The original Lenovo YOGA Tablet 10, model B8000, stood out for a cylindrical battery that doubled as a grip and a built-in stand. Lenovo’s 2013 specifications explain the appeal—and the trade-offs: a 10.1-inch 1280 × 800 display, 1 GB of RAM, and Android 4.2 at launch. Those facts make it possible to assess the design on paper, but they do not establish how fast, comfortable, or capable the tablet feels in use today.
What is the Lenovo YOGA Tablet 10?
Lenovo announced the original YOGA Tablet on October 29, 2013. Lenovo’s support page identifies the YOGA Tablet 10 as model B8000. Its specifications varied by region and configuration, including Wi-Fi and 3G versions, so the figures below describe Lenovo’s documented product rather than every individual unit.

Lenovo listed a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor: MT8125 for the Wi-Fi configuration or MT8389 for 3G. The tablet had 1 GB of RAM, a 10.1-inch IPS display at 1280 × 800, and 16 GB or 32 GB storage options in Lenovo’s 2013 specification sheet. Lenovo’s B8000 overview lists 16 GB storage.

The tablet’s cylindrical battery formed a thicker edge that could be held as a grip, while an integrated stand supported hold, stand, and tilt positions. Lenovo described the concept as “The Yoga Tablet’s innovation lies in the unique handle design of its cylindrical battery, enabling three different usage modes – hold, stand and tilt, each offering a unique and beneficial way for users to interact with their tablet.” That is Lenovo’s promotional description, not independent evidence of how comfortable or useful those positions were in practice.

- 8GB DDR3 Memory
- 256GB Solid State Drive
- 14" 1920x1080 Touchscreen Display 360° Axis
- Windows 10 Pro x64
Lenovo listed the tablet at 605 g. The unusual shape and stand are therefore central to understanding the product, but the specifications alone cannot determine whether its weight distribution or form factor worked well for a particular reader.
What did the battery-life claim mean?
Lenovo advertised “up to 18 hours” in 2013. Its stated mixed-use protocol combined 2 hours of video, 2 hours of MP3 playback in standby, 2 hours of Wi-Fi browsing in tilt mode, and 12 hours of reading in hold mode. Lenovo cautioned that actual battery life varied with brightness, apps, settings, battery age and conditioning, and user preferences. This is a vendor result under a specified routine, not an independent measurement or a claim about a B8000’s battery after years of use.

What can the specifications tell you about the tablet today?
The documents show the original design intent and hardware limits, but they are not a present-day performance test. The display resolution, 1 GB of RAM, storage options, and old Android baseline are relevant considerations for anyone evaluating a B8000 now. They do not, on their own, prove how a particular unit performs, what apps it can run, how its battery holds charge, or whether it is worth buying.
For a used unit, verify the exact model and configuration, installed Android version, battery condition, and the functions you need before relying on it. Lenovo’s stated maximum storage expansion is 64 GB; its sheet also mentions an additional cable for USB on-the-go charging. The documented specifications do not confirm present-day accessory fit, replacement-part availability, or app compatibility.
