The company plans to use the capital to develop Horizon for frontier-model training and evaluation, and Recursion Managed Agents for automated work inside business applications.
What Labelbox announced
Labelbox said in its 2026 financing announcement that it closed more than $100 million in Series E financing at a $1.25 billion pre-money valuation. The package combines equity financing with a credit facility, so the headline figure is not an equity-only round. Labelbox has not disclosed how much came from equity, the credit provider, or the terms of the facility.

| Item | What was disclosed |
|---|---|
| Series | Series E |
| Total financing package | More than $100 million, combining equity and credit |
| Valuation | $1.25 billion pre-money |
| Lead investor | Infinitum Partners |
| Other named participants | Wipro Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), B Capital, Tau Ventures and Snowpoint Ventures, alongside other investors |
“Pre-money” means the stated valuation applies immediately before the new financing is added. It is therefore not the same as a post-money valuation, and the announcement does not provide enough information to calculate the company’s post-money value or the ownership sold in the round.
What the funding is intended to build
Labelbox is directing the money toward two connected parts of its platform: Horizon, which supports reinforcement-learning development and evaluation, and Recursion Managed Agents, which brings continuously improving agents into enterprise workflows.
#1 Best Overall
Horizon for reinforcement learning
Horizon is designed to give AI developers repeatable environments in which models can practice difficult, multi-step tasks. A model attempts work in a simulated setting, receives calibrated rewards or rubric-based feedback, and uses those results to improve on later attempts.
Labelbox describes Horizon as a combination of reinforcement-learning environments, expert feedback and evaluation infrastructure. The intended users are frontier AI laboratories and hyperscalers that need realistic tasks and reliable grading rather than simple benchmark questions. Environment quality matters because a model can appear to improve on a narrow test while failing when the task requires planning, tool use or several dependent decisions.
Rank #2
Recursion Managed Agents for business operations
Recursion Managed Agents is aimed at companies that want agents to work inside applications they already use instead of operating as isolated chatbots. An agent can be started by a schedule, alert, support ticket, webhook or API call, then coordinate actions across multiple tools.

The system also includes a feedback loop. Outputs are graded against defined standards, and those graded results are added to memory so later runs can improve. Labelbox says it was operating more than 50 internal agents across its own functions before making the system available to enterprise customers. That detail indicates the product is positioned around managed, repeatable processes rather than one-off prompt experiments.
Rank #3
Why reinforcement learning and managed agents are linked
Both products depend on the same broad idea: an AI system becomes more useful when its work can be observed, scored and fed back into the next run. Horizon applies that loop to model training in controlled environments. Recursion applies it to production workflows, where an agent’s result can be checked against an organization’s rules.
That architecture also creates practical requirements. Customers need clear task definitions, trustworthy graders, safeguards around tool access and a retention policy for the data placed in agent memory. A high score is meaningful only when the rubric reflects the real business outcome, and an agent that can call several systems needs isolation and permission controls to limit the damage from an incorrect action.
Labelbox’s reported business scale
The company says it has more than 400 customers and reaches over 90% of leading U.S. AI labs, also described in the announcement as leading frontier labs and hyperscalers. Labelbox further reports more than fivefold year-over-year growth and profitability in 2026.

What the Series E does not establish
- It does not reveal the equity-versus-credit split within the financing package.
- It does not identify the credit provider or publish interest, repayment or security terms.
- It does not provide an independently verified valuation analysis.
- It does not include public pricing for Horizon or Recursion Managed Agents.
- It does not publish benchmark results comparing the products with other AI-infrastructure platforms.
For buyers evaluating alternatives, the useful comparison points are the realism and depth of reinforcement-learning environments; the quality of evaluation, grading and human feedback; deployment across existing business applications; controls for memory and continuous improvement; sandbox isolation, security and data retention; and transparency about model, compute and usage costs. The announcement describes Labelbox’s position on the first four areas, but supplies no independently comparable pricing or benchmark data.
What to watch next
The financing gives Labelbox resources to expand both research infrastructure and enterprise deployment. The most informative follow-up disclosures will be concrete: customer adoption of managed agents, measured improvements from Horizon environments, security and retention terms, and financial detail separating recurring software revenue from financing proceeds. Until those details are published, the Series E is best understood as a substantial expansion round backing a combined reinforcement-learning and agent-operations strategy, rather than proof of a specific performance advantage.
CEO’s explanation
Manu Sharma, Labelbox’s CEO and co-founder, said: “Every company will soon run on AI systems that learn from their own work. Getting there takes innovation at every layer, from sandbox infrastructure and the agent harness to reinforcement learning post-training. Labelbox brings those layers together in one platform, and this funding lets us push each one further, so that frontier labs and enterprises can build AI that gets better with every run.”
