Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) said it received a GST order on 9 October 2026 demanding a penalty of ₹1.05 crore over alleged excess availment of Input Tax Credit for FY 2021–22. The company said it plans to appeal, arguing that the authority did not consider its reply and supporting documents. In its 9 October 2026 disclosure, KPIL reported receiving the order at about 3:58 p.m. IST. The company described it as an order under section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, read with relevant provisions of the State GST Act and rules. The matter concerns an allegation of excess availment of Input Tax Credit during FY 2021–22; that is the allegation reported by KPIL, not an independently established finding here.

KPIL reported a penalty demand of ₹1.05 crore. The disclosure also mentions tax and interest but does not quantify either amount, so ₹1.05 crore should not be read as the total demand. KPIL said the penalty had no significant impact on the company; that is the company’s assessment.

Will KPIL appeal the order?
KPIL said it would appeal before the Appellate Authority within the prescribed timelines.
