Identify the exact model before comparing it
Kmart’s official manual identifies the appliance as model P90N28AP-S3. CHOICE uses the matching product name and model wording, while ProductReview.com.au lists the same MPN for its Anko 28L listing. Similar 28L microwaves are not necessarily the same appliance, so check the label on the unit or its paperwork rather than relying on capacity or appearance alone.

The 900W figure is microwave output, not the electrical input drawn by the appliance; the manual lists input consumption separately as 1400W. Capacity alone also does not tell you whether a particular dish will fit: check the 30cm turntable measurement and the usable cavity if your cookware is large.

Measure the bench and leave airflow space
The manual calls for at least 20cm above the microwave, 10cm behind it and 5cm at each side. CHOICE reports the same clearances. These are installation clearances, not extra appliance dimensions: account for them when checking the available space, and do not cover or block the ventilation openings.

What the available testing and owner comments can establish
CHOICE testing
CHOICE lists test categories that include cooking performance, ease of use, vegetables, defrosting mince and a whole chicken, reheating, melting, grilling, and visibility through the door. Its public page hides the expert rating and numerical results behind member access. The listed categories alone do not establish how well the microwave performs, so they do not support a positive or negative tested verdict.
Owner reviews
At the time represented by its listing, ProductReview.com.au showed 39 reviews and a 3.3 rating for the Anko 28L page with P90N28AP-S3 as the verified MPN. The page includes both reports of long-term positive use and reports of early faults. These are individual owner accounts and a platform aggregate, not a controlled reliability study or a representative failure rate.

How to compare it with a current replacement
Kmart has a separate listing for a 28L microwave showing dimensions of 28.3 × 53.4 × 38.8cm. That listing does not establish that the product is a successor to P90N28AP-S3 or that it is the same model. Treat it as a separate appliance unless its model number confirms otherwise.
For any alternative, compare the exact model’s:
- Capacity, cavity dimensions and turntable diameter, especially if you use larger dishes.
- Microwave output power and cooking controls or functions you need.
- External dimensions plus the required ventilation clearances.
- Warranty and support terms.
- Current price and local availability.
