Lenovo introduced its LOQ entry-level gaming notebook line in Brazil in December 2023, led by the LOQ 15IRH8. The launch configuration range paired 12th-generation Intel Core processors with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 or RTX 3050 graphics, and the reported suggested starting price was R$4,949.99. Those are historical launch details—not a current price or a description of every LOQ sold today.
What Lenovo launched in Brazil
The LOQ was presented as a more accessible gaming line in Lenovo’s portfolio, distinct from the premium Legion family. The Brazilian launch centered on the 15-inch LOQ 15IRH8. Launch coverage reported 12th-generation Intel Core processors, including an Intel Core i5-12450H configuration, alongside RTX 2050 or RTX 3050 graphics. The exact processor and graphics card depended on the SKU.
The announcement was reported on December 21, 2023. Lenovo’s suggested starting price was R$4,949.99 at launch, not a guaranteed current retail price. TecMundo’s Brazilian launch report and Canaltech’s coverage identify the launch model and its Intel and NVIDIA options.
LOQ 15IRH8 launch specifications
The figures below describe the launch-era model family as reported in Brazil. “Up to” specifications are maximum reported configurations, not a promise that every retail unit included them.

These details come from the launch report. Lenovo’s LOQ 15 Intel product-family page also describes features such as Lenovo AI Engine+, Advanced Optimus and a cooling system with four heat pipes and dual fans. Product-family specifications can vary by configuration, so they should not be treated as a complete specification sheet for every 15IRH8 sold in Brazil.
What the LA1 AI chip and AI Engine+ do
Lenovo marketed the LOQ with a dedicated LA1 chip and Lenovo AI Engine+. These are system-management and performance-tuning features intended to adjust power and thermal behavior dynamically. They are not a generative-AI capability, a substitute for the RTX graphics card or proof of a particular frame-rate improvement.

Actual behavior depends on the selected performance mode, firmware, cooling conditions, workload and whether the laptop is plugged in. Lenovo describes dynamic system monitoring on its later LOQ 15IRX9 product page; that later model’s description should not be mistaken for an independent performance test of the 15IRH8.
Upgradeability and cooling are practical advantages
For a budget gaming laptop, the reported two RAM slots and two storage slots make upgrade potential one of the LOQ’s useful features. The launch range was described as supporting up to 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and a PCIe SSD configuration up to 1 TB. The retail unit you find may ship with less memory or storage, and supported drive sizes and capacities can vary. Check the exact model’s specifications and maintenance documentation before buying parts or opening the chassis.

Lenovo’s product-family material highlights four heat pipes, dual high-speed fans and larger ventilation openings. Cooling capacity matters because sustained gaming performance depends not only on the GPU name but also on its power limit, the cooling system and the laptop’s operating conditions. The launch coverage also reported a MUX switch on RTX 30-series models and above; verify its presence on the specific SKU rather than assuming all LOQ configurations have it.
The 60 Hz screen is an important trade-off
The reported launch display was a 15-inch Full HD IPS panel with a 60 Hz refresh rate. It is suitable for everyday work and general gaming, but it cannot show the same number of frames per second as a faster-refresh panel. That is a meaningful limitation for competitive games, especially if the laptop’s GPU can render more frames than the screen can display.

Do not infer the screen specification from “LOQ 15” alone. Later configurations may have different refresh rates, resolutions, brightness and color coverage. Anyone buying for color-sensitive creative work should check the panel’s specifications rather than relying on the gaming label.

R$4,949.99 was the reported suggested starting price for the Brazilian launch in December 2023. It is a historical MSRP, not a current street price, and it cannot establish whether a used or remaining-stock unit is a good deal today. Later models have different hardware and pricing: Lenovo Brazil now lists products including the LOQ 15IRX9 and LOQ Essential Gen 9. A May 2026 report also covered newer Brazilian LOQ models with RTX 50-series graphics and prices of approximately R$8,899 to R$12,349, depending on configuration; those are not the 2023 15IRH8. See TecMundo’s May 2026 report.

Before comparing prices, confirm the details for the exact model code:
- GPU model, VRAM and power limit; RTX 2050 and RTX 3050 are not interchangeable with newer, higher-tier GPUs.
- Processor generation and class, such as H or HX.
- Screen refresh rate and other panel specifications.
- Installed RAM, number of occupied slots and included SSD capacity.
- Operating system: some listings may use Linux rather than Windows.
- Warranty terms, seller and whether the price is promotional.
A newer LOQ can cost more because it is a different machine, not simply because Lenovo raised the price of the original. Compare the components and configuration rather than the family name alone.
Who the original LOQ suits—and who should look elsewhere
A reasonable fit
- Budget-conscious buyers seeking a dedicated GPU for 1080p gaming.
- Students who want one computer for study and gaming and value a full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad.
- Owners willing to check and potentially upgrade memory or storage.
- People who expect to use the laptop mostly plugged into power.
Look for another configuration if
- You need dependable all-day battery life or a lightweight laptop for daily commuting.
- You want high-refresh competitive gaming on the built-in display; the reported launch screen was 60 Hz.
- You need a color-accurate screen for professional creative work.
- You expect premium materials or high-end ray-tracing performance from an entry-level gaming model.
Independent coverage of related LOQ 15 models has noted value as a strength and recurring compromises such as weight, battery life, speakers and some displays. Those observations are family-level context, not direct test results for the Brazilian 15IRH8 unless the reviewed model exactly matches. Notebookcheck’s LOQ 15 coverage spans related configurations.
What “Lenovo LOQ” means now
The name covers several generations and subfamilies, not one fixed specification. The 2023 launch story is specifically about the Intel-based LOQ 15IRH8 and its reported RTX 2050/RTX 3050 options. Current Lenovo Brazil listings include later Intel platforms and other configurations; the Essential line, for example, is a distinct subfamily. Later models can differ in CPU, GPU, screen, battery and expansion options. The LOQ family has also included AMD configurations, so it is not accurate to say every Lenovo LOQ uses Intel processors.
