Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] is the current native PS5 package. It combines HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. That gives you the principal numbered adventures, several important side stories and one film, but it is not every Kingdom Hearts release. The official contents list does not include Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, and two entries in the 1.5+2.5 bundle are cinematic compilations rather than playable games.
What the PS5 Kingdom Hearts collection actually is
The PlayStation Store lists KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III] as a native PS5 product. Square Enix describes it as three existing collections sold together:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-
- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
- KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind, including the Re Mind downloadable content
The “I–III” name describes the package’s coverage of the main numbered saga, not a promise that every game, rhythm title, mobile release or story movie is present. The bundle’s nine named entries across 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 also are not nine full games: two are HD video compilations and one is a standalone movie.
Everything in HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX
This is the largest part of the package. Square Enix lists six experiences, but their formats differ substantially.

| Listed entry | What you get | Playable? |
|---|---|---|
| KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX | Expanded edition of the original Kingdom Hearts adventure, with the Final Mix content and balance changes. | Yes |
| KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories | Remade, fully 3D version of the card-based middle chapter connecting the first game and Kingdom Hearts II. | Yes |
| KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days | HD remastered cinematics presenting the Nintendo DS story. | No; cinematic compilation |
| KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX | Expanded Final Mix edition of Kingdom Hearts II. | Yes |
| KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX | Expanded prequel told through three playable character campaigns. | Yes |
| KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded | HD remastered cinematics presenting the Nintendo DS story. | No; cinematic compilation |
The four playable games
Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Birth by Sleep Final Mix are the package’s core playable games. They cover the original release, its direct sequel, a bridge chapter and a prequel. Re:Chain of Memories uses a card-deck combat system rather than the conventional real-time attacks used by the numbered games, while Birth by Sleep splits its narrative among three protagonists. Those differences are useful to know before assuming every component plays like Kingdom Hearts I, II or III.
What “HD remastered cinematics” means
358/2 Days and Re:coded are not downloadable PS5 games hidden behind a separate menu. Square Enix identifies both as HD remastered cinematics: edited, high-definition video sequences that convey their stories. You can watch them for narrative context, but you should not count them as playable entries when estimating how many games the collection contains.
Everything in HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
The second collection contains two playable experiences and one movie:

| KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD | Playable game | HD version of the Nintendo 3DS adventure, with Sora and Riku taking their Mark of Mastery exam. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage– | Playable game | Shorter, modern-era episode that leads directly toward Kingdom Hearts III. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover | Movie | CG film explaining the Foretellers and the events surrounding the ancient Keyblade era. |
The movie is important for lore, but it is not an interactive campaign. As with the 1.5+2.5 cinematics, include it in the collection’s story material, not in a count of playable games.
Kingdom Hearts III and the Re Mind expansion
The third part is listed as KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC). It combines the full Kingdom Hearts III game with the Re Mind downloadable content. In practical terms, a buyer choosing this PS5 collection is not limited to the base Kingdom Hearts III listing: the bundle description explicitly names the expansion.
Re Mind adds a late-game perspective on the final battle, additional scenes and a demanding post-game boss sequence. It is an add-on to Kingdom Hearts III, not a separate numbered game, so the collection still contains one playable Kingdom Hearts III title even though the expansion substantially extends it.
How many playable games are included?
If you count only interactive software, the official lists amount to seven playable games or episodes: four from 1.5+2.5, two from 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts III. The package also includes two cinematic compilations and one movie. That distinction matters when comparing descriptions that casually call all nine 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 entries “games.”

- Playable from 2.8: Dream Drop Distance HD and 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–.
- Playable from the third collection: Kingdom Hearts III, with Re Mind DLC.
- Video rather than gameplay: 358/2 Days, Re:coded and χ Back Cover.
This is a format count, not a claim about campaign length or the amount of content in each title. The two cinematic compilations may be essential to following the plot, but they do not offer the original DS gameplay.

What is missing from the PS5 collection?
Melody of Memory is not named in the bundle listing
KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory does not appear in the official contents lists for Collection [I–III]. The precise conclusion is that it is omitted from this bundle’s published contents. That does not establish whether it is available separately on PS5, nor does it prove that every other Kingdom Hearts release is unavailable on the platform.
Melody of Memory is a rhythm-action game built around songs and scenes from the series. If that format is the reason you are buying the collection, check its separate platform listing rather than assuming the “I–III” label includes it.
The package is not a complete franchise archive
The three-part structure defines the scope. The official pages name the included collections; they do not advertise an exhaustive archive of every Kingdom Hearts story, remake, mobile title, rhythm game or promotional film. Entries outside those lists should be treated as separate products unless a current storefront specifically says otherwise.

