There is no defensible winner until the exact Beelink SER5 configuration is identified. “SER5” covers a product family rather than one fully specified machine, while Lenovo sells the ThinkCentre M75q Gen 2 Tiny in numerous processor, wireless, port, memory, storage and warranty configurations. The M75q Gen 2 is the safer choice when you need a documented 1-liter business desktop, broad display support and service options. A SER5 could be a better fit in a particular listing, but its CPU, memory, storage, connectivity, warranty and price must be verified on a like-for-like basis first.
What the comparison can establish
The Lenovo ThinkCentre M75q Gen 2 is a configurable Tiny 1L platform, not a single performance level. Lenovo’s 2026 PSREF lists several Ryzen and Ryzen PRO processor choices, multiple wireless configurations, optional rear-port combinations and several base-warranty arrangements. Consequently, a listing’s exact processor and installed components matter more than the family name.

The Beelink SER5 also needs an exact SKU, region and condition before it can be compared responsibly. The information available for this article does not establish a particular SER5 processor, RAM configuration, SSD, wireless card, port layout, dimensions, noise level, performance result, warranty, price or availability. Treat any generic “SER5” specification as unverified until it matches the machine you intend to buy.
That leaves a practical answer rather than a benchmark verdict: select the M75q Gen 2 when its documented business features and configurable support matter, and select a SER5 only after its individual listing passes the same checks.

Lenovo ThinkCentre M75q Gen 2: verified platform details
Size and physical format
Lenovo identifies the M75q Gen 2 as a Tiny 1L computer. Its dimensions with rubber feet are 179 × 183 × 34.5/37 mm, and approximate weight is 1.25 kg, according to the Lenovo PSREF published in 2026. This is small enough for a monitor stand, shelf or VESA-style mounting arrangement when the relevant bracket and mounting pattern are supported.
Those figures describe the platform. A retail unit can weigh differently after its selected storage, memory, power adapter and optional hardware are included, so do not use the nominal weight as a shipping estimate.
Processor choices are configuration-dependent
The PSREF includes processors from AMD Ryzen and Ryzen PRO families. It does not make every M75q Gen 2 perform identically. Two machines with the same chassis name can have different core counts, graphics capability and sustained workload behavior because their processors differ.

The platform document is a specification reference, not an independent speed, acoustic or power test.
Memory capacity and upgrade path
Lenovo documents support for up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory in two SODIMM slots capable of dual-channel operation. The maximum is a platform capability, not a promise that every seller-installed machine includes 64 GB or that every aftermarket module has been validated by Lenovo. The PSREF also notes that installed memory may run below 3200 MT/s when the selected processor supports a lower speed.

- Desktop Computer offers maximum efficiency and convenience
- Ryzen 7 PRO processor offers maximum productivity in a timely efficient manner
- Windows 11 Pro OS with all the creative and productive tools you need
- 512 GB SSD is enough to store your favorite songs, movies, pictures, and essential documents
- No drive offers convenient media playing, writing, and recording
When inspecting a listing, establish all of the following:
- Installed capacity, such as 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB.
- Whether one or two SODIMM slots are occupied.
- The module arrangement, because two matched modules can enable dual-channel operation.
- The processor’s supported memory speed.
- The cost and availability of compatible modules if you plan to reach a higher capacity.
For ordinary browser, document, email and video-call work, the installed amount and channel arrangement are more immediately relevant than the headline 64 GB maximum. The larger ceiling is useful if your home office includes development tools, containers, large datasets or several virtual machines.

