Target’s listing for LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant set 71426 showed it in stock for $39.89, $17.10 below its displayed $56.99 reference price—about 30% off, rather than the 31% in the headline. The offer and stock can change. The set is listed by third-party sources for retirement on July 31, 2026, but that is not a direct LEGO announcement, and retirement does not mean every retailer has run out.

The reference price shown by a retailer is the comparison used for that listing; it is not the set’s original US launch price. Nintendo announced a $59.99 launch price in 2023. Target’s price and stock are point-in-time details, not a permanent offer.
Is LEGO set 71426 discontinued?
Third-party set-history and retirement coverage list July 31, 2026 as the set’s exit date. Brickset records that date in its set record, and Brick Fanatics included 71426 in its July 2026 retirement list. These sources support describing the set as reported or listed for retirement; they are not an official LEGO retirement notice.

What comes with the Piranha Plant set?
Set 71426 is a 540-piece, age-18+ display build. The plant’s head, mouth, stalk and leaves can be posed, and the model sits in a buildable pipe with two coin elements. It has no digital play functions, so it is designed as a display model rather than an interactive LEGO Super Mario set.
