Wccftech reported on October 2, 2026, that Lexar PLAY PRO microSD Express cards in 256GB and 512GB capacities were discounted on Amazon, with prices starting at $79.99. The report called them the cards’ lowest Amazon prices, but that price-history claim and the checkout price have not been independently verified here; Amazon prices and availability can change.
What the Amazon deal report says
Wccftech’s October 2, 2026 report covered the 256GB and 512GB Lexar PLAY PRO microSDXC Express Card variants, giving a starting price of $79.99 and describing discounts of up to 20%. Its “lowest prices” wording is the publication’s characterization, not an independently reconstructed price history. Check the Amazon listing for the current price, stock, and seller before buying.

Which capacity should you consider?
Lexar lists the PLAY PRO in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacities. The October deal report covers only the 256GB and 512GB options, so compare those variants by the price shown at checkout and how much storage you need. The report’s starting price does not establish the current price of each capacity.
Lexar announced these original MSRPs on April 2, 2025: $49.99 for 256GB, $99.99 for 512GB, and $199.99 for 1TB. Those are historical launch prices, not current Amazon prices.

Check device compatibility and speed expectations
PLAY PRO is a microSD Express card. Lexar identifies Nintendo Switch 2 as a use case, and Best Buy describes the 256GB model as compatible with that console. Confirm that the device you plan to use supports microSD Express before purchasing; compatibility and performance depend on the host device.
Lexar advertises speeds of up to 900MB/s read and up to 600MB/s write. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent benchmark results. Lexar qualifies the 600MB/s write maximum as achievable when paired with its microSD Express card reader, so do not assume every device or reader will reach it.
