What these laptops are—and why the model names are not enough
The Yoga Pro 9i Gen 11 Aura Edition and Asus ProArt P16 are families of creator laptops. A retailer can use the same family name for systems with different processors, NVIDIA GPUs, memory, SSD capacity and displays. Prices and availability also change by country and SKU. A comparison that calls one “the Yoga Pro 9i” and the other “the ProArt P16” without listing those parts can produce a false winner.

The practical split is clear. Lenovo’s Gen 11 design emphasizes a high-brightness creator display and pen/force-pad interaction. Asus emphasizes a camera-friendly port selection, 4K OLED touch, stylus support and a physical DialPad control. Graphics performance depends on the exact RTX tier and its power limit, while value depends on matching memory, storage and screen specifications.

Display and input: Tandem OLED versus 4K OLED touch
What Lenovo’s Tandem OLED adds
Lenovo’s headline option is a 16-inch 3.2K PureSight Pro Tandem OLED panel with HDR and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. “Peak” is a highlight figure rather than a promise that the entire screen remains at 1,600 nits continuously. HDR mastering, color work and bright-window viewing can benefit from the panel design, but check the exact panel listed on the SKU you are buying.

The Gen 11 Aura Edition supports the Yoga Pen Gen 2. That makes handwritten notes, masking, retouching and illustration more natural than mouse-only editing. Lenovo also builds its creative-input story around a force-pad-style input design. If you frequently scrub a timeline, draw selections or make fine adjustments with a pen and pressure-sensitive gestures, those controls may matter more than a raw resolution difference.
What Asus’s 4K OLED touch system adds
The PCWorld-reviewed ProArt P16 uses a 3,840 × 2,400 OLED touchscreen. TechRadar also lists stylus support and ASUS DialPad controls. The DialPad gives a physical or touch-integrated rotary control for actions such as brush size, timeline scrubbing or exposure adjustments, provided the application supports the assigned shortcuts. It is most useful when you prefer a tactile control beside the keyboard instead of a pen-first workflow.
A separate 2026 Tom’s Guide review covers an RTX Spark variant with a 4K OLED touchscreen, 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600-nit peak brightness. It weighs 3.9 pounds and starts at $2,799 in the United States or £3,299 in the United Kingdom in the configurations described there. Treat that as a newer refresh, not proof that every ProArt P16 has those specifications; verify whether a listing is the RTX Spark model.

Which screen and input approach fits you?
- Choose Lenovo’s option when HDR brightness, the Tandem OLED implementation, Yoga Pen Gen 2 support and force-pad interaction are central to your work.
- Choose Asus’s option when a 4K canvas, touch and stylus input, and a DialPad are more useful than Lenovo’s pen-and-force-pad design.
- Do not infer color accuracy, refresh rate or sustained brightness from the family name. Those values must come from the exact display SKU.
GPU and application performance: match the whole configuration
The most important performance mistake is comparing GPU names without their power limits. The ProArt configuration reviewed by PCWorld uses an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU rated up to 105W. TechRadar’s Gen 11 review identifies an RTX 5060 option. An RTX 5060 and RTX 4070 are not interchangeable simply because both are current laptop GPUs; cooling, wattage, memory and the application’s workload change the result.

For GPU-accelerated effects, 3D work and high-resolution video exports, list the exact RTX model and stated maximum power beside the processor. A lower-tier GPU can be the better purchase if it comes with more RAM, a larger SSD or the display you actually need. Conversely, a higher GPU tier may justify a premium for CUDA-accelerated effects or 3D rendering, but only if the laptop can sustain its configured wattage.
Memory and storage are part of performance
The reviewed ProArt P16 pairs a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with 32GB of LPDDR5X and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. TechRadar lists ProArt options with 64GB RAM and 2TB storage, while PCWorld lists a 64GB model at a higher price. The Lenovo material does not establish one universal RAM or SSD capacity. Match those capacities before comparing prices: a 64GB system can be worth more to large photo catalogs, virtual machines or complex timelines than a small GPU step.
For either family, 32GB is a sensible floor for demanding creative applications, while 64GB gives more headroom for 4K projects, high-resolution stills and simultaneous applications. Treat those as workflow guidance, not a claim that every SKU can be upgraded; confirm whether memory is soldered and whether the SSD is replaceable on the exact model.

Ports, cards and external displays
Asus has the clearer documented advantage for photographers and videographers. The reviewed ProArt P16 includes USB4, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7 and an SD-card reader. That combination lets you ingest camera media, connect a legacy USB device and drive a modern external display without immediately buying a dock. HDMI 2.1 is particularly useful when your monitor or television needs the newer standard.