The platform supports up to two drives: one 2.5-inch SATA hard drive and one M.2 SSD. Lenovo lists M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0 ×2 and M.2 2280 NVMe possibilities, including PCIe 3.0 ×4 and PCIe 4.0 ×4 configurations. Lenovo states that its capacity maxima are based on tested offerings; that wording does not certify every capacity or aftermarket drive.
Check the actual unit for the installed SSD’s form factor and capacity before planning an upgrade. A listing with only an M.2 drive may have a different internal mounting arrangement from one that includes the 2.5-inch bay, and a 2242 module is not interchangeable with a 2280 module without the correct mounting support. Confirm the drive interface, available brackets, cable and screw before ordering parts.
Ports, monitors and peripherals
The standard port set listed by Lenovo includes:
- Front USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 data port.
- Front USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.
- Front headphone/microphone combo jack.
- Rear HDMI 1.4b and DisplayPort 1.4.
- Rear Gigabit Ethernet.
- Two rear USB 2.0 ports and two rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
Optional rear-port configurations can add or substitute display outputs, USB-C, serial, parallel and other connections. Therefore, a photograph of one M75q Gen 2 cannot be treated as the port layout of every unit. Ask the seller for a rear-panel photograph or a complete machine-type specification when a particular connector is essential.

Lenovo states support for up to three independent displays through the onboard and optional ports. For the listed graphics configurations, DisplayPort can reach 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz. HDMI is listed for 3840 × 2160 at 30 Hz or 2560 × 1440 at 60 Hz. The achievable arrangement still depends on the selected processor, optional ports, monitor inputs, adapters and the refresh rate you require. A three-screen setup should be checked as a complete connection diagram rather than assumed from the chassis name.
Networking and wireless
Every listed configuration has Gigabit Ethernet, but wireless is optional and variable. Lenovo lists Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and no-WLAN configurations; Bluetooth capability and version depend on the installed wireless card. Do not assume that a used or refurbished M75q Gen 2 includes Wi-Fi 6E, or even Wi-Fi at all. Verify the wireless card in the listing and confirm that its antennas are included.
Warranty choices
Lenovo lists base-warranty possibilities that include one-year courier/carry-in, one-year limited onsite, three-year limited onsite or no base warranty. The applicable option depends on the configuration and region. For a marketplace or refurbished purchase, check the machine’s serial number, Lenovo’s warranty lookup and the seller’s written return terms before payment. A nominal three-year option in a platform document does not prove that a specific second-hand unit retains that coverage.
Why “Beelink SER5” is not a sufficient specification
A SER5 comparison is meaningful only when the listing identifies the exact processor and complete configuration. Without that information, there is no reliable basis for saying it is faster, quieter, better connected or cheaper to own than a particular M75q Gen 2.
Before comparing, obtain a manufacturer or seller page that clearly states:

- SSD type, capacity and available expansion.
- Every video, USB and network port.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth versions.

- Warranty region, duration and service provider.
- New, refurbished or used condition, seller identity and return period.
If any of these are absent, mark the field “not established” instead of filling it with specifications from another SER5 listing. A different processor or regional revision can change the office experience and the total cost.
Head-to-head checklist for the exact machines
Use this sequence when you have a specific Lenovo listing and a specific SER5 listing. It prevents a fully equipped business desktop from being compared with a bare or differently configured mini PC.
- Capture the exact identifiers. Record Lenovo’s machine type or serial number and the SER5’s complete model or seller SKU. Save screenshots of the configuration and warranty language.
- Match the processors. Write down each full CPU model. Separate office responsiveness, sustained multicore work and integrated-graphics needs; do not infer a winner from the family name.
- Normalize memory. Compare installed capacity, module count and upgrade cost. If one machine needs an additional SODIMM to reach the target, include that part in its price.
- Normalize storage. Record SSD interface and capacity, then price the same usable capacity on both systems. Include any required 2.5-inch bracket, cable or replacement drive.
- Map displays and accessories. Draw the monitors you will connect and identify the exact output on each computer. Add adapters or cables only when the installed ports require them.
- Verify networking. Confirm the wireless card, Bluetooth support and Ethernet speed. If the Lenovo unit is a no-WLAN configuration, add the cost and compatibility of a supported network adapter.
- Check support and condition. Compare warranty attached to the actual serial number, seller return policy, operating-system license, included power adapter and refurbished or used status.
- Calculate like-for-like cost. Add memory, storage, adapters and any support difference before deciding which listing is cheaper.
- Reject unresolved claims. If a specification remains undocumented, treat it as a purchase risk rather than assuming the more favorable value.

