In T3’s comparison with first-generation Meta glasses, the Berlin’s photos were “arguably better”; in TechRadar’s comparison with second-generation Meta glasses, stills were comparable, while Meta’s 3K video out-resolved the Berlin’s 1080p. The answer depends on the capture mode and which Meta generation you mean.
What camera does the L’Atitude 52°N Berlin have?
L’Atitude’s official Berlin product page specifies a 12MP Sony IMX681 sensor, a 107° field of view, portrait and landscape capture, and video at 1080p and 30 frames per second. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test measurements.

The glasses have 32GB of onboard storage. The company says clips can run from 30 seconds to a maximum of three minutes. The same product page lists Berlin and Milan frame designs and optional photochromic lenses; those details matter if fit or changing light conditions influence your choice.
How do the photos compare with Ray-Ban Meta?
Against first-generation Meta glasses
In a hands-on review, T3’s Rik Henderson judged the Berlin’s photo quality “arguably better” than that of first-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses. He also described the Berlin style as more contemporary. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a controlled, lab-based comparison. Crucially, Henderson tested preview software and an early app, and reported delayed or missed transfers—including pictures that appeared not to reach the app. Read his T3 review with those software caveats in mind.

Against second-generation Meta glasses
TechRadar’s Josephine Watson compared the Berlin with second-generation Meta Ray-Ban glasses during a week-long review in August 2026. She found the still photos comparable to Meta’s and said the framing felt natural overall, though some shots came out “a little wonky.” This is a field review, not a controlled side-by-side camera test. Her TechRadar review therefore supports a finding of competitive stills, not a general camera victory.
Where Meta has the clearer video advantage
The Berlin records video at 1080p and 30fps. TechRadar praised its stabilized video, but said it “pales against the latest Meta Ray-Ban’s 3K capture.” That comparison refers to second-generation Meta glasses in Watson’s review; it should not be collapsed into a claim about every Meta generation or every camera mode.

In practical terms, the Berlin may satisfy someone who values everyday first-person clips at 1080p, but its maximum stated resolution is lower than the 3K capture TechRadar compared against. The evidence here does not establish that the Berlin beats Meta for video.

Is the camera reliable in everyday use?
Image quality and getting the image onto your phone are separate parts of the camera experience. T3’s preview-software review noted missing or delayed transfers. Tom’s Guide later reported that a firmware update improved interaction and Bluetooth issues but did not eliminate them; the reviewer still encountered problems roughly once every two to three uses. That frequency is the reviewer’s reported experience, not a population-wide reliability rate. See the Tom’s Guide review.

The reports span different review dates and software versions, so they do not establish the glasses’ current reliability on every device or after later updates. They do show why a favorable photo sample alone cannot settle whether this is the better camera-glasses purchase: capture, transfer, and controls all affect whether a shot is usable.

Price and value
T3 listed launch-period prices of £349 / $399 / €399, rising to £389 / $449 / €449 with photochromic lenses. These are May 2026 review figures, not verified current prices. Check the price and availability in your region before deciding; the evidence does not establish a current price.

Battery, storage, and hardware
T3 reported a 200mAh battery and a product claim of up to six hours outside the case. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 specification table also lists a 200mAh battery, 32GB storage, and a case supporting six full recharges. These are reported specifications or product claims, not independent battery-test results.
The Berlin also includes dual open-ear speakers, a five-microphone array, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4 LE, according to L’Atitude’s product page. Those features may make it more useful as a wearable than a camera alone, but they do not change the differences in photo comparison, video resolution, or transfer reliability.

Travel-focused AI
Tom’s Guide found the AI tour guide useful while traveling, but less compelling for everyday use, and criticized the price relative to the overall capabilities. That makes the AI feature more relevant to frequent travelers than to someone buying mainly for camera performance; the review does not support treating the AI as a reason the camera beats Meta.
Fit and privacy
T3 found the Berlin frame relatively large and suggested that people with smaller heads might need another design. L’Atitude also lists a Milan frame, but the available reviews do not establish that it will fit every wearer better.
Privacy comparisons are also limited. Meta says its glasses use a blinking white capture LED, and that covering or disabling the LED automatically disables the camera; see Meta’s July 2026 explanation. The reviewed L’Atitude materials do not provide enough comparable information to claim that its privacy signaling is better or worse.

Who should consider the L’Atitude 52°N?
- Consider it if you prioritize still photos, like the Berlin’s design, and are comfortable with 1080p video. Reviews describe its stills as competitive, with T3 offering a more favorable comparison against first-generation Meta glasses.
- Look more closely at alternatives if high-resolution video is a priority: TechRadar’s second-generation comparison favors Meta’s 3K capture over the Berlin’s 1080p.
- Be cautious if reliable phone transfers and controls are essential. Reviewers reported glitches at different points, though software versions and review conditions differed.
- Check fit and current local pricing before buying. The Berlin was described as relatively large, and published prices in these reviews are launch-period snapshots rather than current quotes.
