To set up Lemon Emulator on Android, you need an Android 12-or-newer arm64 phone, the emulator APK that matches your device, your own legally dumped prod.keys and Switch firmware, and a folder containing your legally obtained game dumps. Lemon’s first-run wizard guides you through those items in order. Production support is centered on Adreno graphics devices; the project lists Mali and PowerVR as outside its normal production scope, while the v1.1.0 Lite build adds experimental PanVK support for selected Mali GPUs.
Lemon does not include Nintendo keys, firmware, games, or a key-derivation service. You must dump the required data from hardware and software you own and follow the law where you live. Once the files are ready, the practical setup is: install the arm64 APK, complete the keys and firmware cards, choose a games folder, allow the library scan to finish, then test one title before changing drivers or graphics settings.

What Lemon Emulator is—and whether your phone is a sensible target
Lemon is an Android-only Nintendo Switch emulator. The project’s production build is scoped primarily to arm64 Android devices with Qualcomm Adreno graphics. That is an important qualification: an arm64 processor alone does not guarantee a good experience if the phone uses a different GPU family or lacks a suitable driver.
Minimum software and CPU requirements
- Android: Android 12 or newer for the APK builds documented in the current release notes.
- ABI: arm64. A 32-bit-only device cannot install or run the documented APK builds.
- GPU: Adreno is the main production target. Mali and PowerVR paths are described as out of scope for the standard production configuration.
- Storage: enough internal or removable storage for keys, firmware, emulator data, shader caches, and your game dumps. Switch images can be large, so check free space before copying a library.
The v1.0.0 release was published on October 2, 2026 at 18:59:11 UTC. Build requirements can change, so read the release notes for the APK you install rather than assuming an older device requirement still applies.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Mali support in the Lite line
The v1.1.0 release lists standard, Lite, and Lite & Spoofed APK variants. Lite uses lighter defaults and can import keys, firmware, games, and saves from an existing Lemon installation. Its notes also mention experimental PanVK drivers for selected Mali GPUs. “Experimental” matters: support depends on the exact phone, driver, game, and build, and should not be treated as equivalent to the Adreno production path.
What you must provide: keys, firmware, and game dumps
prod.keys is not bundled
Lemon’s README states: “No keys, no firmware. prod.keys and Switch firmware are not part of this repository and never will be — sourcing them from your own legally owned console is entirely on you.” The project also says it does not perform key derivation, decryption, or DRM handling.
In practical terms, obtain the keys by using a compatible dumping procedure with a Nintendo Switch console you own. Do not download key packs from random websites, request someone else’s files, or assume that a key from an unrelated emulator is valid for every title. Keep the original dump private and make a backup in a location you control.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFirmware is a separate input
Firmware is not interchangeable with prod.keys. Lemon’s setup wizard has a separate firmware card because the emulator needs system files for console-level behavior and for games built against newer Switch system formats. The README specifically documents a “Start in QLaunch” feature that works when firmware is installed.
Dump firmware from your own console using a method permitted in your jurisdiction. Importing a firmware folder without the matching keys can still leave games unable to decrypt or boot. Conversely, valid keys without an appropriate firmware version may fail on titles that require newer system components.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Game files must be your own dumps
Point Lemon at a folder containing Switch games you legally dumped or otherwise have the right to use. The emulator does not supply a game library. Keep games in a stable folder rather than moving them after the initial scan; if you do move them, rescan or change the games path in Settings.
Install Lemon and complete the first-run wizard
The v1.0.0 setup flow was rebuilt into one card per item. A progress indicator appears at the top, and the final card provides a recap. Completing the cards in order reduces the chance of testing a game before the emulator knows where its keys or firmware are.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Verify the device. Confirm Android 12 or newer, arm64 support, and—ideally—an Adreno GPU. If you have a Mali phone, check whether the specific Lite build and PanVK support listed for your device apply.
- Install the APK. Use the Lemon build intended for your device and Android version. Android may ask you to allow installation from the source used to obtain the APK; only enable that permission for a source you trust, then disable it again if you do not need it.
- Open Lemon and start the wizard. Read the progress indicator so you know which card is active. The wizard separates keys, firmware, games, and other setup items.
- Choose the keys location. Select the folder containing your legally dumped
prod.keys. If Lemon asks for a directory rather than a file, select the folder that contains the file, not a parent folder several levels above it. - Choose the firmware location. Select the firmware dump folder. Do not combine it with the keys folder unless your dump structure actually requires that and Lemon’s picker accepts it.
- Choose the games folder. Select the directory that contains your game images. Lemon will scan it for supported containers and add recognized titles to the library.
- Review the recap. Check each displayed path before finishing. A successful recap only confirms that paths were recorded; it does not prove every key, firmware component, or game is valid.
- Launch one test title. Start with a game you know is compatible and allow shader or pipeline caches to build. Test basic loading, controls, audio, and a short section of gameplay before importing a large library.
If a path is wrong, reopen Settings after the wizard and change the relevant location. You do not need to reinstall the emulator just because a folder moved.
Supported game containers and newer firmware formats
| Format or feature | What Lemon documents | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
.nsz |
Direct loading of compressed NSZ containers. | Solid NSZ files may be decompressed once and cached, so the first launch can require additional time and storage. |
.xcz |
Direct loading of compressed XCZ containers. | Performance and load time depend on compression, storage speed, and the title. |
| ZBIC | Support for games built for Switch firmware 22.0 and newer that use the ZBIC compressed executable format. | These titles still require appropriate keys, firmware, and a device/driver combination that can run them. |
Compressed containers save disk space but do not remove the need for valid decryption keys or firmware. If a game appears in the library but fails immediately, verify the dump and required system files before assuming the compression format is unsupported.
Import saves, keys, and firmware from another emulator
If Eden, Citron, yuzu, or another yuzu-based emulator is already installed, Lemon can use its import workflow. The option appears during first-run setup and at the top of Settings. Depending on what Lemon already has, the importer can bring over saves and, when missing, keys and firmware.

