The 1,911-piece LEGO PlayStation set (72306) is a buildable display replica of Sony’s original console and controller, not a working game system. LEGO describes it as near 1:1 scale and lists the model at over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. It also includes tactile Open and Power buttons and two game-inspired scenes that can be hidden inside or displayed separately.
How the LEGO model compares in size
LEGO lists the assembled model as over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. PlayStation describes the replica as near 1:1 scale and gives its width as 26 cm. “Near 1:1” is the manufacturer’s description; it does not establish that every exterior dimension matches every original console revision exactly.

Sony identifies the original PlayStation as model SCPH-1000 and dates it to 1994, but the official sources cited here do not provide dimensions for that hardware. There is therefore no verified, same-basis measurement here for a precise side-by-side dimensional comparison.

The scenes can be tucked inside the console model or removed and displayed alongside it. LEGO’s set announcement and the PlayStation Direct product page describe these as buildable scenes, not included games or playable discs.
Buttons and playability: what “functional” means
The model has tactile Open and Power buttons, and its console opens to reveal the mini-builds. Those physical features do not make it an electronic PlayStation: the official product descriptions do not describe power, disc-reading, or game-playing functionality. The controller is built from LEGO pieces and plugs into the replica; it is not a working game controller.
