A configuration reported in October 2026 pairs it with an NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell GPU with 72 GB of VRAM, while Lenovo’s May launch announcement listed RTX PRO 6000 graphics options with 96 GB. The P4 also supports up to 256 GB of system memory, but availability and exact specifications vary by model and region.
What the 72 GB figure refers to
The 72 GB figure is graphics memory, not the workstation’s system RAM. Notebookcheck reported on October 6, 2026 that the P4 could be configured with an NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell GPU with 72 GB of VRAM. Lenovo’s May 13 announcement had instead listed RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition and Max-Q options, each with 96 GB of GDDR7 ECC memory. The later 72 GB option is therefore distinct from the GPU choices in Lenovo’s original announcement; it is not the ceiling Lenovo stated at launch. (Notebookcheck; Lenovo StoryHub)

A headline GPU capacity alone does not identify the workstation you would receive. Compare the exact processor and GPU, system memory capacity and whether it is ECC, drive types and total capacity, operating system, and local price including applicable taxes. Confirm that the combination is orderable in your market rather than assuming every listed maximum can be paired together.
