compares with a named Mini LED set under comparable conditions. Room brightness and reflections, black levels and blooming in dark scenes, HDR highlights, viewing angle, screen size, gaming needs and price all affect the decision.

TechRadar’s comparison of the C6 with the Sony Bravia 7 II RGB Mini LED reports a reviewer impression that the C6’s peak brightness was higher than expected. That is a model-specific observation, not evidence that OLED is brighter than every Mini LED TV. TechRadar’s C6 coverage should be read in that context. What Hi-Fi also discusses the C6 in the competitive brightness context, but that does not establish a universal OLED-versus-Mini LED result. What Hi-Fi’s C6 coverage provides that broader context.
How much better is the C6 than the C5?
RTINGS characterizes the 2026 C6 as a very good overall TV and describes its brightness increase over the C5 as slight. That points to an incremental brightness step rather than a dramatic generational leap on that measure; it does not predict what every viewer will notice with every scene or picture mode. RTINGS’ C6 review supplies the reviewer context.

TechRadar places the C6 above LG’s entry-level B6 and below its flagship G6 in the 2026 lineup, and reports improvements in color accuracy, brightness and performance. Those are the reviewer’s assessments, not a guarantee that every owner will perceive the changes equally. TechRadar’s review discusses that lineup position and performance.

What to check before choosing a 65-inch TV
- Confirm the exact model: LG’s cited specifications are for the U.S. 65-inch OLED65C6PUA. Verify the relevant regional and size-specific product page before relying on those details.
- Match the room: If daytime viewing and reflections are central concerns, compare the particular TVs in lighting like yours. Category labels alone do not determine which set will suit the room.
- Compare the scenes you watch: Use familiar films, sports or games, including both dark material and bright highlights. Look for blooming, shadow detail, color rendering and off-angle changes.
- Check gaming requirements: For the 65-inch U.S. model, LG lists 120Hz native refresh, VRR up to 165Hz, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. Confirm that the exact model and your connected equipment support the features you need.
- Weigh price against the improvement: The cited review coverage describes the C6’s brightness gain over the C5 as slight. Whether that matters depends on the price difference and the other features you value; no current transaction price is established here.
