The listing says NBC correspondent Christine Romans spoke with him about bubble fears, doomsday scenarios and building AI safely. It does not provide the full interview or a transcript, so the headline is a summary—not a verified verbatim quote. Yahoo News’ listing is the available account of that segment.
What did Fink say about the AI race?
The October 6 listing frames Fink’s concern as a question of competitive position: the risk of falling behind in AI may matter more to him than the possibility of an investment bubble. That framing is consistent with earlier public comments in which he discussed AI spending in geopolitical terms, but those remarks came in other interviews and should not be treated as quotes from the October segment.

The listing’s summary also says the conversation covered AI doomsday scenarios and how to build the technology safely. Without the full exchange, it is not possible to establish what positions Fink took on those subjects or what evidence he offered.

BlackRock’s published transcript of a CNBC interview
In a separate CNBC interview, published as a transcript by BlackRock, Fink argued that the United States needs investment to lead in AI. He said, “If you put it in a framework of geopolitical positioning, we as a country need these investments if we’re going to be the leader in AI technology.” He also anticipated failures, while noting that the build-out extends beyond chips and GPUs to areas such as HVAC and power infrastructure. In that same interview, Fink estimated that data centers, power and related build-out would involve “a trillion and a half dollars.” That is his estimate from the interview, not an independently verified market total or forecast.
Semafor’s March 2026 report
Semafor reported in March 2026 that Fink was more concerned about the United States “losing to China” than about overspending on capital expenditures. The report also described his expectation that some AI companies would fail while others achieved major success. These remarks offer earlier context for the competitive-risk framing; they do not verify the October interview’s exact wording. Read Semafor’s report.

Bloomberg’s January 2026 interview in Davos
In a January 22, 2026 interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Fink said, “I sincerely believe there is no bubble in the AI space,” according to Bloomberg. That statement reflects his view at that earlier event, not a remark verified from the October NBC segment. Watch Bloomberg’s interview.

Does Fink think AI investment is a bubble?
His earlier comments indicate skepticism that AI investment as a whole should be labeled a bubble, but they do not establish that every AI-related investment is sound. In BlackRock’s transcript of the CNBC interview, he said: “I don’t believe this is a bubble, but I believe this is capital that in most cases is going to be well spent.” His acknowledgment that failures will occur is an important qualification: confidence in the overall build-out is not a claim that every company or project will succeed.
Rank #3
The October listing identifies bubble concerns as part of the interview, but its summary alone cannot show whether Fink repeated, revised or qualified his earlier view.
