Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf you are installing the current Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] on Nintendo Switch 2, plan for 127.8 GB for the three listed components: 53.8 GB for HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, 27.6 GB for HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and 46.4 GB for Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. That 127.8 GB is a calculation from Nintendo’s current component pages, not a single combined figure shown on the collection page. On PC, Steam’s published 60 GB requirement applies only to HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, not the complete collection. Xbox and PlayStation listings confirm the bundle’s contents but do not publish a combined size, so use the exact store listing or your console’s download screen for those versions.
How much storage does the Kingdom Hearts Collection need?
The answer depends on the platform and on whether a listing covers one game or the entire bundle. The current Nintendo Switch 2 pages provide the clearest component-by-component figures. Adding them gives a practical planning total of 127.8 GB.

| Collection component | Current published size | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- | 53.8 GB | Nintendo Switch 2 listing, Nintendo, 2026 |
| KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue | 27.6 GB | Nintendo Switch 2 listing, Nintendo, 2026 |
| KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) | 46.4 GB | Nintendo Switch 2 listing, Nintendo, 2026 |
| Calculated total | 127.8 GB | Sum of the three current Nintendo component pages |
Keep at least the full 127.8 GB free before attempting to install all three Switch 2 components. Nintendo’s listings do not quantify additional temporary working space used during downloading, unpacking, verification or updates. Because of that, 127.8 GB should be treated as the listed content total and minimum planning target, not a guarantee that an installation will succeed with only a few megabytes remaining.
Why the number may differ from older articles
A June 13, 2026 Nintendo Life report gave pre-release estimates of 54.2 GB, 26.8 GB and 45.2 GB for the three components, with a 131 GB bundle estimate. That report warned that the numbers could change before launch. Nintendo’s current pages now show 53.8 GB, 27.6 GB and 46.4 GB, so the older 131 GB figure is superseded for present-day planning. It should not be added to the current component total or presented as a second current requirement.

- Nintendo Switch 2 uses a new standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately). This kind of memory card is needed for faster access speeds and to ensure games will run smoothly.
- Please note: Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If the microSD cards you have used for Nintendo Switch do not support microSD Express standards, you cannot use them with Nintendo Switch 2.
What is included in each collection?
Knowing what occupies the storage helps you decide whether the complete bundle is necessary on a crowded console. Nintendo describes the package as three collections rather than one monolithic game file.
HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX — 53.8 GB
This component contains five playable or story entries and two video compilations:
- KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
- Re:Chain of Memories
- KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
- Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
- HD cutscene compilation for 358/2 Days
- HD cutscene compilation for Re:coded
HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue — 27.6 GB
The second collection includes:
- Dream Drop Distance HD
- The χ Back Cover movie
- 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –
Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind — 46.4 GB
The third component is Kingdom Hearts III with the Re Mind additional chapter included in the bundle component listing. Nintendo’s 46.4 GB figure covers that listed package, rather than being a size for the base game on another platform.

Platform-by-platform storage guidance
Nintendo Switch 2
Use the three current Nintendo figures and their 127.8 GB sum when planning the complete collection. Do not treat the sum as a universal file size for other consoles or PC. Store data on the console’s internal storage or on a compatible microSD Express card, provided the card has enough free capacity.
PC through Steam
Steam lists 60 GB available space for HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, with 60 GB shown for both minimum and recommended requirements in the 2024 listing. That is a requirement for that component alone. The reviewed official information does not establish a complete PC total for all three collections, so do not multiply the 60 GB figure or label it as the bundle’s size.
Xbox and PlayStation
The reviewed Xbox and PlayStation bundle pages identify the same three collection components but do not state a combined download or installation size. Console storage can also vary with patches, language packages, compression and regional or edition differences. Open the product page for your exact platform and edition, then confirm the size shown in the console’s download queue before freeing space. Nintendo Switch 2 figures should not be transferred to Xbox or PlayStation.

