Its manual identifies a main filter and a pre-motor filter and gives specific care instructions. ProductReview.com.au marks the 1200W model discontinued and displays customer-submitted opinions, which are useful context but not a reliable measure of failure rates or cleaning performance.
What is the Kmart VC-9790?
The VC-9790 is the model number identified in an ANKO household vacuum manual record associated with the legacy Kmart 1200W upright. The manual is hosted by a document aggregator, not an official Kmart page, so check the label on your machine and the manual supplied with it before relying on model-specific details. A reproduction of the manual also connects VC-9790 with the Kmart 1200W upright (Manualzz).

If considering a used unit, inspect that exact machine rather than treating the wattage or online ratings as a performance guarantee. Check its condition, cleaning head, filters, cord and operation, and confirm that model-compatible replacement parts can actually be obtained.
Which filters does the VC-9790 use, and how do you clean them?
The VC-9790 manual describes a main filter and a pre-motor filter. It instructs owners to wash the filters, let them dry completely, and never operate the vacuum with wet or damp filters. The VC-9790 manual states a 12-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, subject to following the manual’s instructions.
