The Kindle setting behind that more book-like transition is Page Turn Animation. On a supported Kindle e-reader and in a supported book, open the book, tap the top of the screen, then choose Aa → More → Page Turn Animation and switch it on. Amazon describes it as a directional transition—not a realistic paper curl—and availability depends on the device and book.

Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft User Guide says the feature “adds a transition to the page turn that provides directionality to the page transition, making it easier to know if you are moving forward or backwards in the book.” In practical terms, the transition gives a visual cue about the direction of movement; Amazon does not describe it as a simulation of paper curling.

Why the setting may be missing
Do not assume the toggle is present on every Kindle or in every title. Amazon says Kindle display settings vary by device model, and its Colorsoft guide says Page Turn Animation works only with supported books. The official guidance cited here does not provide a complete model-by-model compatibility list.

Check the book: Look for the option while reading another title. Book support can affect whether the feature is available.

Confirm the reading context: A Kindle e-reader and the Kindle app have separate interfaces, so do not use instructions for one as proof that the other has the same controls.

Using the Kindle app instead
In the Kindle app, open a book and check the app’s Aa reading options. Amazon’s app support explains that reading settings live in the app’s Aa menu. In a 2024 Amazon forum response about the Android app, an Amazon staff member gave the path Aa → More → Page turn animation. App menus can differ by platform or version, so treat that path as a useful place to check rather than a guarantee for every app installation.

Page Turn Animation changes the transition as you advance or go back through pages. Page Flip is a separate navigation and overview feature: Amazon describes it as a way to browse or preview pages while saving your place. Page refresh is also a separate display setting, not another name for the animation.
