KStarCoin (KSC) was presented as a digital token for KStarLive’s proposed Hallyu fan community, with plans for content rewards, concert crowdfunding and ticketing, gifts to idols, and K-beauty purchases. The project described KSC as an Ethereum ERC-20 token in 2018, then announced a transition to Luniverse in 2019. Those historical announcements do not establish that the services launched, that the migration completed, or that KSC works on either network today.
What was KStarCoin intended to do?
KStarCoin’s whitepaper framed the project around Hallyu—the Korean Wave—and a community in which fan activity could create value. It proposed rewarding people for activities such as creating, reading, and sharing content. Concert crowdfunding and event tickets
The whitepaper also proposed using KSC for concert crowdfunding and event ticketing. The project argued that crowdfunding could help organizers gauge demand before committing to an event, while blockchain ticket records might improve transparency and address fraud or resale problems. Gifts and K-beauty purchases
A June 2018 project-authored article listed further intended uses: crowdfunding concerts and fan meetings, trading event tickets, sending gifts to idols, and purchasing K-beauty products through KStarLive’s associated shopping service. It also anticipated that KSC would become tradable for other currencies. The article describes plans; it does not establish that any of these features launched or remain available. What technology was KStarCoin based on?
Ethereum ERC-20 as described in 2018
In an April 2018 interview, KStarLive CTO TaeHyoung Kim described KStarCoin as issued on Ethereum using the ERC-20 token standard. The interview positioned the token as a way to consume and participate in Korean Wave content through a fan-community platform. It also discussed an account-recovery approach for KStarLive; that statement applies to the project’s described account support and should not be taken as a general feature of blockchain tokens or confirmation of a current recovery service. Kim summarized the project’s rationale this way: “Until today, cryptocurrencies only used for investing and never put to use in real life. Our mission is making an ecosystem where new value grows out of actual usage.” This is his statement in the project-authored interview, not an independently verified assessment of cryptocurrency use as a whole.

The 2019 Luniverse transition announcement
On August 6, 2019, a KStarCoin project post announced that KStarLive was transitioning KSC from Ethereum to Luniverse. It told holders of ERC-20 KSC to deposit tokens through an account in the KStarLive app; according to the post, the described swap program would then recognize and convert them to Luniverse-based KSC. This documents an announced procedure, not proof that the migration finished or that the app, swap, or resulting token remains available. KStarCoin is going to Luniverse
The available project materials support this historical sequence, but not a technical comparison of Ethereum and Luniverse for KSC. They do not establish relative performance, security, or decentralization, nor do they confirm which network currently supports the token.

What is known about KStarCoin today?
A current CoinMarketCap listing repeats the description of KStarCoin as KStarLive’s ERC-20 cryptocurrency and includes claims about fan rewards, peer-to-peer transactions, NFTs, and ticketing. That secondary listing does not resolve the conflict with KStarCoin’s 2019 Luniverse transition announcement, and it is not confirmation of current network support or working services. The reviewed sources do not confirm the present status of the KStarLive app, completion of the token migration, current exchange availability, or live KSC use cases. The 2019 deposit-and-swap directions are historical; they are not a basis for depositing, buying, swapping, or trading tokens now.