New PS5 Collection versus the older PS4 All-In-One Package
The older KINGDOM HEARTS All-In-One Package is listed by PlayStation as a PS4 product. PlayStation says that PS4 software is playable on PS5, while warning that some features available on PS4 may be absent when it is played on the newer console. The newer Collection [I–III] is presented as a native PS5 product.
| Comparison point | Collection [I–III] | All-In-One Package |
|---|---|---|
| Store platform label | Native PS5 product | PS4 product playable on PS5 |
| Named components | HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) | HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III |
| Re Mind in the bundle description | Explicitly named | Not named in the listed contents |
| PS5 feature qualification | Sold as a PS5 release | PlayStation warns that some PS4 features may be absent on PS5 |
| Physical-edition download note | Square Enix requires internet access and an additional data download | Requirement not stated in the cited listing |
Do not treat the two names as interchangeable. A PS4 package that runs through backward compatibility is a different listing from a PS5-native collection, and the bundle descriptions differ over whether Re Mind is included.

Buying a disc does not mean every byte is on the disc. The SQUARE ENIX Store states: “To play the physical version of KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III], an internet connection and additional data download are required.” Plan an internet connection for the initial setup and enough storage for the download before opening the game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Confirm that your console has internet access during installation.
- Leave sufficient free storage for the additional data, rather than relying only on the disc’s printed capacity.
- If you are buying second-hand, verify that the disc is the PS5 edition and that your account and console can complete the required download.
The cited product information does not specify the download size, so do not assume a particular number of gigabytes.

Release dates, storefront regions and pricing
The US PlayStation Store page displays a release date of October 6, 2026. Square Enix’s North American Store page displays October 8, 2026. Both dates are published by their respective storefronts, and the available information does not explain why they differ. Use the date shown on the store where you intend to buy instead of presenting one date as a universal launch date.
The PlayStation listing also mentions 48-hour early access for qualifying preorders. The qualification is important: the listing does not say that every preorder receives early access.
Prices and stock vary by regional storefront and can change. No single dollar figure should be treated as a worldwide price. Check the live listing for your country, edition (digital or physical), taxes and current availability.
Who should buy this collection?
Choose it if you want the main saga in one PS5-native purchase
This is the straightforward choice for someone starting the series on PS5 who wants the numbered adventures, the principal prequel material and Re Mind in one package. It also provides the story films needed to fill in the gaps left by games that are represented only through cinematics.
Check separately if you want every playable spin-off
If your definition of “all Kingdom Hearts games” includes Melody of Memory or any release outside the three named collections, the bundle alone is not sufficient. Compare the exact title list of any additional purchase with the official Collection [I–III] contents rather than relying on the Roman-numeral branding.
Prefer the PS4 package only for a specific compatibility reason
The All-In-One Package can run on PS5 as PS4 software, but PlayStation’s warning about potentially missing PS4 features makes it a less direct match for someone specifically seeking a PS5-native release. Its listing also names Kingdom Hearts III without naming Re Mind, so verify the included entitlements before buying.
Quick buyer checklist
- Confirm that the store page says KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III] and identifies PS5, not only PS4 backward compatibility.
- Check that the listing names Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) if the expansion is important to you.
- Expect four playable titles plus two cinematic compilations in 1.5+2.5.
- Expect two playable entries and one movie in 2.8.
- Do not count 358/2 Days, Re:coded or χ Back Cover as full playable games.
- Look for Melody of Memory separately; it is not named in this bundle’s contents.
- For the physical edition, arrange internet access and storage for the required additional download.
- Use your regional storefront for the current date, price and stock.
Bottom line
On PS5, Collection [I–III] is the most concentrated official package for the core Kingdom Hearts story: four playable games in 1.5+2.5, two playable entries in 2.8, Kingdom Hearts III with Re Mind, plus three pieces of cinematic story material. It is not an all-franchise archive, and Melody of Memory is absent from the published contents list. Treat the PS5-native label, the Re Mind wording, the physical download requirement and your regional storefront’s date as the decisive buying details.
