The published information supports evaluating its rated speed, paper handling, interfaces, and consumables; it does not establish output quality in practice or long-term reliability.

How fast is it?
Kyocera rates the engine at up to 45 A4 pages per minute in simplex and up to 22.5 pages per minute in duplex. These are rated maximum speeds; the available specifications do not provide independent results for a particular document, page coverage, or workload. A first print is listed at approximately 5.3 seconds or less, with warm-up at approximately 16 seconds or less.

For a small office, the duplex rating matters if most jobs print on both sides: the stated duplex rate is half the simplex figure. Whether that translates into useful throughput depends on the mix of single- and double-sided jobs, and the numbers do not replace a workload-specific test.
How much paper can it hold?
The standard configuration combines a 500-sheet cassette with a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. Kyocera lists a 250-sheet face-down output capacity. Optional feeders can raise maximum input to 2,600 sheets, but that figure is not the out-of-box capacity.

The European brochure names PF-3110 500-sheet feeders, with up to four listed, as well as an alternative bulk-feeder/base configuration. Confirm the exact supported arrangement and regional availability before buying accessories.

What paper and weights does it support?
The standard duplexer is listed for paper weights from 60 to 120 g/m². The multipurpose tray supports heavier stock up to 220 g/m², subject to the paper sizes and regional specifications. Do not assume the maximum multipurpose-tray weight also applies to duplex printing: the stated duplex range is narrower.
If the office regularly prints labels, envelopes, or heavier media, check the supported size-and-weight combination in the documentation for the specific market configuration. The maximum weight alone does not establish support for every stock type or size.
What toner does it use, and what does the yield mean?
The named black cartridge is the Kyocera TK-3400. Kyocera lists an average continuous yield of 12,500 pages under ISO/IEC 19752; the supplied starter toner is rated at 6,000 pages. These standardized figures are not guarantees for an individual workload, since actual cartridge life varies with use.

How does it connect and print from mobile devices?
Published interfaces include USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet. Wireless LAN is optional in the European specifications, so do not assume Wi-Fi is built into every regional configuration. Listed print support includes Apple AirPrint, Mopria, KYOCERA Mobile Print, direct PDF printing, and Microsoft Universal Print. Kyocera also lists multiple page-description languages.
For an office network, the wired Ethernet connection may suit a shared printer deployment; mobile printing depends on the services and network configuration used by the organization. Confirm the required option and compatibility for the model sold in your market.

What security features are listed?
Kyocera’s current European product page lists data overwrite and encryption, a trusted platform module (TPM), secure boot, runtime integrity checks, S/MIME, and TLS 1.3. The brochure also describes network security functions. These are manufacturer-listed capabilities, not evidence of an independent security assessment, a particular default configuration, or compliance with a buyer’s policy.
IT teams should map the listed features to their own requirements and verify how they are implemented and configured in the intended regional model before deployment.
Power, noise, size, and warranty
European documentation lists 605.5 W while printing, 8.4 W in ready mode, and 0.5 W in sleep mode. These are stated operating-mode figures, not independent energy-test results. The European brochure lists 54 dB(A) during printing and 30 dB(A) in standby; a regional specification page also lists a 50 dB(A) silent mode. Modes and figures may depend on market or specification conventions.

Dimensions are approximately 380 × 410 × 285 mm without protrusions and 390 × 416 × 308 mm with protrusions. The brochure gives a weight of about 14.6 kg with bundled toner.
Warranty terms vary by region. Kyocera’s European page lists a one-year standard warranty and a conditional three-year or 300,000-page guarantee for the drum and developer, whichever occurs first, subject to instructions for use and cleaning. Verify the local warranty and service terms rather than applying the European offer elsewhere.
Who should consider the PA4500x?
It may fit if
- You need a monochrome A4 printer with a high published simplex rating for a workgroup.
- You want standard input of 600 sheets and the option to expand capacity for a larger print operation.
- Your workflow benefits from duplex printing and fits the listed 60–120 g/m² duplex paper range.
- Your IT team can verify the regional configuration, network options, and security setup against its requirements.
Check alternatives or local details if
- You need color, or need independent evidence of print quality, measured throughput, or reliability.
- You require wireless networking as standard rather than as an option.
- Your work regularly uses heavier stock in duplex mode, or depends on a specific size-and-weight combination.
- Your decision depends on cost per page, current street price, local stock, or service coverage; those values are not established by the published specifications summarized here.
Verdict
On paper, the ECOSYS PA4500x is a capable specification fit for a small workgroup seeking fast monochrome A4 printing, standard 600-sheet input, and substantial optional capacity expansion. The case for buying it depends on whether its regional configuration, paper requirements, networking, warranty, and local TK-3400 pricing fit the office. Published specifications alone cannot establish real-world output or reliability.