- Open the import option in the setup wizard or at the top of Settings.
- Allow Lemon to inspect the other emulator’s data directory when Android presents a folder-access prompt.
- Select the items to import. Review the source and destination paths rather than accepting a broad parent directory if the picker offers a choice.
- When Lemon detects an existing save for the same game, choose whether to keep the Lemon save or replace it with the imported one.
- If you replace a save, Lemon backs up the replaced data first. Do not delete that backup until you have launched the game and confirmed that the imported progress works.
- Start the game once, save normally, exit, and reopen it to verify that the new save persists.
Importing is not a license transfer. You still need the legal right to use the games, keys, firmware, and save data. It also does not guarantee that every emulator’s internal format, mod, or virtual storage layout will map perfectly.

You can start Lemon with the touchscreen alone. The emulator also supports full controller navigation, configurable on-screen control presets, per-game layouts, and gamepad hotkeys.
Touchscreen-only setup
Use the default on-screen controls to complete installation and test a title. If buttons obscure the game or feel too small, open the control-layout editor and adjust the preset or create a per-game layout. A per-game layout prevents changes for one title from affecting every other game.
Using a physical controller
An Android-compatible Bluetooth or USB-C controller is optional, not a Lemon requirement. Compatibility depends on the phone, Android version, controller firmware, and whether you connect over Bluetooth or USB-C. Pair or plug in the controller before launching a game, then use Lemon’s controller-navigation and hotkey settings to map buttons and shortcuts.
- Use Bluetooth when you want fewer cables, accepting that pairing and latency can vary.
- Use USB-C when your phone and controller support the required USB mode and you want a wired connection.
- Keep the touchscreen layout available as a fallback for menus or games that use touch-specific input.
Drivers and device-specific tuning
Driver behavior is hardware- and version-specific. Lemon documents an Adreno driver manager and per-game driver selection. Earlier release notes describe Lemon-Ade bundled support and automatic fallback behavior on certain Adreno hardware. Those details should be treated as build-dependent rather than as a universal recipe.

A safe driver workflow
- Run the game with the default driver first. Record whether it boots, whether graphics are missing, and whether crashes happen at a repeatable point.
- Install or select a driver only through Lemon’s documented driver manager for your build and GPU.
- Use per-game selection when one title needs a different driver. Avoid changing the global driver just to fix a single game.
- Restart the title after changing drivers and allow caches to rebuild. A first run after a driver change can be slower.
- If the new driver causes worse results, return to the previous selection and clear only the affected game’s cache if Lemon exposes that option.
Do not judge a driver by one menu screen. Test a repeatable gameplay section, because a title can boot while still suffering from broken shaders, missing effects, or instability later.
Updates, APK variants, and keeping data intact
Lemon checks its update server when it launches, falls back to a GitHub mirror if necessary, and provides a manual check under About. The v1.0.0 notes say updates are signed and applied in place while retaining user data.
Before updating a major build, make a separate backup of saves, keys, firmware, and configuration. Signed in-place updates are designed to preserve data, but a backup protects you from interrupted installation, accidental folder changes, or a regression in a new build.
| APK variant | Documented purpose | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Main Lemon build. | Use when your device fits the normal production path. |
| Lite | Lighter defaults; can import keys, firmware, games, and saves from Lemon. | Useful for devices that need lower overhead; exact behavior remains device-dependent. |
| Lite & Spoofed | Separate variant listed in the v1.1.0 release. | Install only when you understand why your device or test setup requires it. |
Do not install multiple variants over one another casually. Keep track of which build you are using, where it stores data, and whether a change is an update or a separate installation.