Which home-office workloads fit the documented Lenovo platform?
Documents, email and browser tabs
These workloads do not require the platform maximums, but the exact processor, installed memory and SSD still determine how much multitasking headroom you have. A listing with modest RAM can become constrained sooner when many browser tabs, conferencing software and large documents are open together. Check the installed configuration rather than assuming that every M75q Gen 2 has the same reserve.
Video meetings and two or three monitors
The standard HDMI and DisplayPort outputs cover common dual-monitor arrangements, while Lenovo’s optional-port system can change the available connectors. For three independent displays, confirm the selected graphics configuration and the precise outputs. Verify whether your monitors accept DisplayPort, HDMI or an adapter, and check the intended resolution and refresh rate before purchase.
Development, containers and virtual machines
These uses make the two-SODIMM design and 64 GB platform ceiling relevant. Determine whether the candidate already has two modules installed, how much memory remains available and whether the processor in that exact unit supports the memory speed you expect. Storage expansion can also matter because the platform may accommodate both an M.2 SSD and a 2.5-inch SATA drive, subject to the machine’s included hardware.

Large spreadsheets and sustained professional work
Do not use the M75q Gen 2 family name as a performance guarantee. Select the processor by its full model and seek evidence appropriate to your workload. The available Lenovo documentation establishes supported components and interfaces, not comparative benchmark results, fan noise or power consumption.
Common buying mistakes and fixes
Assuming all M75q Gen 2 units include the same wireless
Fix: Confirm whether the unit has Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E or no WLAN, and check Bluetooth through the installed-card specification.
Planning a three-monitor setup from the chassis name
Fix: Match each monitor to a physical output, then verify the processor, optional rear port and required resolution or refresh rate.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTreating “up to 64 GB” as installed memory
Fix: Separate the platform maximum from the seller’s installed capacity and include compatible SODIMM cost in the budget.
Buying an SSD without checking its size
Fix: Identify whether the machine uses an M.2 2242 or 2280 position and whether a 2.5-inch bay, cable and bracket are present.
Relying on a generic SER5 review
Fix: Require the exact SER5 processor, memory, storage, ports, wireless, warranty and region. If the listing cannot provide them, postpone the comparison.
Confusing platform warranty options with coverage on a used unit
Fix: Check coverage by serial number and read the seller’s return policy, especially for refurbished or imported stock.

Decision guide
Choose the M75q Gen 2 when
- You want a documented Tiny 1L business platform with a stated two-SODIMM, dual-drive design.
- You need a clear path to up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory, subject to processor speed support.
- You require DisplayPort and HDMI in a compact system and may need optional rear ports for a specialized connection.
- Warranty verification and business-oriented service choices are more important than an unverified marketplace specification.
- You have found a listing whose exact CPU, RAM, SSD, wireless card, ports and warranty meet your requirements.
Consider the SER5 only when
- The listing identifies the exact variant and supplies primary specifications for every component that affects your office setup.
- Its processor, memory, storage and display outputs meet the same target as the Lenovo configuration.
- Its warranty, return terms, operating-system license and included accessories are documented for your country.
- Its complete price remains favorable after adding upgrades, adapters and any required networking hardware.
Walk away from either listing when
- The CPU model is omitted or replaced with a vague family label.
- Memory or SSD capacity is unclear, especially when photographs and text disagree.
- The seller cannot confirm monitor outputs or wireless hardware.
- Warranty language is missing, limited to the manufacturer’s generic platform page or inconsistent with the serial number.
- The apparent bargain depends on accessories or upgrades whose compatibility has not been confirmed.
Bottom line for a home-office buyer
The M75q Gen 2 is the better-documented starting point: it is a 1L configurable desktop with published memory, storage, display, networking and warranty options. That does not make every M75q Gen 2 listing suitable, and it does not prove a performance advantage over a particular SER5. The right purchase is the exact machine whose processor, installed components, monitor connections, support coverage and total cost are all verified. Until a specific SER5 SKU is documented on those terms, a head-to-head winner would be guesswork.
