The modern Kingdom Hearts collection covers the three numbered adventures and most major console-connected stories, but it is not eleven complete, playable games. The package combines six entries in HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, three pieces in HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III with its Re Mind DLC. Two entries are presented as cinematics, one is a film, and some mobile or spin-off releases remain outside the collection. For a first playthrough, use release order rather than the menu order; allow at least 200 hours for the full package, with the actual total varying widely by play style.
What the Kingdom Hearts collection includes
Square Enix describes the current package as an opportunity to “Explore six KINGDOM HEARTS titles starting with the very first adventure!” In practice, the collection is divided into three products. Depending on your platform and edition, they may be sold together as the complete package or separately.

HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX
| Entry | How it is delivered | What you should expect |
|---|---|---|
| Kingdom Hearts Final Mix | Full playable game | The enhanced version of the first numbered adventure, with the Final Mix content. |
| Re:Chain of Memories | Full playable game | The card-based sequel that bridges the first game and Kingdom Hearts II. |
| Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix | Full playable game | The expanded version of the second numbered adventure. |
| 358/2 Days | HD cutscene compilation | A movie-style presentation of the story rather than the original Nintendo DS game. |
| Birth by Sleep Final Mix | Full playable game | A multi-character prequel with three campaigns. |
| Re:coded | HD cutscene compilation | A cinematic retelling of the story rather than a playable version of the original release. |
The six items are not equivalent products. Three are complete games you control, while 358/2 Days and Re:coded are edited cinematics. They preserve important story material, but you cannot play their original missions, systems or progression in this collection.
HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
| Entry | How it is delivered | Role in the series |
|---|---|---|
| Dream Drop Distance HD | Full playable game | An HD version of the Nintendo 3DS adventure and a direct setup for the later saga. |
| χ Back Cover | Film | An animated movie explaining the Foretellers-era backstory. |
| 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – | Short playable episode | Square Enix calls it “A short episode that links to KINGDOM HEARTS III.” |
0.2 is substantially shorter than a numbered game, but it is interactive and uses it to connect the events of Birth by Sleep with Kingdom Hearts III. χ Back Cover, by contrast, is watched like a movie.

Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind
This package contains the complete third numbered game and the Re Mind DLC chapter. Re Mind is additional content for Kingdom Hearts III, not a separate numbered release. Check the product name carefully: a listing for Kingdom Hearts III alone does not necessarily include the DLC.
Is this a complete Kingdom Hearts collection?
It is the most practical way to access the main console-era saga, but “complete” should not be read as “every historical release is present as a full game.” The package leaves out some mobile and other spin-off releases. The official collection description does not provide an exhaustive list of every omitted episode, so it is more accurate to say that some mobile and spin-off stories are outside the bundle.
Several stories are represented in reduced form. 358/2 Days and Re:coded appear as HD cinematics, and χ Back Cover is a movie. That means the collection gives you their narrative context without reproducing the original gameplay, maps, missions or progression systems. If you want to experience those original versions specifically, you need access to releases or services outside this package; availability depends on platform, region and whether the original service still operates.

