LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird (72537) is the best choice when licensed characters, movie connection and interactive posing matter more than rebuilding the same box into several different animals. Its 825 pieces make two displayable characters, while the most direct wildlife alternative, Creator 3-in-1 Majestic Tiger (31129), offers three complete animal builds for less on the captured US product page. Adult decorators have a different option in The Fauna Collection – Tiger (31217), and licensed-character collectors can compare Pokémon Eevee (72151).
What set 72537 is, and who should buy it
The LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set (set 72537) builds the two named characters from KPop Demon Hunters. LEGO lists it on its US shop for ages 9 and up, 825 pieces and $69.99, with availability shown as “Available now” when the product information was captured. Those are US listing details at that time, not a guarantee of today’s stock or a price in another country.

This is a character-first animal build rather than a realistic wildlife model. Derpy Tiger has two expression choices, a movable head, movable legs and paws, and a hidden storage compartment in his head. Sussie Bird’s neck rotates and her feet can be posed. The set includes two love notes and a flowerpot, giving the model a small story-play setup rather than only a static sculpture.
LEGO describes the completed model as suitable for both play and display. When Sussie stands on Derpy’s head, the pair measures over 21 cm high, 15 cm long and 15 cm wide. That footprint is useful to check before buying: the height includes the bird-on-tiger arrangement, while the listed length and width describe the displayed model’s overall space.

The strongest reason to choose 72537 is the licensed likeness. LEGO’s product copy says: “Choose from 2 expressions: show off Derpy’s smile or have him deliver a love note on his tongue, just like the notes he exchanges between Rumi and Jinu in the movie.” The sentence is manufacturer description, not an independent assessment, but it explains what separates this set from an ordinary tiger or bird build.

How the character model differs from a wildlife build
Licensed likeness instead of species realism
Derpy and Sussie are recognizable fictional characters with a specific screen connection. Their value is tied to that identity: a fan may want the exact pair, the expressions and the love-note gag. A wildlife set such as a tiger, red panda or koi fish appeals for a different reason—the animal subject and the construction itself remain the focus even if the owner has no connection to a film or game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsOne main configuration, with interactive options
72537 is designed around keeping both characters together. You can change Derpy’s expression, move his limbs and paws, rotate Sussie’s neck and pose her feet, but the box is not documented as a three-model rebuild system. Its variety comes from staging and posing the two characters, not from dismantling them into unrelated animals.
Story play and display in the same footprint
The hidden head compartment, love notes and flowerpot provide prompts for imaginative play. Once positioned, the pair can also function as a compact character display. That combination favors a child or fan who wants to handle the model after building it. Someone seeking a purely decorative sculpture—or a framed art object—will find the alternatives below more aligned with that purpose.

Prices and stock in this table are snapshots from LEGO’s US product pages, not a marketplace survey. They can change, and the sold-out status recorded for 31129 and 31217 does not predict current availability elsewhere. Product pages: Majestic Tiger 31129, The Fauna Collection – Tiger 31217 and Pokémon Eevee 72151.
Creator 3-in-1 Majestic Tiger (31129): choose it for rebuilding
LEGO’s Majestic Tiger 31129 contains 755 pieces and three documented build options: a tiger, a red panda and a koi fish. The tiger version also includes a brick-built red bird. This is the clearest contrast with 72537 because one purchase supports repeated rebuilds into substantially different animals.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The captured US LEGO page listed 31129 at $49.99 and marked it sold out. That lower listed price should not be treated as a current deal, because the page status and price may change. Its appeal is the range of wildlife subjects, not a film-specific character relationship.
- Choose 31129 if: you want to build, dismantle and rebuild three animal subjects; you are buying for more than one animal preference; or wildlife variety matters more than a licensed story.
- Choose 72537 instead if: the recipient specifically wants Derpy and Sussie, or if movable character features and the KPop Demon Hunters connection are the reason for buying.
The piece totals—755 versus 825—do not establish which build is more enjoyable or better made. They describe the contents of each set, while rebuild frequency and character interest determine which one is more useful to a particular owner.
The Fauna Collection – Tiger (31217): choose it for adult decor
The Fauna Collection – Tiger 31217 uses 744 pieces to create a tiger artwork surrounded by decorative flowers. LEGO marks it for ages 18 and up and says the flowers move; the finished model can hang or stand for display. The captured US product page listed $64.99 and showed the set sold out at that time.

