Last Asylum: Plague summoning, duplicates, and pity system explained (2026 guide)

Last Asylum: Plague uses rotating hero banners rather than one permanent summon pool. Standard and featured banners can offer SR, SSR and UR heroes, while duplicate epigraphs and Raven gear can be converted into progression. There is no verified, universal hero-banner pity number: the active banner’s details panel is the authority for rates, guarantees and carry-over before you spend.

What summoning means in Last Asylum: Plague

Last Asylum: Plague is a free-to-play strategy and simulation game about operating a sanctuary, treating survivors, collecting supplies, improving heroes and reclaiming ruined territory. Its official site summarizes the premise as “One sanctuary. One doctor. One last chance!” Hero recruitment is one part of that wider progression loop: a summon is valuable only when it improves the squads, factions and equipment you are actually building.

Google Play lists the game for Android and Windows, with more than 10 million downloads and a 4.7-star rating from 343,000 reviews. The listing was updated September 8, 2026, and identifies in-app purchases and random-item purchases. Those figures describe the store listing, not a guarantee of summon outcomes or a promise that every platform has identical event timing.

How to summon a hero

The labels and menu locations can change with updates, but the decision process is consistent. Use this sequence whenever you are considering a pull:

  1. Open the recruitment or summon screen. From the sanctuary interface, enter the feature that lists current hero banners. Do not assume the first banner shown is the best use of your currency.
  2. Choose the exact banner. Identify whether it is a standard pool, a featured or rate-up pool, or a limited event banner. The banner name and featured-hero portrait should match the unit you intend to pursue.
  3. Open the details panel. Read the displayed rarity rates, featured-hero rule, pull cost, pity or guarantee language, and any note about carry-over. Community posts may be useful context, but the live client controls your account.
  4. Check your currency and inventory space. Confirm that you can complete the intended number of pulls and that rewards will not be blocked by a full roster, mail box or item inventory.
  5. Confirm the pull or multi-pull. The result screen should identify each hero, rarity and any duplicate conversion. Record progress toward a stated guarantee if the banner displays one.
  6. Review the result before spending materials. A duplicate may be useful for stars, upgrading or fusion. Do not immediately consume it until you know which destination item and copy requirement apply.

Single pulls and multi-pulls are not automatically equivalent in value. Compare the currency cost, any ten-pull rule shown in the client, and how each pull advances the banner’s counter. If the details screen does not state a discount or guaranteed rarity, treat the options as having the same displayed odds per attempt.

Banner types, rarity and rate information

Standard banners

A standard banner is the broad recruitment pool. It can contain several hero families and is generally the place to use permanent or broadly available tickets. The exact roster and rates are version-sensitive; a community guide that lists an older pool may no longer match your client after a hero or balance update.

Featured and rate-up banners

A featured banner highlights one or more heroes and may change the chance of obtaining them. “Rate-up” does not by itself mean that the featured hero is guaranteed at a particular pull. The details panel must state whether the featured result is a direct guarantee, a chance within the top rarity, a selection between featured and off-banner heroes, or simply an increased rate.

Rarity tiers

Community coverage describes SR, SSR and UR tiers. These labels indicate rarity, not a complete ranking of usefulness. A lower-rarity hero with faction bonuses, a needed role or well-developed skills can produce more account value than an unbuilt high-rarity duplicate. Evaluate the unit’s role in your current squad after the summon rather than treating the color or tier as the whole decision.

What to compare before choosing a banner

When two banners are available, write down the values shown in their details panels. This prevents a familiar-looking event banner from being mistaken for a better one.

Comparison point What to record Why it matters
Featured identity The exact hero or hero list A rate-up is useful only if the unit fits your team or planned faction.
Rarity table SR, SSR and UR rates as displayed Different pools can use different distributions.
Featured guarantee The wording and trigger for any guarantee A top-rarity guarantee may still allow an off-banner hero.
Pity threshold The number of attempts or milestone shown There is no verified universal number across all hero banners.
Carry-over Whether progress moves to a later banner, and which banner family qualifies Carry-over can differ between standard, featured and event pools.
Cost per pull The currency and amount for one and multiple pulls Cost determines how much of your reserve a target actually requires.
Duplicate value Star, upgrade or fusion use for the possible result A repeat can be progression material instead of a dead result.

If a cell is not shown in the client, treat it as unknown rather than inferring it from another banner. A complete, current hero rate table and a universal duplicate-cost table have not been established by the available documentation.

How pity works—and why one number is unsafe

Community coverage describes pity as a banner milestone, but the cited material does not establish one current threshold that applies to every hero banner. The threshold, what result is guaranteed, and whether the counter carries over can change with banner type and update. Never budget around a single number copied from an old guide.

Read the guarantee language literally

  • Milestone wording: Determine whether the counter guarantees a top rarity, a featured hero, or only an improved probability.
  • Counter scope: Check whether the counter belongs to this banner alone, to all banners of the same family, or to a named event.
  • Reset condition: Find out whether the counter resets after any top-rarity result, after the featured hero, or only when the banner ends.
  • Carry-over statement: Look for an explicit sentence saying progress transfers. Silence is not a promise that progress will transfer.

How to protect your currency

  1. Screenshot or note the banner details before your first pull, including the date and banner name.
  2. Set a maximum spend based on the displayed cost and your current reserve, not on a hoped-for outcome.
  3. Stop when the result meets your account goal; a pity counter is not a reason to chase duplicates you cannot use.
  4. When the banner changes, reopen its details and verify whether the previous counter remains visible or is described as transferred.

