Yes—the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 Gen 11 pairs a relatively slim profile with a generous 15.3-inch screen. Lenovo lists a starting weight of about 1.63 kg (3.59 lb) and thickness as low as 17.9 mm (0.7 in). That makes it a plausible choice if you want a large-screen laptop that is easier to carry than its size might suggest, but it does not establish that it is the lightest 15-inch option or the right fit for every commute.
How portable is the IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 Gen 11?
Lenovo’s US product page describes the 15-inch Intel Gen 11 model as “The Smarter Choice for Mobility” and lists a 1.63 kg (3.59 lb) starting weight and 17.9 mm (0.7 in) minimum thickness. Those are manufacturer specifications, not measurements for every configuration. Tom’s Guide listed its reviewed 2026 unit at 3.51 lb and gave dimensions of 13.52 × 9.43 × 0.70–0.74 inches. The small difference in listed weight underscores why you should check the exact model and configuration rather than assume every laptop sold under this name is identical. Lenovo’s US product page and Tom’s Guide’s 2026 review cover the respective manufacturer listing and reviewed unit.

What the weight and dimensions mean in practice
At roughly three and a half pounds before adding a charger, sleeve, or other items, it is still a 15-inch laptop to carry. Its relatively thin profile can help it fit into a bag, while the 15.3-inch display takes up more space than a compact laptop. Whether that is a worthwhile trade depends on how much you value a larger screen against the footprint and total weight of your everyday bag.
How long does its battery last?
Tom’s Guide measured 10 hours 33 minutes in its synthetic web-browsing battery test. The review used a display brightness of 150 nits and an automated mix of browsing, video streaming, and OpenGL workloads. Treat that as a controlled result for the reviewed configuration—not a guarantee of a full workday away from an outlet. Screen brightness, applications, network conditions, and other settings affect runtime. Lenovo lists a 60 Wh battery for the product, but that capacity figure does not itself establish how many hours you will get. Tom’s Guide’s review describes its test method; Lenovo lists the battery capacity.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What you gain with the larger screen—and what to verify
The reviewed configuration had a 15.3-inch, 1920 × 1200 IPS anti-glare touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Tom’s Guide measured 408 nits of brightness, 116% sRGB, and 82.2% DCI-P3 color volume on that unit. Those are review measurements for one configuration, not guarantees for every Gen 11 listing. The review also found its Intel Core 7 350 configuration suitable for everyday productivity and reported Geekbench 6 scores of 2,669 single-core and 7,827 multi-core; these results likewise should not be projected onto models with different processors or specifications. Tom’s Guide’s review provides the configuration and test results.
Before buying, match the exact SKU’s processor, memory, storage, display, and chassis details to the features you expect. Product-family names can cover different configurations and regional offerings, and the reviewed specification does not prove that every retailer listing has the same screen or components.

Which portability trade-offs matter?
- Charging: Tom’s Guide noted a barrel-style power connector and charger. If minimizing what you carry matters, account for the supplied charger in addition to the laptop’s listed weight.
- Dim workspaces: The reviewed model did not have a backlit keyboard, a drawback if you often type in low light.
- Price: Tom’s Guide discussed a US sale price of $799 versus a $1,299 full price in its review, published 4 August 2026. Those are historical prices, not a current offer; check the price and configuration for the listing you are considering.
Who should consider it?
It makes sense to consider the Slim 3i 15 Gen 11 if you want a relatively thin 15-inch laptop for school, office work, or other everyday productivity and are comfortable carrying a laptop of this size. It is a less compelling fit if your priority is the smallest possible bag load, a backlit keyboard, or minimizing charger bulk. Battery-life expectations should be based on your own workload, not the review’s controlled test alone.