The Yoga Pro 9i’s exact port mix varies by configuration and region in the supplied specifications. Read the manufacturer’s port diagram for the precise SKU rather than assuming that a similarly named unit has an SD reader or the same USB standard. If your workflow starts with a camera card every day, the presence of a built-in reader can outweigh a modest CPU difference.
Port checklist before ordering
- Confirm that the listing names an SD or microSD reader if you need direct camera ingest.
- Check whether the USB-C port is USB4, Thunderbolt-compatible or a slower USB mode.
- Verify HDMI version and the maximum resolution/refresh combination for your monitor.
- Count the number of USB-A ports for drives, calibrators, audio interfaces and other equipment.
- Check Wi-Fi generation and your router’s capabilities; Wi-Fi 7 helps only when the network and region support it.
Prices and value: compare matched SKUs, not headline numbers
The cited prices come from reviews and represent specific configurations or starting points at the time of those reviews. They are not a permanent price list.
| Model and configuration described | Cited price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Yoga Pro 9i Gen 11 Aura Edition, TechRadar starting configuration | $2,499.99 / £2,719.99 | Starting price reported in TechRadar’s review dated October 16, 2026; the reviewed unit cost just over $3,000 |
| ProArt P16, PCWorld review unit: Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, RTX 4070 up to 105W, 32GB, 2TB | $2,299.99 MSRP | MSRP for that reviewed configuration |
| ProArt P16 RTX 4060 / 1TB entry model | $1,899.99 | PCWorld-listed entry model; other specifications may differ from the review unit |
| ProArt P16 64GB model | $2,699.99 | PCWorld-listed higher-memory configuration |
| ProArt P16 standard model in TechRadar’s review | About $2,700 / £2,600 | TechRadar’s approximate starting figures; configuration and region are not identical to PCWorld’s unit |
| ProArt P16 RTX Spark refresh | $2,799 / £3,299 | Tom’s Guide base prices for the newer RTX Spark variant with 4K OLED touch; separate refresh |
These numbers show why “cheaper” is not automatic. The $1,899.99 ProArt is an RTX 4060/1TB entry model, not the $2,299.99 RTX 4070/32GB/2TB review unit. Lenovo’s $2,499.99 starting figure and a Gen 11 configuration above $3,000 can also represent different GPUs, memory and displays. For a fair comparison, put both systems in a table with identical RAM, SSD capacity, screen class and approximate GPU tier, then compare the resulting totals.
Portability and battery expectations
PCWorld measured its ProArt P16 review configuration at 4.08 pounds. A newer RTX Spark variant reviewed by Tom’s Guide is listed at 3.9 pounds. Those are not interchangeable measurements: they describe different refreshes and configurations.

The accessible Gen 11 review describes the Lenovo as a backpack-friendly 16-inch design but does not provide a directly comparable weight in the cited extract. Do not declare one family lighter until the exact Lenovo SKU’s specification sheet supplies a number.
The ProArt configuration has a 90Wh battery. No controlled, same-test battery comparison for the exact Gen 11 and ProArt SKUs is established here. OLED brightness, GPU mode, screen resolution, refresh rate, application load and battery size can all change runtime. For photographers, the ProArt P16 is the more straightforward fit when an SD-card reader, 4K OLED touch and HDMI/USB connectivity are daily requirements. A card can move directly into the laptop, and the high-resolution screen gives a large canvas for reviewing images. Its 32GB/2TB reviewed configuration also avoids the immediate storage squeeze of a 1TB entry model.

The Yoga Pro 9i Gen 11 becomes attractive when pen work, HDR highlights and Lenovo’s force-pad workflow are more important than built-in card ingest. If your camera workflow already uses a USB-C reader or dock, the Lenovo’s display and Yoga Pen Gen 2 support may justify its higher starting price.

Which laptop should videographers and 3D creators buy?
Video editors should prioritize the exact GPU, GPU power limit, RAM and SSD before choosing a brand. The ProArt’s documented RTX 4070 up to 105W, 32GB/2TB reviewed configuration, HDMI 2.1 and SD reader form a practical editing package. The Lenovo’s RTX 5060 option may still be the right choice when its Tandem OLED and pen controls improve masking, grading or on-screen review, but it should not be represented as equivalent to the ProArt RTX 4070 without matched testing.
For 3D and GPU-rendered work, compare the application support for your renderer, the installed VRAM, cooling design and sustained power behavior. A nominal GPU tier alone cannot predict export or render time, and the cited material does not provide a same-test benchmark between these exact families.

Buying checklist for the exact SKU
- Write down the full model number, not only “Yoga Pro 9i Gen 11” or “ProArt P16.”
- Confirm processor model, NVIDIA GPU model and any stated laptop-GPU wattage.
- Match RAM capacity and type; check whether memory is soldered.
- Match SSD capacity and interface, and check upgrade access if your projects are large.
- Confirm display resolution, OLED/Tandem OLED designation, touch support, refresh rate and peak-brightness claim.
- Verify that the pen is included or merely supported, and identify the correct pen generation.
- Confirm SD-reader, USB4, USB-A and HDMI details from the port diagram.
- Check the listed battery capacity and the exact weight for that configuration.
- Compare the final regional price, warranty and stock status on the day you order; review prices are snapshots.
Verdict
Buy the Asus ProArt P16 when your creator setup revolves around camera cards, a 4K OLED touchscreen, HDMI/USB expansion, Wi-Fi 7 and DialPad controls, or when a matched configuration costs less. The PCWorld-reviewed RTX 4070/32GB/2TB system was listed at $2,299.99 MSRP, while lower and higher configurations change the value calculation.