This is not a poseable animal character in the same sense as 72537. It is a framed or flat, three-dimensional art treatment intended to become room decor. Its adult age guidance and display orientation make it a better match for a collector furnishing a wall or shelf than for a child seeking story play.
- Choose 31217 if: the primary outcome is an adult-oriented tiger artwork that can hang or stand, and movable floral elements are enough interaction.
- Choose 72537 instead if: you want a freestanding pair of characters, changing expressions, articulated body parts and accessories for play.
Pokémon Eevee (72151): choose it for another licensed character
The Pokémon Eevee 72151 is a second licensed-character option. LEGO lists 587 pieces, an 18+ age recommendation and a US price of $59.99 on the captured page, which showed availability as “Available now.” Eevee’s head, ears, feet and legs move, and its tail articulates.
Eevee therefore overlaps with 72537 on the character-collecting and posing axes, but not on age positioning or format. It represents a game character and is presented as an adult-oriented build. 72537 is listed for ages 9 and up and includes two characters plus small story accessories.
- Choose Eevee if: Pokémon identity is the deciding factor and an adult display build with articulated parts suits the recipient.
- Choose 72537 instead if: the buyer wants KPop Demon Hunters characters, a two-character scene, a hidden compartment and love-note play features.
Price, piece count and what the numbers do—and do not—tell you
The captured LEGO US prices are $69.99 for 72537, $49.99 for 31129, $64.99 for 31217 and $59.99 for 72151. Their piece counts are 825, 755, 744 and 587 respectively. It is tempting to divide price by pieces, but that would reduce a licensed character set, a three-in-one wildlife set, a decorative artwork and an adult Pokémon model to one misleading ratio.
A piece count does not measure the size of the finished model, the number of complete models you can build, the value of a license, the amount of articulation or whether the set is intended for play or room decor. 72537’s price reflects a two-character licensed concept with moving parts and accessories; 31129’s documented advantage is three alternate animals; 31217’s is a display-art format; and Eevee’s is a different licensed character aimed at adults. None of those distinctions can be captured by pieces per dollar alone.

Because two comparison pages were recorded as sold out, do not use the table as a promise that a particular set can be ordered at the listed amount. Check the current LEGO page or the retailer you intend to use, and treat regional pricing separately from the US figures above.

For a KPop Demon Hunters fan
Pick 72537. It is the only set in this comparison built around Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird, and its expression choices, love notes and flowerpot reinforce their story connection. No wildlife alternative substitutes for owning those named characters.
For the most animal variety in one box
Pick 31129. Its three documented subjects—tiger, red panda and koi fish—offer a fundamentally different ownership pattern from 72537’s single paired scene. Confirm current stock and price before relying on the captured $49.99 listing.
For an adult shelf or wall
Pick 31217 if a tiger artwork with movable flowers and hanging or standing display is the goal. Its 18+ guidance signals a different intended audience from 72537’s 9+ play-and-display positioning.
For a licensed character collector outside KPop Demon Hunters
Pick Eevee 72151 when Pokémon is the preferred universe and an adult-oriented poseable figure is appropriate. Pick 72537 when the buyer wants two characters, younger age guidance and story accessories instead.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
For a child who wants to pose and play
72537 has the clearest documented play features in this group: movable parts on both characters, two expressions, a concealed compartment and accessories. The product page lists it for ages 9 and up. Always follow the age guidance on the box or current product listing for the specific set and market.
Display planning for Derpy and Sussie
Reserve an area at least 15 cm wide and 15 cm deep for the listed footprint, with more vertical clearance than 21 cm if you plan to pose Sussie on Derpy’s head and want room to handle the model. The dimensions are LEGO’s stated measurements for that arrangement, not a guarantee that every pose occupies exactly the same space.
Because Derpy’s head contains a hidden compartment and the set includes small paper-like love-note accessories and a flowerpot, decide whether the model will be handled regularly or kept as a display. A play shelf makes the interactive features easy to reach; a higher display position may protect small accessories but makes expression changes and posing less convenient.

Where to discover more LEGO animal builds
LEGO’s US animal category lists a broader selection, including Cute Animals: Red Panda, Gray Wolf, Majestic Lion and Koala Habitat & Care Center. The category states that LEGO has made animal sets since 1935. It is useful for browsing subjects beyond the four comparison sets here, but category listings are not a stable price or availability comparison: products have different formats, ages, piece counts and release histories.
Use the category when the buyer knows the animal they want but not the set. Use the individual product pages when age guidance, current stock, dimensions or the exact build options determine the decision.
Buying checklist
- Confirm that the recipient wants KPop Demon Hunters characters rather than a generic tiger or a rebuildable wildlife set.
- Check the current US LEGO listing or your local market; the prices and availability above were captured product-page details and can change.
- For 72537, verify that a 9+ set is appropriate and reserve display space for the listed 21 cm-plus height and 15 cm by 15 cm footprint.
- Choose 31129 when three alternate wildlife builds matter more than licensed character likeness.
- Choose 31217 when the purpose is adult-oriented tiger decor that can hang or stand.
- Choose Eevee 72151 when Pokémon identity and an adult poseable character are the priority.
- Do not use piece count alone to rank these sets; compare the finished format, articulation, rebuild options, intended age and license.
Verdict
Buy LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird 72537 when the recipient wants those exact licensed characters, a two-character scene and interactive details such as expressions, posing, the hidden head compartment and love notes. Choose Majestic Tiger 31129 for three wildlife rebuilds, The Fauna Collection – Tiger 31217 for adult tiger artwork, or Pokémon Eevee 72151 for a different licensed character display. The right choice is determined by format and fandom—not by the largest piece count or the lowest captured list price.