The wizard cannot find prod.keys
- Confirm the file is named exactly
prod.keys, with no duplicate extension such as.keys.txt. - Choose the folder that directly contains the file when Lemon asks for a directory.
- Re-grant Android folder permission if the file was moved or copied from another storage location.
- Verify that the dump came from your own console and is complete; downloading a replacement is not a legitimate or reliable fix.
Firmware is selected but games still fail
- Check that the firmware folder contains a complete dump rather than a compressed archive Lemon cannot read.
- Confirm that the firmware version is suitable for the game, especially a title built for newer system formats.
- Make sure the matching keys are also selected. Firmware alone cannot replace keys.
- Try the documented “Start in QLaunch” function to determine whether console-system files are being loaded.
A game is missing from the library
- Rescan after adding or moving files.
- Check that the games-folder card points to the directory containing the images, not an unrelated parent directory.
- Confirm that the container is a supported
.nszor.xczfile, or another format recognized by your build. - Check storage permissions and available space for decompression or cache creation.
A game boots with broken graphics or crashes
Compatibility is title- and device-specific. Lemon publishes fixes and known issues rather than promising perfect operation for every game. The v1.0.0 notes, for example, document a FIFA 23 face-color issue. Record the game version, phone model, GPU, Lemon build, and driver; then try the documented per-game driver controls instead of repeatedly changing unrelated settings.

An imported save does not appear
Confirm that you imported the correct title’s save, selected the intended replacement or keep option, and launched the game once after import. If a save was replaced, look for Lemon’s backup before attempting another import. Different emulator versions, mods, or regional releases can make an otherwise valid save appear incompatible.
How to evaluate Lemon against another Android Switch emulator
A universal performance percentage would be misleading: the official material does not publish a general compatibility score or benchmark statistic. Compare concrete capabilities instead.
| Decision axis | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| GPU coverage | Is the emulator optimized for your exact Adreno, Mali, or PowerVR device, and are any alternative drivers experimental? |
| Android and ABI | Does it require Android 12 or newer and arm64, or support an older phone? |
| Data migration | Can it import keys, firmware, and saves from your existing emulator, and does it back up a save before replacement? |
| Game containers | Does it directly load compressed NSZ and XCZ files, and does it support newer ZBIC-based executables? |

| Compatibility evidence | Are known issues listed for your specific game and device, rather than hidden behind a broad “works everywhere” claim? |
A practical pre-launch checklist
- Android 12 or newer is installed.
- The phone uses arm64 and has a supported or experimentally supported GPU path.
- Your own
prod.keysdump is stored safely. - Your own Switch firmware dump is complete and selected separately.
- Your legally obtained game dumps are in a stable, readable folder.
- The wizard recap shows the intended keys, firmware, and games paths.
- At least one title has been tested before importing a large library.
- Your saves are backed up before replacing them through the importer.
- You know which APK variant and driver version are installed.
- A touchscreen control layout remains available even if you use a controller.
Bottom line
Lemon’s Android setup is straightforward once the legal source files and device requirements are handled: install the arm64 Android 12+ build, supply your own keys and firmware, select a games folder, and test titles individually. Adreno phones are the safest fit for the production path; selected Mali devices may use the experimental PanVK support in Lite builds. Compressed NSZ and XCZ games and newer ZBIC executables are documented, while title-specific compatibility, drivers, and controller behavior still depend on the exact device and build.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the keys, firmware, or games folder after finishing the wizard?
Yes. Open Settings and change the relevant path; reinstalling Lemon is unnecessary. Rescan the games directory after moving files.
Does Lemon require a physical controller?
No. Touch controls are sufficient to start and play, while Bluetooth or USB-C controllers are optional and supported through navigation, layouts, and hotkeys.
Why might an NSZ game need extra storage on first launch?
Lemon documents one-time decompression and caching for solid NSZ files, so the first launch can require temporary space in addition to the compressed file.
Will importing a save overwrite my existing Lemon save immediately?
Lemon presents a keep-or-replace choice. If you replace it, the existing Lemon save is backed up first.