How to check and expand Switch 2 storage
Check free space before buying or downloading
- Open System Settings on the Switch 2.
- Select Data Management.
- Review available space in the console’s internal memory and any inserted microSD Express card.
- Compare the available amount with the component you intend to install. For all three components, use the 127.8 GB calculated total as the baseline and avoid filling the device completely.
The settings screen reports current free capacity, which is more useful than relying on an old article or a package-size estimate. If an update is offered, check the download screen again because update data can change the space needed at that moment.

Nintendo says downloaded software data and add-on or update data, excluding save data, can be stored on a microSD Express card. Switch 2 supports cards up to 2 TB. The card must carry the SD Express logo; an ordinary microSD card that worked as game storage on the original Switch is not usable for Switch 2 game storage.
- Buy a card identified specifically as microSD Express rather than a standard microSD card.
- Insert the card before starting a large download if internal memory is insufficient.
- Format or prepare the card using the console’s prompts if Switch 2 requests it; formatting erases existing data on that card.
- Keep enough free capacity for future patches instead of treating the card’s advertised capacity as fully available.
A microSD Express card is optional. If the internal storage has enough room, you can install the collection without one. Save data remains in the console’s internal memory rather than moving to the card under Nintendo’s stated storage rules.

Game-Key Card installation requirements
If your physical edition is a Game-Key Card, Nintendo’s general Switch 2 instructions require an internet connection for the first download. The game data is stored on the console’s internal memory or a microSD Express card, and the card must be inserted whenever you play from that storage.
- Confirm on the packaging or storefront description that the edition is a Game-Key Card.
- Connect the Switch 2 to a reliable internet connection before inserting or launching the card for the first time.
- Insert a compatible microSD Express card first if internal storage is not sufficient.
- Start the initial download and wait for the console to complete the required game data.
- Leave the card inserted when launching the game if the installation resides on it.
These are general Game-Key Card rules. Check the specific edition’s packaging and store description for its exact download requirement; not every physical product uses the same format.

The download will not start
- Recheck System Settings → Data Management and compare free capacity with the selected component or the 127.8 GB all-component baseline.
- Confirm that the console is connected to the internet, especially for a Game-Key Card first download.
- Check whether another game or system update is using bandwidth or storage and pause it if necessary.
- Restart the console and retry after verifying that the correct microSD Express card is inserted.
The console says there is not enough space during installation
Installation can require temporary working space in addition to the published content figure, but Nintendo does not provide a fixed extra amount for this collection. Free more space than the listed size, remove or archive software you can redownload later, or move eligible downloaded data to a microSD Express card. Do not assume that deleting save data is the solution: save data is kept in console memory and is separate from downloadable game data.

The card is not recognized
- Verify the card has the SD Express logo.
- Remove and reinsert it with the console powered down or following Nintendo’s on-screen instructions.
- Check for damage or contamination on the card and slot.
- Remember that an older standard microSD card from the original Switch is not a substitute for microSD Express game storage on Switch 2.
You want to install only one part of the collection
The official bundle pages reviewed do not explain whether Switch 2, Xbox or PlayStation allows selective installation of individual components from the bundle. Do not promise that deleting one collection will preserve the others or that every platform offers separate download choices. Use the platform’s current download-management screen to see what controls are available for your edition.
Can you install the collection with exactly 127.8 GB free?
It may be enough for the listed Switch 2 content, but it is not a safe guarantee. The 127.8 GB figure is the arithmetic sum of Nintendo’s three component listings. Nintendo does not state how much temporary working space is needed for unpacking, verification or updates. A practical installation plan therefore leaves additional free capacity without assigning an invented fixed buffer. The more important rule is to use the current platform listing and avoid starting with storage that is already nearly full.
Which storage number should you trust?
- For Switch 2, use the current Nintendo component pages: 53.8 GB, 27.6 GB and 46.4 GB.
- For Steam, use the listing for the exact component or package you are purchasing; the documented 60 GB applies only to HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX.
- For Xbox or PlayStation, read the current platform-specific listing and the console’s download screen.
- Ignore older pre-release totals when they conflict with a current store listing.
- Reserve extra room for updates and installation operations, because no official fixed buffer is published for this collection.
That approach prevents the most common mistake: treating a single-game requirement, an early estimate or one platform’s compressed package as a universal Kingdom Hearts Collection size.
