Choose the Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 if you want the lighter tablet, a sharper 3:2 144 Hz display, Wi‑Fi 7, DisplayPort output, and a compact productivity setup. Choose the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ if you prefer a larger AMOLED screen, an S Pen in the box, IP68 protection, or a 5G version. Neither is a universal winner: the Lenovo is the more portable, high-density work-and-creation tablet, while the Samsung is the larger, more self-contained entertainment and mobile-work device.
The figures below compare Lenovo’s Yoga Tab Gen 2 specifications and 2026 announcement with Samsung’s published India 5G Galaxy Tab S10+ specification. Storage, cellular bands, accessories, prices, availability, and update schedules can differ by country and exact model.

Buy the Lenovo when carrying weight, a laptop-like aspect ratio, fast refresh, or wired monitor output matters most. Buy the Samsung when screen size, OLED contrast, water and dust resistance, or an included stylus matters more. Compare the final package price only after checking each local listing: Lenovo’s keyboard availability varies by region, and Samsung’s keyboard cover is an extra purchase.

These are manufacturer specifications and estimates, not a controlled head-to-head test. In particular, the battery figures use different test descriptions, and no comparable independent performance benchmark is established here.

Display: sharper Lenovo panel or larger Samsung AMOLED?
Lenovo’s 11.1-inch 3:2 IPS/LTPS screen
The Yoga Tab Gen 2 uses an unusually tall 3:2 aspect ratio at 3840 × 2560. That is 8:5 rather than the widescreen shape common on video-focused tablets. Documents, web pages, sheet columns, PDFs, and split-screen apps get more vertical space, so less scrolling is needed when the tablet is held in portrait orientation. The 144 Hz refresh rate can make scrolling and pen movement look more fluid than a 60 Hz panel, provided the software and app support the higher rate.
Lenovo lists 98% DCI-P3 coverage, Dolby Vision, 600 nits typical brightness, and a 1,100-nit peak. Typical and peak figures are not interchangeable: the peak value generally applies to limited portions of compatible HDR content rather than the entire screen. IPS/LTPS technology can deliver high sharpness and smooth motion without OLED’s risk of permanent image retention, but blacks will not have the same pixel-level darkness as AMOLED in a dim room.
Samsung’s 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X
The Galaxy Tab S10+ gives you a 12.4-inch 2800 × 1752 Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. Its larger diagonal is useful for movies, games, art canvases, and two apps side by side, while the AMOLED construction produces very deep blacks and strong contrast. Samsung also specifies an anti-reflection coating, a practical advantage under overhead lights or near windows. Samsung’s comparison page states a 650-nit peak brightness for the S10+; that is a peak claim, not a promise that the whole panel stays at 650 nits continuously.
Which screen is better for your work?
- Choose Lenovo for small text, long documents, coding, portrait reading, fast scrolling, or a 3:2 canvas that feels closer to a compact laptop.
- Choose Samsung for maximum physical viewing area, films, games, dark-room contrast, and situations where anti-reflection treatment is more useful than pixel density.
- Do not treat resolution alone as a verdict. Lenovo has more pixels and a faster refresh rate; Samsung has a larger AMOLED image and an anti-reflection surface. Viewing distance, app layout, and lighting determine which advantage you notice.
Size and portability
Lenovo lists an approximate 480 g weight and a 250.60 × 172.98 mm footprint in its PSREF. Samsung’s cited India 5G model weighs 576 g and measures 285.4 × 185.4 × 5.6 mm. The 96 g difference is noticeable in one-handed reading or when the tablet is carried with a charger and keyboard. The Samsung is also physically larger, but that extra area benefits split-screen work and video.
Neither weight figure includes every possible case, keyboard, or regional accessory bundle. A keyboard cover can change both the packed weight and the way the tablet balances on a lap. If you commute with the tablet daily, compare the complete travel setup rather than the bare slate.
Performance, memory, and storage
What the published hardware says
Lenovo specifies a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s with either 8 GB or 12 GB of soldered LPDDR5X memory. Storage options are 128 GB UFS 3.1 or 256 GB UFS 4.0, and the microSD slot is listed for cards up to 2 TB. The faster UFS 4.0 storage is tied to the 256 GB option in the cited specification, so verify the exact configuration before ordering.
Samsung lists an octa-core processor and 12 GB of memory for the cited 256 GB 5G model, with CPU speeds of 3.4, 2.8, and 2.0 GHz. Its page lists microSD expansion up to 1.5 TB. A card is not included simply because the tablet supports one; budget for compatible storage if you need more room for video, offline maps, or large creative files.
Why there is no honest performance winner here
Chip names and clock speeds do not establish real application performance. Thermal limits, graphics drivers, storage configuration, Android build, and the app itself all affect results. No directly comparable independent benchmark is available for these two tablets in the information used for this comparison. Treat both as capable modern Android tablets, then choose memory and storage according to your workload rather than assuming one processor is faster.

