Lenovo has opened US preorders for the Pro 9n, a 15.3-inch laptop built on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform. Notebookcheck reported on October 8, 2026 that the base model starts at $2,999.99 and that the top configuration, with a 20-core CPU, 6,144-core GPU, 128 GB of unified memory and up to 2 TB of storage, is listed at $6,099.99. Shipping was reported for October 16, 2026. The prices and ship date are reported US details and may change, so confirm them on the order page before buying.

What Lenovo has announced

The Pro 9n is Lenovo’s premium laptop on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform, and NVIDIA’s platform page lists it among the RTX Spark laptop offerings. The October 8, 2026 Notebookcheck report is the source for the preorder status, pricing and shipping date.

Naming needs care. A September 3, 2026 Notebookcheck report from IFA described a machine called the Yoga Pro 9n, with overlapping hardware details, and said retail pricing had not been disclosed at that time. The October preorder is the source for pricing, so check that the model name on your order page matches the configuration you want. Do not assume every detail from the September report applies to the preorder model.

The two RTX Spark chip tiers

NVIDIA’s platform page describes two N1X configurations. Memory ceilings differ between them, which matters when choosing a model for large local AI workloads.

Display, battery, weight and ports

The launch report gives these specifications for the Pro 9n. They are the publication’s and Lenovo’s figures, not measurements by Notebookcheck or this site.

Its memory was listed as up to 128 GB LPDDR5X at 9,400 MT/s. The October report does not confirm these for the preorder model, so verify them on Lenovo’s specification sheet before relying on them.

What NVIDIA claims for AI, creative and gaming work

NVIDIA positions RTX Spark for four kinds of work. Each claim below comes from NVIDIA’s platform page and has not been independently validated.

  • Local AI inference and agents: NVIDIA advertises local models of up to 120 billion parameters with a one-million-token context.
  • Creative applications: NVIDIA cites 3D and video work.
  • Gaming: NVIDIA lists ray tracing, DLSS and Reflex.

Whether a particular model fits in memory, and how quickly it runs, depends on the model format, quantization and software stack, none of which the launch reporting addresses.

How the price compares with a MacBook Pro

Notebookcheck compares the top Lenovo configuration with a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 Max, 128 GB memory and 2 TB storage, which it priced at $6,699. On those reported figures, the Lenovo is about $600 less. That is a single dated price comparison, not an equivalence claim.

  • UNOPENED RETAIL PACKAGING, sold as configured by Lenovo. Includes one year of Courier or Carry-in Lenovo Warranty. Add up to 4 years Lenovo Premium Care Onsite Plus when you register your computer with Lenovo.
  • Powered by the high performing Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, the Yoga 9i 2-in-1 laptop is ready to take on any challenge, big or small. It unlocks maximum performance and creative efficiency, it has plenty of memory with 32 GB and even more storage with 1 TB.
  • The 14″ 4K OLED touchscreen display brings sharp clarity and bold colors, with 100% DCI-P3 for spot-on color accuracy. With the Anti-fingerprint WQUXGA high resolution OLED touchscreen and up to 600 nits of brightness.
  • Ports: 1x USB-A (USB 10Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 2), Always On; 1x USB-C (USB 20Gbps / USB4 Gen 2x2), with USB PD 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4; 2x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40Gbps), with USB PD 3.0 and DisplayPort 2.1; and 1x Headphone / microphone combo jack (3.5mm).
  • The Yoga Pen, with tilt and pressure detection, low latency, and magnetic attachment to the lid, extends your flexibility, offering precise control and smooth drawing.

A fair comparison should be made like for like across these questions:

  • Do the memory and storage match, and what does each cost in your region?
  • Which operating system and software do you need, and does your toolchain run on each?
  • Is CUDA support or local model compatibility required for your work?
  • How does each machine perform on your own workload, measured under the same conditions?
  • How long does each battery last under a defined workload?
  • How do the displays compare in size, resolution, refresh rate, brightness and color?
  • How do weight, ports and warranty or service terms compare?

What is not yet established

As of the reporting available on October 9, 2026, there is no hands-on review, controlled benchmark or measured battery test for the Pro 9n. The launch report gives specifications and prices, and NVIDIA’s page gives platform-level claims. Neither establishes how the laptop performs in sustained AI, rendering or gaming workloads, how it manages heat, or how long it lasts on battery. Until those tests appear, treat any claim about its speed or endurance relative to a MacBook Pro as unverified.

Before you preorder

  • Confirm the exact model name, because the September report used Yoga Pro 9n.
  • Check the memory and storage of the configuration you are buying against the two options listed above.
  • Check the current price, tax and shipping date in your region.
  • Read the return and warranty terms for preorders from the seller.

Who the Pro 9n is for

The Pro 9n is worth evaluating if you need 128 GB of memory in a 15.3-inch laptop and your work depends on CUDA or local AI tools. If your choice is mainly between Windows and macOS, the reported price gap does not settle it. Software needs and measured performance will decide that, and neither has been tested in the reporting so far.

The Bottom Line

The Lenovo Pro 9n is a credible new option for buyers who need large unified memory and CUDA support in a thin, 15.3-inch OLED laptop. Its reported price advantage over a 128 GB MacBook Pro is real on paper, but performance, battery life and software fit still need independent testing before it can be called a true rival.
