It is not the Wi-Fi model in the cited Asia product-family specifications; that is the separate PA2101cwx. For a buying decision, the key distinction is straightforward: the PA2101cx offers wired USB and Ethernet connections, while the related PA2101cwx is the Wi-Fi model. If wireless networking is essential, check the complete model number on the listing and printer label before buying.
How fast does the PA2101cx print?
Kyocera specifies up to 21 pages per minute for both monochrome and color A4 printing. Its published first-print times are 10 seconds for monochrome and 12 seconds for color, with a 32-second warm-up time. These are manufacturer figures; actual throughput depends on the job, settings and operating conditions.

The Asia specification page lists print resolutions of 600 × 600 dpi and 1,200 × 1,200 dpi. These settings describe the published output options, not a hands-on assessment of text sharpness, color accuracy or graphics quality. For office documents, the speed rating is a useful headline, but it does not show how the printer will perform with your specific mix of pages.
Does the PA2101cx have Wi-Fi?
No Wi-Fi capability is listed for the PA2101cx itself in Kyocera’s cited Asia specification. It lists USB 2.0 High Speed and 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T Ethernet. The same family information assigns 802.11 b/g/n/ac wireless LAN and Wi-Fi Direct to the Wi-Fi model, the PA2101cwx. Do not assume that a seller’s family-level description applies to the PA2101cx.

Kyocera lists AirPrint, Mopria, KYOCERA Mobile Print and KYOCERA MyPanel among the family’s mobile-printing options. That listing does not make the PA2101cx a wireless printer: a phone or computer’s path to the printer depends on the model and network connection. If you need direct wireless printing, confirm the exact cwx model and local configuration.

Paper capacity, duplexing and media
The cited Asia specification lists a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray as standard input. It gives a maximum capacity of 550 sheets for a configuration using the main unit, one optional PF-5110 feeder and the multipurpose tray.

Which toner does the PA2101cx use?
Kyocera’s Asia consumables page lists two toner families for the PA2101cx family. The stated yields are manufacturer figures under ISO/IEC 19798, not independently measured page counts.

The cited page also states a startup toner capacity of 1,200 pages for black and 1,200 pages for each color. These regional figures do not establish how many pages a particular user will get, because coverage and print conditions affect consumption. Before ordering PA2101cx replacement toner, match the printer’s exact model and the cartridge suffix for your market; availability and cartridge compatibility can vary by region.
The yield figures help estimate replacement frequency, but they are not enough to calculate running cost. That requires local cartridge prices and a realistic estimate of your printing volume.

Is the PA2101cx worth buying?
It is a reasonable candidate if you want a compact color laser printer with manufacturer-rated 21 ppm A4 output, automatic duplexing, Ethernet networking and a standard 300-sheet combined input capacity. A wired office setup can make its lack of listed Wi-Fi immaterial; a home or shared workspace relying on wireless printing should consider the separate PA2101cwx instead.
Before comparing it with another printer, check these factors together rather than relying on page speed alone:
- Whether the exact model includes the wired or wireless connections you need.
- Duplex support for the sizes and paper weights you actually use.
- Standard and optional input capacity for your workload.
- Local prices and availability for compatible toner, including the right regional SKU.
- Local printer price and stock, which are not established by Kyocera’s cited specifications.
The available evidence does not establish tested print quality, real-world speed, or total cost of ownership.
