Short answer: Nintendo and the publishers have confirmed a remastered Switch 2 collection, but the official listings reviewed do not state its frame rate, docked or handheld resolution, or loading times. Those figures should be treated as unknown until independent testing publishes measured results.
What is confirmed about the Switch 2 edition?
LEGO Harry Potter Collection on Nintendo Switch 2 combines LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7. Nintendo describes both games as remastered for Switch 2, while the publisher announcement says the collection includes all previously released downloadable content (DLC) packs. That confirms the package and its advertised content, not a particular technical target.

The port is credited to Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games in the announcement attributed to Warner Bros. Games, TT Games and the LEGO Group. The same announcement gives a suggested retail price of $49.99, but that figure should be checked against the current store listing for the reader’s country rather than treated as a universal price. Read the publisher announcement.
Nintendo’s UK product copy calls the package “The LEGO® Harry Potter™ Collection” and says that Years 1–4 and Years 5–7 are remastered for Nintendo Switch 2. “Remastered” is the publisher’s description; it does not, by itself, specify a resolution, frame-rate mode, texture setting or loading-time improvement. Does it run at 60 fps?
No official frame-rate target or measurement appears in the Nintendo listings or the publisher announcement reviewed for this edition. That means there is no evidence-based basis to call it 30 fps, 60 fps, unlocked, variable, or fully stable.
A game can be described as remastered without its developer publishing a frame-rate number. Even if Switch 2 hardware has more performance headroom than the original Switch, hardware capability is not a test result for this particular port. A reliable answer requires capture at the released build, with frame-time analysis rather than a visual guess from gameplay footage.

When post-release tests become available, look for a full scene or level rather than a short menu clip. A useful test should identify the game version, console mode, display output and whether the measurement covers busy areas, effects and two-player play.

What resolution does the collection use?
The official product pages do not give a docked resolution or a handheld resolution. They also do not state whether either mode uses dynamic resolution, a fixed internal render size, temporal reconstruction or a post-processing upscale.
Do not substitute the maximum output supported by Switch 2 hardware for the game’s actual render resolution. A console may output a signal at one size while a game renders internally at another, and handheld and TV modes can use different targets. Until a technical analysis measures both modes, the accurate specification is “not disclosed.”

For a meaningful comparison with the earlier Switch release, a tester should capture the same location in both games, use identical camera framing where possible, and report native output separately from internal rendering. A single screenshot cannot establish a whole-game resolution target.

Are loading times faster on Switch 2?
No loading-time figure or comparison is included in the reviewed official material. There is therefore no confirmed result showing that the Switch 2 edition loads levels, hubs, cinematics or save files faster than the earlier Switch version.

Loading performance can vary by task. A title may load its main menu quickly but take longer when entering a large hub, switching characters, restarting a level or returning from a cutscene. Storage conditions and the measurement method also matter. A credible comparison should time the same operation repeatedly, state whether the game is digital or packaged, and distinguish first launch from a reload after the data is already cached.
What a proper post-release loading test should measure
- Initial launch from the console dashboard to the title screen.
- Save selection to playable control.
- Entry into representative story levels from the same save point.
- Transitions between a hub and a level, including any cutscene or character-selection screen.
- Restarting a failed or completed level.
Until those measurements are published, “faster loading” is a question for testing, not a specification of the Switch 2 edition.

Release dates, formats and regional availability
Nintendo of America lists the digital Switch 2 edition for October 16, 2026. Its US page identifies WB Games as publisher and TT Games as developer, lists an estimated download size of 13.7 GB, and supports TV, tabletop and handheld modes. Nintendo warns that preorder information, including download size, may not be final, so check the live listing before downloading or planning storage. Nintendo of America product listing
Nintendo UK also lists an October 16, 2026 release and a PEGI 7 rating. It specifies one-system play for one to two people. The listing says multiplayer requires one compatible controller per player; anyone planning local two-player play may need an additional compatible controller if they do not already have one. It does not establish that online co-op is available.

The reviewed US information confirms a digital listing, while the packaged format is specifically confirmed by Sega for Japan. Do not assume that a Japanese package will be sold in every other region or that its contents, language support or pricing will be identical elsewhere.

Two complete story compilations
The package covers the first four Harry Potter years in one game and years five through seven in the second. This is a compilation of two previously released LEGO adventures rather than a newly announced third story.
Previously released DLC
The publisher announcement says all previously released DLC packs are included. The announcement does not provide a new itemized list in the reviewed material, so the safest description is the publisher’s complete-DLC statement rather than a claim about individual packs, characters or missions.
Remaster wording versus measurable upgrades
“Remastered” confirms that the Switch 2 edition is being presented as an updated version. It does not confirm upgraded textures, ray tracing, a new lighting system, higher polygon counts, faster loading or a particular frame rate. Those details should be credited only when the publisher or a measured technical analysis states them.
How to judge the Switch 2 version after launch
If resolution, frame rate and loading are deciding factors, use a test that separates the questions instead of relying on a single review score or a short video.
- Confirm the build. Record the game version, system software and whether the test uses the digital or packaged release available in your region.
- Test both display conditions. Capture docked TV play and handheld play. Note the display’s output setting and whether the console is using any scaling.
- Measure frame times. Count sustained output over demanding scenes, combat, effects-heavy areas and local two-player action. Report frame pacing as well as an average.
- Check image detail. Compare static geometry, distant objects, text and effects at the same camera position. Identify dynamic resolution if it changes during movement.
- Time repeatable transitions. Use the same save and the same level entrances for several runs. Separate first launch, save loading and level restarts.
- Record mode changes. Note whether a graphics or performance selector exists and whether changing it affects image quality, frame pacing or loading.
This method can establish what the released game actually does. It should not be replaced by assumptions based on the Switch 2 specification sheet or by borrowing numbers from another remastered title.
