The Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition Gen 10 is a premium 14-inch convertible for people who want an OLED touchscreen, tablet flexibility and strong battery endurance for everyday work. Independent reviews recorded 12 hours 47 minutes in their battery tests, but the laptop is not a universal performance leader: its price and results in demanding workloads deserve careful comparison before you buy.

This review concerns the 14-inch Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition Gen 10, the model covered by Lenovo’s Gen 10 specifications and the cited independent reviews. Confirm the generation and exact screen, memory and storage in any listing; the name alone does not guarantee a particular configuration.

Tom’s Guide reviewed a configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, a 2.8K OLED touchscreen, and between 16 GB and 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory depending on the configuration described; it lists storage up to a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD and a weight of 2.9 pounds. Laptop Mag reported testing a unit with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Those details describe review coverage, not every Yoga 9i sold. Tom’s Guide’s review and Laptop Mag’s review identify their respective test results.
Is the OLED screen worth it?
For the Gen 10, Lenovo lists two distinct OLED options, so do not treat every Yoga 9i panel as having the same resolution, refresh rate or brightness:
#1 Best Overall
- UNOPENED RETAIL PACKAGING, sold as configured by Lenovo. Includes one year of Courier or Carry-in Lenovo Warranty. Add up to 4 years Lenovo Premium Care Onsite Plus when you register your computer with Lenovo.
- Powered by the high performing Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, the Yoga 9i 2-in-1 laptop is ready to take on any challenge, big or small. It unlocks maximum performance and creative efficiency, it has plenty of memory with 32 GB and even more storage with 1 TB.
- The 14″ 4K OLED touchscreen display brings sharp clarity and bold colors, with 100% DCI-P3 for spot-on color accuracy. With the Anti-fingerprint WQUXGA high resolution OLED touchscreen and up to 600 nits of brightness.
- Ports: 1x USB-A (USB 10Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 2), Always On; 1x USB-C (USB 20Gbps / USB4 Gen 2x2), with USB PD 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4; 2x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40Gbps), with USB PD 3.0 and DisplayPort 2.1; and 1x Headphone / microphone combo jack (3.5mm).
- The Yoga Pen, with tilt and pressure detection, low latency, and magnetic attachment to the lid, extends your flexibility, offering precise control and smooth drawing.
| Panel option | Resolution | Refresh rate | Brightness listed by Lenovo |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen | 2880 × 1800 | Variable 30–120 Hz | Up to 1,100 nits peak |
| 14-inch 4K OLED | 3840 × 2400 | 60 Hz | 500 nits |
These are manufacturer specifications for the Gen 10 options, not independent measurements of every unit. Lenovo also lists wide-gamut and HDR certifications for the 2.8K option. The Lenovo Gen 10 datasheet gives the option-specific details.
In their measured review units, Tom’s Guide recorded an average brightness of 420.6 nits and 149.2% DCI-P3 coverage; Laptop Mag reported 421 nits and 149.2% DCI-P3. These reviewer measurements are close, but they should not be confused with Lenovo’s “up to 1,100 nits peak” specification, which refers to a peak figure for the specified panel option rather than the average brightness those reviews measured. Both publications praised the OLED image quality. For the buyer, the practical attraction is vivid color and contrast on a touch display that can fold into different modes; check the exact panel listed for the configuration you are considering.

How long does the battery last?
Tom’s Guide reported 12 hours 47 minutes in its battery test. Laptop Mag also recorded 12 hours 47 minutes in a Wi-Fi web-surfing test with screen brightness set to 150 nits. These are independent publication results under their respective test conditions, not a promise that a particular user will get the same runtime. Lenovo cautions that “Actual battery life will vary depending on many factors such as product configuration and usage.”

Tom’s Guide’s comparison table listed 15 hours 42 minutes for a 13-inch M4 MacBook Air in that publication’s test. That result is useful as a same-publication reference, not as a universal battery ranking across different workloads or test methods. If unplugged time is a priority, compare results from the same outlet and test where possible, then account for your own screen brightness, video calls, workload and configuration.

How does it perform beyond everyday work?
The Core Ultra 7 258V configuration reviewed by Tom’s Guide scored 2,751 single-core and 11,059 multicore in that publication’s Geekbench 6 testing. These figures describe one reviewed configuration and test, not every Yoga 9i or the outcome of every real application.
Tom’s Guide and Laptop Mag both praised the display and battery experience while noting weaker performance against some alternatives in demanding workloads. That makes the Yoga a more natural fit for browsing, office work, streaming and other everyday productivity than for buyers whose main priority is sustained intensive processing. Before choosing it for heavy creative or technical work, compare workload-specific results for the exact competing configurations rather than relying on the Yoga’s premium positioning or a single benchmark.

Does the 2-in-1 design and port selection fit your setup?
The Yoga’s touchscreen and convertible hinge let it serve as a laptop or fold into other viewing and touch-first positions. That flexibility is valuable if you will actually use touch or a pen; if you want a conventional laptop and do not need a folding screen, you may be paying for a feature set you will rarely use.

Lenovo’s Gen 10 user guide specifies two left-side USB-C connectors supporting Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort 1.4, plus a right-side multipurpose USB-C connector with DisplayPort 1.4. It also documents a USB-A connector and a combo audio jack. Check the Lenovo user guide when planning a dock or external display, especially if you need to know which connector supports a particular display connection.

Who should buy it, and what should they compare?
The Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition Gen 10 makes the most sense for someone who values a polished OLED touchscreen, convertible flexibility and substantial tested battery endurance for everyday productivity. Its 2.9-pound weight in Tom’s Guide’s listed configuration also supports its appeal as a portable 14-inch machine. It is a less straightforward choice if price or sustained workload performance matters more than the screen and hinge.
Compare alternatives on the factors that affect your use, not just the model name:
- Battery: Prefer results from the same publication and test method; note brightness and workload.
- Display: Verify resolution, refresh rate and brightness for the exact Yoga configuration and competing model.
- Workload: Look for relevant CPU or GPU results if you run intensive applications.
- Form factor: Decide whether touch, convertible modes or pen use justify choosing a 2-in-1.
- Ports and portability: Check connector capabilities, weight and the adapters or dock your setup requires.
- Price and configuration: Compare like-for-like memory, storage and display options. Current local prices and availability are not established here, so verify them at purchase.
