Laura Bailey’s favorite Critical Role romance is Imogen Temult and Laudna’s relationship, known by fans as Imodna. Asked to name her favorite Campaign 3 moment during a San Diego Comic-Con Fireside Chat, Bailey answered: “The Kiss.”
That moment mattered beyond its romantic payoff. Imogen and Laudna’s bond became one of Bells Hells’ main emotional engines, linking the campaign’s supernatural dangers to trauma, trust, loyalty and the characters’ decision to build a future together.

Imogen and Laudna begin as intensely close companions rather than an immediately defined couple. Their connection grows through shared fear, mutual protection and an unusual understanding of each other’s isolation. That gradual development is why “Imodna” became the fandom shorthand for the pairing: it describes a romance that grew out of the party’s most intimate friendship.

Why “The Kiss” is Bailey’s favorite moment
The clearest evidence for the title’s claim comes from the cast’s San Diego Comic-Con Fireside Chat. When asked to name a favorite Campaign 3 moment, Bailey replied, “The Kiss.” The answer identifies the romantic turning point itself, not merely a later consequence or a general preference for Imogen and Laudna as characters.
The official transcript does not establish an episode number in the material available here, so attaching a number without a verified episode guide would risk misidentifying the scene. Viewers looking for it should follow Imogen and Laudna’s relationship in campaign order rather than rely on an unverified episode label.

How Imogen and Laudna changed Campaign 3
A private bond became a party-level stake
Early Bells Hells stories give each character personal reasons to distrust safety. Imogen carries the burden of her powers and psychic connection to forces larger than herself. Laudna’s history makes belonging, bodily autonomy and the possibility of an ordinary life deeply complicated. Their relationship turns those private wounds into a shared reason to keep choosing one another.

Once their bond becomes romantic, threats to either character carry consequences beyond an individual hero’s arc. Decisions about danger, sacrifice and loyalty also become decisions about whether they can preserve the person who understands them best. That does not mean every Campaign 3 plot event was caused by the romance; it means the romance changed how those events were emotionally measured.
Trauma and consent stay in the foreground
Imogen and Laudna’s story is not presented as uncomplicated wish fulfillment. Their closeness is shaped by fear and by the need to be understood, which makes questions of consent, independence and emotional boundaries part of the relationship’s meaning. Their devotion is powerful precisely because it is also vulnerable: protecting someone can become a way to avoid caring for oneself.
The romance gave Bells Hells a shared future to defend
The relationship’s importance becomes clearest in its later commitments. A July 20, 2026 report from Popverse says Bailey learned during a live performance that Imogen and Laudna had married, describing the pairing as a fan-favorite ship. That reveal moves the relationship from romantic possibility to an established partnership with a public, domestic future.

Are Imogen and Laudna canon?
Yes. The relationship is canon, and the campaign’s official ending gives it an explicit future. In Critical Role’s C3E121 recap, Lieve’tel takes Laudna and Imogen’s hands and casts Divine Inspiration “to ensure that they age and die together.” The wording is unusually direct: the blessing is not a vague promise of continued affection but a supernatural guarantee that they will share a mortal lifespan.

Why the relationship can be read as devotion and codependency
A January 27, 2026 Popverse feature records cast discussion that Imogen and Laudna were intensely concerned for each other while showing little comparable concern for their own well-being. That observation introduces a necessary criticism of the pairing: mutual rescue can become mutual neglect.
Reading Imodna through that tension makes the romance more substantial, not less. Their willingness to choose each other is emotionally meaningful, but the campaign also invites viewers to ask whether love is helping them recover or encouraging them to define survival entirely through the other person. The answer is not simply “healthy” or “unhealthy”; it shifts as the characters confront danger, responsibility and the need for self-care.
Imodna’s key milestones
| Stage | What is established | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Close friendship | Imogen and Laudna form an unusually intimate bond within Bells Hells. | The romance grows from trust and shared trauma rather than a sudden plot twist. |
| “The Kiss” | Laura Bailey named it as her favorite Campaign 3 moment. | The relationship becomes an explicit romantic story. |
| Marriage reveal | Popverse reported on July 20, 2026 that Bailey learned during a live performance that the characters had married. | The pairing receives a durable, public commitment. |
| Finale blessing | The C3E121 recap says Divine Inspiration was cast “to ensure that they age and die together.” | The official ending confirms a shared future rather than leaving the romance ambiguous. |
Where to follow Bells Hells
Critical Role’s official Campaign 3 information directs audiences to podcast platforms for new episodes and identifies Beacon as the source of ad-free access. Following the campaign from its early episodes makes the romance’s gradual development easier to see than watching isolated clips of the kiss or the finale. The emotional payoff depends on the accumulated history between Imogen and Laudna, including the moments when their concern for one another helps them and the moments when it exposes their lack of self-care.

What “changed Campaign 3 forever” really means
The phrase is an interpretation, not a claim that Imogen and Laudna caused every major event. Their romance changed the campaign’s emotional center by giving Bells Hells’ conflicts an intimate measure: who can be trusted, what survival costs, whether trauma can be shared without becoming identity, and whether two damaged people can choose a life beyond crisis.
Bailey’s one-word answer, “The Kiss,” captures the turning point. The later marriage and the C3E121 blessing show why that moment continued to matter: Imogen and Laudna’s relationship became not a side plot, but one of Campaign 3’s clearest statements about loyalty, vulnerability and choosing a shared future.