- SMARTER BEATS, GREATER JOY – The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 brings together a pro speaker system, vivid 12.1" 2.5K Dolby Vision display, and AI-powered features like Live Transcript for immersive entertainment you can enjoy anywhere.
- SMOOTH MOTION, MORE ROOM – Games and videos load buttery-smooth thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor and zippy 120Hz refresh rate.
- VISUALS BUILT TO PULL YOU IN – Watch your favorite scenes come to life with sharper detail and brighter contrast. The large 12.1” 2.5K display glitters with 800nits brightness, HDR10 support, and Dolby Vision that enhances media with more highlights and depth.
- FLEXES TO FIT YOUR MOMENT – The Tab Plus Gen 2 has a 360ᵒ spin kickstand that allows you to tilt and rotate freely so you can comfortably watch or scroll.

- 8 GB Lenovo: reasonable for reading, streaming, note-taking, and ordinary multitasking.
- 12 GB Lenovo or Samsung: the safer choice for large documents, frequent app switching, desktop-style browser tabs, drawing applications, and longer ownership.
- 256 GB storage: preferable if you keep games, downloaded video, or project files locally. The Lenovo 128 GB version uses UFS 3.1, while its 256 GB version uses UFS 4.0 according to the cited PSREF.
Battery life: compare the tests, not just the numbers
Lenovo lists an 11,000 mAh typical battery and estimates 15.12 hours of YouTube streaming and 12.88 hours of web browsing under its internal test conditions. Samsung lists a 10,090 mAh typical battery and estimates up to 16 hours of wireless video playback. These are different activities and different laboratory descriptions: YouTube streaming is not identical to Samsung’s wireless-video test, and web browsing is more variable than a continuous video loop.
The figures therefore cannot identify a reliable runtime winner. Brightness, refresh-rate mode, cellular signal, speakers, background synchronization, codec, and temperature can move real endurance substantially. Use the battery capacities as context, not as a promise. Lenovo has the larger rated capacity; Samsung’s published video estimate is higher under its own stated conditions.
Connectivity: Wi‑Fi 7, 5G, and external displays
Lenovo’s wireless and wired advantages
The Yoga Tab Gen 2 specification lists Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Its USB-C port supports USB 5 Gbps, charging, and DisplayPort output, which makes a compatible cable or dock a practical route to an external monitor. The referenced configuration has no WWAN, so it is a Wi‑Fi tablet rather than a device with built-in mobile data.

The cited Galaxy Tab S10+ specification is for an India 5G model. It lists Wi‑Fi on 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB 3.2 Gen 1. A 5G radio can be decisive if you work away from Wi‑Fi, but cellular bands and SIM or eSIM support are model- and market-specific. Do not generalize the India configuration to every Galaxy Tab S10+ sold elsewhere; check the model number and supported bands before purchase.
Which connection setup fits?
- Pick Lenovo if Wi‑Fi 7 compatibility, DisplayPort monitor output, or a Wi‑Fi-only setup is central to your desk.
- Pick the cited Samsung 5G model if you need mobile data without tethering, subject to local carrier compatibility.
- For either tablet, confirm the port standard of your monitor, hub, cable, and charger. A USB-C connector alone does not guarantee a particular display mode or transfer speed.
Pen and keyboard: calculate the complete setup
Lenovo accessories
Lenovo lists the Tab Pen Pro 2 and Yoga Tab Gen 2 Keyboard as accessories. The keyboard’s availability varies by country or region, so a tablet advertised as compatible may not include the keyboard in the box. Confirm the retailer’s contents, language layout, warranty, and delivery date before treating Lenovo as a ready-made laptop replacement.
Samsung accessories
Samsung includes the S Pen with the cited Galaxy Tab S10+ model. Its Book Cover Keyboard Slim is sold separately. That lowers the initial cost of handwritten notes compared with a tablet that requires a separate stylus, but a keyboard-equipped Samsung setup costs more than the bare tablet.
What to check on the product page
- Read the “in the box” section for the exact model and region.
- Confirm whether the pen is included, merely supported, or sold as a separate accessory.
- Check the keyboard’s language layout and whether it is bundled, discounted, or unavailable.
- Add the keyboard, pen, case, charger, and storage card to the total before comparing prices.
Durability and water resistance
Samsung states that the Galaxy Tab S10+ and included S Pen are IP68-rated under IEC 60529 laboratory tests, including up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Samsung advises against beach or pool use and notes that resistance can diminish with wear. IP68 is not permission to charge a wet tablet or expose it to salt water, chlorinated water, pressure jets, or repeated abuse.
Recommended Free Tools
The Lenovo PSREF information used here does not establish an IP rating for the Yoga Tab Gen 2. Do not assume water resistance from its construction, marketing images, or a protective case. If your work regularly involves kitchens, workshops, travel in heavy rain, or accidental spills, Samsung has the documented protection advantage.

