A user-posted deal roundup reports the Kindle Colorsoft at $189.99 for Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, but the price and live Amazon listing have not been independently confirmed. The report also does not identify the model year or configuration, so check those details before buying.
What the reported Kindle Colorsoft deal includes
The reported price is $189.99, according to a 2026 user-posted roundup on Reddit. That is a reported offer, not an Amazon-confirmed live quote: the available information does not establish the current listing, stock, purchase eligibility, or whether the figure is for a standalone reader or a bundle.

Amazon scheduled Prime Big Deal Days for October 6–7, 2026, and described the event as featuring member-exclusive deals. Its event materials also mention a Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle. A bundle price is not the same as the price of the reader alone, so check the listing’s item name and included contents. Amazon’s event announcement provides the event context.
Check the model year and configuration before you buy
The deal report does not say which Colorsoft generation is on offer. Amazon announced a refreshed Kindle lineup in October 2026, shortly before the event, so do not assume that a listing refers to the original model or the refreshed one. Amazon’s 2026 Kindle lineup announcement establishes that a refreshed family was announced, but it does not identify the reported $189.99 item.
#1 Best Overall
- Read in color – The 7" Colorsoft display is high-contrast and easy on the eyes, with paper-like color that brings covers and content to life.
- A brand-new experience – The Kindle Colorsoft display is optimized for reading in color and is different from the Kindle Paperwhite display, which is optimized for black and white reading.
- Color your pages – Highlight your favorite scenes in yellow, orange, blue, and pink.
- Marathon reading – A single charge via USB-C lasts up to 8 weeks.
- Read in any light – Adjust the display from white to amber to read in bright sunlight or in the dark.
Amazon’s official fact sheet covers the 16 GB Colorsoft configuration and says its figures exclude other versions, bundles, and accessories. Those specifications should not be applied automatically to another generation or a bundle. Verify the model name, generation, storage, and included accessories on the product page. Amazon’s 16 GB Colorsoft fact sheet is specific to that configuration.
How to judge whether $189.99 is a good price for you
The main reason to choose Colorsoft over a black-and-white Kindle is the ability to read color content. If you mostly read standard novels, consider whether color is worth paying for in your use case; if color is important to the material you read, the feature may be more relevant. This is a purchase trade-off, not a claim that one model is better for every reader.

- More room to read, write, and think – Just 5.4mm thin and 400g light, with fluid performance and a large 11" display that gives you space to work comfortably.
- Get more out of your notes – Take notes in the built-in notebook, then use AI to find information, ask questions about what you’ve written, and generate summaries. You can also clean up handwriting or convert it to text.
Price context needs care: Amazon announced the original Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition at a $279.99 preorder price in 2024. That is its historical launch price, not evidence of today’s regular price or a direct comparison with the unidentified model in the deal report. Amazon’s 2024 launch announcement gives the original model’s launch context.

- Assess the deal against your need for color rather than treating the historical launch price as the current baseline.
What to verify on Amazon before checkout
- Open the Kindle Colorsoft listing and confirm its full model name, generation, and storage.
- Check that the price is $189.99 for the exact item in your cart, not a different configuration or bundle.
- Review stock, delivery information, and whether the offer requires Prime membership.
- Recheck the total at checkout; event pricing and availability can change.
If Amazon’s listing does not show the reported price for the model and contents you want, the roundup alone is not enough to establish that the deal is available to you.