Recommended first-playthrough order
Use release order for your first run. MeriStation’s guidance is that rearranging the games can spoil reveals that were designed to land later. The collection’s menu order is not identical to this narrative sequence, particularly around Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days. Select each item manually rather than simply opening the next tile.
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. Start with the first numbered adventure so the setting, characters and central mystery are introduced in their original order.
- Re:Chain of Memories. Play this directly after the first game; it explains the transition into the next chapter and introduces mechanics that differ from the numbered entries.
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. This is the second numbered game and the intended payoff for the opening arc.
- Re:coded cinematics. Watch the HD story compilation at this point. It is not a playable campaign in the collection.
- 358/2 Days cinematics. Continue with the HD movie presentation. Watching it here follows the recommended release-oriented sequence even though its events overlap earlier material.
- Birth by Sleep Final Mix. Play all three character routes; together they supply the prequel history needed for the later games.
- Dream Drop Distance HD. This playable entry advances the story toward the third numbered game.
- 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –. Play this short linking episode after Dream Drop Distance.
- χ Back Cover. Watch the film before moving to the third numbered game so its historical setup is in place.
- Kingdom Hearts III. Play the main campaign only after the preceding entries; it assumes considerable knowledge of their characters and conflicts.
- Re Mind DLC. Finish the base game first, then start the additional chapter. Its placement after the main campaign avoids story and gameplay spoilers.
Chronological order can be an interesting second-playthrough experiment, but it is not the safer introduction. The series frequently reveals information out of chronological sequence on purpose.
How long does the collection take?
TechRadar published an estimate of 200 hours or more for the full Integrum Masterpiece package in 2026. That is an editorial estimate, not a completion guarantee or a figure supplied by Square Enix. Your total can be substantially shorter or longer.
- Optional content: secret bosses, extra challenges, synthesis and side objectives add time beyond the critical path.
- Difficulty: higher settings and repeated boss attempts increase the clock, while an easier run can move faster.
- Exploration: revisiting worlds, collecting items and completing optional objectives can add many hours.
- Cinematic entries: watching every scene in 358/2 Days, Re:coded and χ Back Cover takes less time than playing a full game, but skipping or stopping scenes changes the total.
- Different campaigns: Birth by Sleep requires three character routes for its complete story, rather than one short campaign.
There is no publisher-provided total playtime figure in the official collection information. Treat “200 hours or more” as a planning benchmark for seeing the whole package with a meaningful amount of optional material, not as a timer you must hit.

Platforms, editions and format checks
Square Enix’s current collection page lists digital storefronts for Steam, Epic, Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox. It also lists physical purchase paths for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation. Exact availability can differ by country, edition and date.
Before buying, verify the following on the specific store page for your region:
- Whether the listing contains all three products or only one compilation.
- Whether Kingdom Hearts III includes Re Mind rather than offering it separately.
- Whether the edition is digital, a physical release or a code that requires a download.
- Required storage, downloads and account requirements for the selected platform.
- Language options, age rating and any regional restrictions.
- For physical copies, current inventory and whether the package is the edition you intend to purchase.
Store pages and stock change, so use the live platform listing rather than relying on an old box image or a retailer’s abbreviated title.

- Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]
| Comparison point | Question to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Playable versus cinematic content | Which entries are full games, and which are movies or cutscene compilations? | A “six-title” label does not mean six playable campaigns. |
| Re Mind | Is the DLC included with Kingdom Hearts III? | Some products contain only the base third game. |
| Platform and format | Is it available for your console or PC storefront, and is it digital or physical? | Features, storage, delivery and stock depend on the platform and edition. |
| Outside stories | Does the listing claim access to mobile or spin-off releases? | The standard collection does not include every historical mobile or spin-off title, and some stories are represented only by film or cinematics. |
For a first-time player who wants the main saga, the full three-part package is the straightforward choice. If you already own one compilation, check its exact six- or three-entry contents before paying for a duplicate. A listing that says “collection” without naming Re Mind or identifying the cinematic entries deserves extra scrutiny.

Do I need to play every entry?
For the clearest first experience, follow the full recommended sequence. The two HD cinematic compilations and χ Back Cover are shorter than the playable games but fill important narrative gaps. Skipping them may leave character relationships and historical events unexplained when you reach Kingdom Hearts III.
Are 358/2 Days and Re:coded playable?
Not in this collection. Both are HD cutscene compilations. You can watch their stories, but you do not play the original mission structure.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Is χ Back Cover a game?
No. It is a movie included in HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.
Best Value
- A new collection of the first three Kingdom Hearts titles in gorgeous high definition including the following
- Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD reMastered cinematics)
Is 0.2 Birth by Sleep a full-length game?
No. Square Enix describes it as a short episode linking to Kingdom Hearts III. It is playable, but much smaller than a numbered installment.
Can I use chronological order instead?
You can, especially on a replay, but release order is recommended for a first playthrough because the original sequence protects intended reveals.
Does the collection include every mobile game?
No complete list of omitted mobile episodes is stated on the official collection page. The safe conclusion is that some mobile and spin-off releases remain outside the package, while selected stories are covered through movies or cinematics.