Lenovo’s announced plan
Lenovo announced the Yoga Tab Gen 2 with Android 17 at launch, seven OS upgrades through Android 24, and up to seven years of security updates through 2033. “Up to” describes the company’s stated plan, not a guarantee that every country, carrier, or configuration receives each update on the same day.
Samsung’s published date
The Samsung India product page for the cited model lists security-update validity through October 31, 2031. That date applies to the specified India model and should not be silently extended to every regional SKU. Samsung’s update timing can also vary by market and carrier.
How to interpret the difference
Lenovo’s announcement reaches farther on the stated end year, while Samsung provides a specific security-support date for the cited model. If you plan to keep the tablet for many years, save the exact model number and purchase region with your receipt; support promises are tied to those details, not just the product family name.
Price and availability: avoid false comparisons
Lenovo described €649, including tax, as estimated starting pricing and gave September 2026 as expected availability in its announcement. That is not a verified current street price, and it should not be used as a universal price for every country or memory configuration. Local taxes, distribution, launch timing, and accessory bundles can change the amount substantially.
The Samsung figures in this comparison come from an India 5G product page, but no single current price is established here for every market. Check the live listing for the exact storage, cellular radio, included charger and pen, warranty region, and return policy. A discounted Wi‑Fi Samsung model is not directly comparable with a full-price 5G model, and a Lenovo bundle with a keyboard is not comparable with a bare Samsung tablet.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which tablet should you buy for specific uses?
For travel and commuting
Choose the Lenovo if the tablet will spend hours in a bag or in one hand. Its published 480 g weight and smaller footprint reduce bulk, while the 3:2 display is efficient for documents and web pages. Choose Samsung if the larger screen is worth carrying 576 g and you expect to watch more video than read portrait documents.
For handwritten notes and drawing
Both product families have a manufacturer pen path. Samsung is simpler at checkout because the S Pen is included with the cited model. Lenovo offers the Tab Pen Pro 2, but confirm whether it is bundled locally. The Lenovo’s 144 Hz panel may make strokes and scrolling feel especially fluid; Samsung’s larger AMOLED canvas gives drawings more physical room.
For films and games
Samsung’s 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, deep blacks, and anti-reflection coating favor immersive viewing. Lenovo’s 144 Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support are attractive for compatible games and HDR video, but its 3:2 shape leaves wider video content with more unused space than a widescreen-oriented tablet.

For office and study work
Lenovo’s 3:2 ratio, very high pixel count, optional 12 GB memory, and DisplayPort output make it the more distinctive desk companion. Samsung gives you more physical screen area for split windows and an optional keyboard cover, plus 5G in the cited configuration. Decide whether external-monitor output or cellular independence matters more.
For outdoor, workshop, or spill-prone use
Samsung is the safer documented choice because its tablet and included pen carry an IP68 claim with explicit test limits. Lenovo’s cited specification does not establish an IP rating, so treat it as unprotected from water unless your local documentation says otherwise.
For maximum local storage
Lenovo lists microSD support up to 2 TB, compared with up to 1.5 TB on the cited Samsung India model. Verify card compatibility and the exact regional limit, and remember that neither figure means a card is supplied.

A purchase checklist before you pay
- Write down the exact model number, storage capacity, memory, and Wi‑Fi or 5G designation.
- Confirm the display specification and weight for that SKU rather than relying on a family-level listing.
- Check the box contents: S Pen, charger, keyboard, cable, and regional plugs.
- For Lenovo, verify whether the Yoga Tab Gen 2 Keyboard and Tab Pen Pro 2 are actually stocked in your country.
- For Samsung 5G, check supported bands and carrier certification in your region.
- Confirm microSD capacity limits and buy a compatible card only if needed.
- Check the warranty territory, return window, and update-support statement attached to the model.
- Compare the complete cost of tablet, keyboard, pen, case, charger, and storage rather than the tablet price alone.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Assuming the battery estimates are a lab shootout
They are not. Lenovo’s 15.12-hour YouTube and 12.88-hour web figures and Samsung’s up-to-16-hour wireless-video figure describe different tests. Use them as manufacturer guidance, not a ranked battery result.
Assuming every S10+ is the India 5G model
Cellular bands, memory, storage, and even included accessories can change by country. Confirm the SKU before relying on 5G or any India-specific specification.
Assuming the Lenovo announcement price is today’s price
€649 was announced as estimated starting pricing, including tax, with expected September 2026 availability. Check a live local listing for a current amount.
Assuming a USB-C port guarantees monitor support
Lenovo’s cited specification explicitly lists DisplayPort output; a generic USB-C port on another device may not. Verify the port mode, cable, dock, and monitor requirements as a set.

A case may reduce scratches or splash exposure, but it does not change the tablet’s manufacturer rating. Samsung’s IP68 claim has laboratory limits, and Lenovo’s cited specification does not establish an IP rating.
Final recommendation
The Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 is the better buy for a reader who values portability, a high-resolution 3:2 workspace, 144 Hz motion, Wi‑Fi 7, DisplayPort, or the option of a 2 TB microSD card. Verify local availability and the keyboard bundle before committing.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ is the better buy when a larger AMOLED display, an included S Pen, documented IP68 protection, or a 5G configuration is the priority. The detailed numbers here describe Samsung’s India 5G model, so match the recommendation to the exact regional SKU. If neither set of priorities dominates, compare the complete accessory-inclusive prices and the support terms offered in your country.
