The Kmart Anko EV-PH666-S222 is a lightweight cordless stick vacuum with promising results for pet hair and car cleaning, but its carpet performance is a concern. CHOICE reported that it was worse on carpet than a cheaper Anko model in lab testing published on 3 September 2024. It may suit a smaller home with mostly hard floors or a need for a secondary cleaner; the available evidence is not strong enough to recommend it as a carpet-heavy household’s main vacuum.
What the EV-PH666-S222 review says
CHOICE’s buying guide, last updated 3 September 2024, reports a 66% CHOICE Expert Rating for the EV-PH666-S222. In its lab testing, CHOICE found it easier to use than the $79 Anko 2-in-1 V8260-12A and marginally better on hard floors, but worse on carpet. The guide also says the EV-PH666-S222 scored well for pet hair and car cleaning, while placing toward the bottom of CHOICE’s stick-vacuum review.

CHOICE says its stick-vacuum assessments cover cleaning on hard floors, carpet and cars; pet hair; corners and edges; ease of use; and noise. The public information does not disclose this model’s individual scores for those categories, so the overall 66% rating should not be mistaken for a specific carpet, runtime or noise result. The findings are from 2024, not a new test of current models.

That is one owner’s anecdote, not a controlled test identified as being of the EV-PH666-S222, and should not be treated as representative of this exact model.

CHOICE’s exact-model page lists these specifications and included items. Its displayed $99 price is a page figure, not a live Kmart quote.

The Kmart-hosted Rev 1 manual specifies a six-cell, 22.2 V DC lithium-ion battery rated at 2200 mAh and 48.48 Wh. It identifies the pack as non-removable and names the supplied charger as model ZD12D260050AU, with 100–240 V AC input and 26.0 V / 500 mA output. The manual says specifications or components can change without notice, so check the model and revision on the physical unit.

Who might find it a good fit?
Consider it if
- You value a 1.84 kg cleaner that is easier to handle than the comparison model in CHOICE’s testing.
- You want a cordless vacuum for car interiors or pet hair, areas where CHOICE reports favorable results.
- Your floors are mostly hard flooring and you are comfortable weighing the reported carpet weakness against the current price and your cleaning needs.
Look elsewhere if
- Your home has substantial carpet and you need a dependable primary vacuum. The published comparison found this model worse on carpet than the cheaper V8260-12A, and CHOICE’s guide warns more broadly that tested Anko sticks generally struggled on carpet.
- You need confirmed runtime, noise levels or detailed carpet and hard-floor scores before deciding. Those figures are not available on the public exact-model page.
CHOICE’s summary of its Anko stick-vacuum findings is: “In the case of Anko stick vacuums, our experts found you get what you pay for”. That is CHOICE’s editorial wording, not a model-specific performance score or guarantee that another vacuum will suit your home better.

The 2024 comparison does not establish how this vacuum performs against every model currently sold. Compare current independent results and your own requirements rather than treating the displayed price or battery voltage as a measure of cleaning ability. Useful points to check include:

How to get a replacement filter or accessory
The manual says filters need regular cleaning to maintain suction and help prevent overheating or damage. It says a new filter can be purchased through customer service. For replacement accessories, it lists 1300 105 888 in Australia and 09 8870 447 in New Zealand; the filter instructions also give [email protected]. These are contact details printed in the manual, not confirmation that a specific part is currently in stock. Give customer service the model number and check compatibility before ordering.

The manual identifies the battery as non-removable and says: “Only use the Battery Charger which was supplied with this appliance.” Do not substitute an arbitrary charger or battery; the manual warns that counterfeit or inferior batteries can create fire, personal-injury and property-damage risks.

For disposal, the manual says the battery pack must be removed before the appliance is discarded and advises contacting local waste management for recycling or disposal information. Check the current rules that apply where you live.