The Dwarf Mine guarantee is a different system

Documentation for the separate Dwarf Mine event describes probability scaling within a floor. Repeated digs change the chance of the special reward, and a maximum number of digs guarantees that reward and advances the floor. That is a pity-like mechanic for the mine event, not evidence that hero recruitment uses the same counter, threshold or carry-over rule.

Keep the systems separate in your notes. A successful Dwarf Mine guarantee does not demonstrate that a hero banner has reached pity, and hero-banner pulls should not be counted toward a mine-floor guarantee unless the client explicitly says so.

Are duplicate heroes, epigraphs and gear useful?

Duplicates are not automatically worthless. The most clearly documented duplicate uses concern epigraphs and Raven gear, where additional copies can raise stars, support upgrades or enable fusion. Hero duplicate handling can vary by item class and update, so inspect the destination item and recipe in your own upgrade screen before confirming.

Epigraph duplicates

A duplicate epigraph can advance an existing epigraph rather than being discarded. The practical value depends on whether that epigraph supports the faction, role or squad you are actively developing. A copy for an unused build may be less valuable than saving materials for the epigraph that your main lineup already relies on.

Raven gear duplicates

Community information describes duplicate Raven pieces as materials for stronger equipment through upgrading or fusion. Eligible slots, required copies and material costs are not fixed in the available evidence. Open the specific piece’s upgrade screen: it should show the destination item, required copies and any additional materials before you accept.

Duplicate heroes

Do not assume every duplicate hero follows the same conversion as an epigraph or Raven item. If the hero screen offers stars, awakening, shards or another conversion, use the displayed recipe. If no conversion is shown, keep the copy until you understand its role; deleting or feeding it blindly can remove a future requirement.

A safe duplicate-management routine

  1. Keep copies that match your active plan. Prioritize the faction, role and squad you are currently investing in.
  2. Separate active and experimental builds. Store a copy for a planned faction instead of consuming every duplicate in the strongest team today.
  3. Check the destination item. Confirm exactly which epigraph, hero or gear piece receives the copy.
  4. Verify the copy count and materials. The current client, not an old guide, is authoritative for the recipe.
  5. Concentrate scarce materials. Leveling every duplicate spreads resources and can leave your main lineup weaker.
  6. Confirm irreversible actions. Read the warning and resulting star, level or fusion preview before tapping the final button.
Situation Recommended action Reason
Copy directly strengthens your main squad Use it after checking the recipe The immediate stat or skill gain supports your current progression.
Copy supports a faction you plan to build Keep it in reserve Future synergy can be worth more than a short-term conversion.
Copy has an unclear destination or cost Do not consume it yet Item classes and recipes can change with updates.
Copy is outside every planned build Follow the client’s documented conversion, if any Only the in-game option establishes whether it has a useful material value.

Resource planning for free-to-play and paying players

Because the game sells random items through in-app purchases, summon currency should be treated as a limited planning resource even when you occasionally buy it. Decide whether your goal is a specific featured hero, a rarity milestone, or duplicate progression. Each goal produces a different stopping point.

Common mistakes and fixes

Using an old pity number

Symptom: A guide promises a guarantee at a fixed number, but your banner shows different wording or no counter. Fix: Use the live details panel and treat the older number as unverified for the current version.

Assuming rate-up means guaranteed featured hero

Symptom: You obtain the top rarity but not the advertised unit. Fix: Re-read whether the banner guarantees the featured hero or merely increases its probability within the rarity pool.

Spending a duplicate immediately

Symptom: A copy is consumed before you know the star or fusion destination. Fix: Open the upgrade preview first and confirm the required copies and additional materials.

Mixing Dwarf Mine progress with hero pity

Symptom: Mine digs are counted as if they advance a hero banner. Fix: Track each event separately; the mine’s floor guarantee does not establish a hero-summon rule.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Ignoring the banner reset

Symptom: A new featured banner appears and you assume your old counter transferred. Fix: Look for an explicit carry-over statement or a visible counter in the new banner before pulling.

A decision framework for your next pull

Ask these questions in order:

  1. Does the featured hero fill a role or faction gap in my current roster?
  2. What rarity and featured rates are displayed right now?
  3. What exactly is guaranteed, at what milestone, and when does the counter reset?
  4. Is carry-over explicitly described for this banner family?
  5. Can I afford the displayed cost without delaying more important sanctuary or squad upgrades?
  6. If I receive a duplicate, do I know its destination, copy requirement and material cost?

If any answer is unknown, pause and gather that information from the client. The opportunity cost of an uncertain pull is the currency you cannot use on a later banner whose terms better match your roster.

What is established, and what remains version-sensitive

The broad system is clear: hero recruitment is banner-based; SR, SSR and UR tiers are used in community descriptions; duplicate epigraphs and Raven gear can contribute to stars, upgrades or fusion; and at least one non-hero event, Dwarf Mine, uses a floor guarantee. The exact rate table, featured-hero guarantee, pity threshold, carry-over behavior and duplicate recipes are not universal facts in the available documentation. They should be read from the current client each time you spend.

Bottom line

Summon for a roster purpose, not simply because a banner is available. Open its details, record the rates and guarantee language, and verify carry-over before pulling. Keep duplicates that support your active faction or build, and use the upgrade or fusion preview to confirm their value. Treat the Dwarf Mine floor guarantee as its own event mechanic, never as proof of a universal hero pity counter.
