Lavazza Tablì uses pressed-ground-coffee tabs rather than conventional capsules, but the available evidence does not support a first-person brew review: no tasting or performance test was conducted. The tabs are designed for Lavazza’s dedicated Tablì machine, and “plastic-free” applies to the coffee tab—not all of its packaging.
What Lavazza Tablì is—and what it is not
Lavazza describes a Tablì tab as ground coffee pressed into shape, with no capsule, coating, or individual wrapping. The company says the tab itself is 100% coffee. It is made for the dedicated Tablì machine; Lavazza’s product information does not establish compatibility with K-Cup, Nespresso, or other capsule brewers. That distinction matters: this is not simply a new capsule that fits an existing single-serve brewer. Buying into the system means using its machine and its purpose-made tabs.
What is known about the coffee in the cup
There are no independent taste notes, measured brewing results, or comparative performance figures established here. Without an actual brew and tasting, it would be misleading to describe Tablì’s flavor, crema, temperature, extraction consistency, cleanup, or convenience as firsthand findings. Lavazza’s promotional claim that Tablì delivers “the perfect espresso, every single time” is a company statement, not an independently verified result. Lavazza North America’s June 8, 2026 announcement contains the claim and identifies its speaker as Daniele Foti, the company’s VP of Marketing.

Which tabs and machine versions are listed
The assortment depends on the market. Lavazza’s Italian FAQ lists four blends and three machine colors; Lavazza USA lists five blends. These are market-specific lists, not one universal lineup.

How to use the Double Shot tab
Lavazza USA says to select the machine’s Double Shot button for Double Shot tabs. Lower the tiltable spout to brew two espressos into separate cups; raise it to make a double shot in one cup. These instructions are specific to the Tablì machine. Lavazza USA’s FAQ gives the procedure.

The coffee tab and its packaging are not the same thing. Lavazza says the tab can be thrown away or composted; its Italian FAQ says it can go in organic-waste collection with food scraps. Local composting and waste rules differ, so check what your municipality accepts rather than assuming every collection program takes coffee tabs.

Lavazza USA says the trays are paper sealed with plastic film to preserve freshness and advises following local recycling guidance for the packaging. The company’s description therefore does not mean the entire product and packaging system is plastic-free or compostable. How to store opened tabs
After opening the sleeve’s plastic film, Lavazza USA recommends either refrigerating the tabs for no more than 45 days or keeping them at room temperature for up to 14 days from opening. These are the company’s storage instructions for its US product; follow the package directions for the tabs you buy. Lavazza USA’s FAQ provides the time limits.

Availability and launch details
Lavazza North America’s June 8, 2026 announcement said the official US launch would follow in August 2026 on LavazzaUSA.com and that availability would expand to Amazon later that year. Those were announcement-time plans, not confirmation that a listing or a particular price is currently available. Check the seller’s live product page for current availability and compatibility details.

The same announcement described a preorder bundle at $99.99, with a stated value of $249.99, containing the machine, milk frother, 60-count variety collection, and tab tweezer. That was a specific announced offer, not an established current price. Lavazza also said its development involved five years of R&D and more than 15 patents; those figures are company claims in the announcement, not independently audited findings. What to weigh before choosing Tablì
- Machine lock-in: The tabs are intended for the dedicated Tablì brewer, and compatibility with other machines is not established.
- Waste handling: The coffee tab is described as 100% coffee, but the US tray has a plastic-film seal. Disposal depends on local rules for both the tab and packaging.
- Evidence for cup quality: The available claims do not establish independent taste, performance, or lifecycle comparisons. A lower-waste format should not automatically be treated as environmentally superior without that evidence.
- Ongoing access: The tabs are a dedicated consumable. Confirm the blends and current availability in your market before buying the machine.
