Genau darin liegt ihr Reiz, und genau dort wird es ergonomisch heikel: Der Hersteller nennt einen festen Gehäusewinkel von nur 2,8°, das Metallgehäuse wiegt laut Herstellerangabe 1724 g, und einen unabhängig gemessenen Ermüdungsvorteil gibt es nicht. Unser Urteil: Die Split-Bauweise ist ein echter Vorteil, doch die Ergonomie-Versprechen des Konzepts lösen sich erst ein, wenn Schreibtisch, Stuhl und Handgelenke zur Tastatur passen. Ausgerechnet dort liefert das Gerät weniger Unterstützung, als sein Konzept nahelegt.

Was Keychron verspricht
Auf der Produktseite schreibt Keychron: „With its split-body design, you can align each half perfectly with your shoulders, promoting a more neutral and relaxed typing posture.“ Sinngemäß: Die geteilte Bauweise erlaubt, jede Hälfte auf die eigene Schulter auszurichten, und fördert so eine neutralere, entspanntere Tippposition. Dazu gehört die Aussage, Nutzer könnten eine deutliche Verringerung der Muskelermüdung erleben. Das ist Marketingsprache des Herstellers. Eine unabhängige Messung dieses Effekts liegt nicht vor.
Der feste Winkel und die Bauhöhe
Die Höhendifferenz zwischen Vorder- und Rückseite beträgt 6,56 mm (17,83 mm minus 11,27 mm). Bei einer Gehäusetiefe von rund 134 mm ergibt das rechnerisch etwa 2,8°. Die Herstellerangabe ist damit in sich stimmig, sagt aber noch nichts über die Handgelenke aus.

Entscheidend ist, was obenauf kommt. Die Werte gelten ohne Keycaps; mit dem Double-Shot-PBT-Set steigt die Tastatur an, und das Keycap-Profil verändert die Handgelenkhaltung zusätzlich. Ob der flache Winkel zu Ihren Handgelenken und Ihrer Tischhöhe passt, lässt sich aus den Zahlen allein nicht ablesen. Die Herstellerangaben nennen keine zusätzliche Neigungsverstellung. Wer eine stärkere Neigung braucht, sollte vor dem Kauf prüfen, ob es Zubehör oder Füße dafür gibt.
Gewicht und Metallgehäuse
Mit 1724 g (laut Hersteller ±10 g) ist die Q11 Ultra 8K ein schweres Gerät. Das Gehäuse besteht aus CNC-Aluminium. Das wirkt wertig, bedeutet aber: Wer die Hälften häufig umsetzt, bewegt jedes Mal fast 1,7 kg Metall. Die Tastatur ist damit weniger für einen Schreibtisch gedacht, der oft umgebaut wird.

Platzbedarf und Schulterbreite
Zusammengeschoben misst das Gerät 345,08 mm in der Breite. Die Freiheit der Split-Bauweise bedeutet, dass die Hälften bei einer schulterbreiten Aufstellung deutlich weiter auseinanderliegen. Entscheidend ist also die nutzbare Schreibtischbreite, nicht die Angabe auf dem Datenblatt.
Setup: Was Sie vor dem Kauf prüfen sollten
- Schulterbreite messen: Messen Sie den Abstand zwischen den Außenkanten Ihrer Schultern. Das ist der Richtwert für die Position der beiden Hälften.
- Schreibtischbreite prüfen: Legen Sie die Hälften probeweise mit Abstand auf die Fläche, bevor Sie das Gerät bestellen. Die Gesamtbreite wächst mit dem Abstand.
- Tischhöhe und Stuhl abstimmen: Der feste Winkel wirkt nur im Zusammenspiel mit der Höhe Ihrer Unterarme. Prüfen Sie, ob Sie die Hände ohne Abknicken der Handgelenke auflegen können.
- Keycap-Höhe einrechnen: Die Bauhöhenwerte gelten ohne Keycaps. Das gewählte Keycap-Set verändert die tatsächliche Höhe.
- Verbindungsmodus festlegen: Für Akkubetrieb wählen Sie 2,4 GHz oder Bluetooth. Für den kabelgebundenen Betrieb steckt das USB-C-Kabel in der Tastatur.

Praxiseindrücke aus einem Wochentest
Die bislang ausführlichste unabhängige Erfahrung stammt von Tom’s Guide. Redakteur Anthony Spadafora nutzte die Q11 Ultra eine Woche lang als Haupttastatur und veröffentlichte seinen Testbericht am 30. Mai 2026. Er lobt die Freiheit, die Hälften eng oder weit auseinander zu stellen, die beiden anpassbaren Drehregler und Makrotasten, den 2,4-GHz-Dongle und das wertige Gefühl. Nach mehr als einer Woche im Alltag habe er die Tastatur nicht aufladen müssen.
Das ist die Erfahrung eines einzelnen Testers. Es handelt sich nicht um einen Labortest, und die Aussage sagt nichts über die Langzeitstabilität. Auch ein ergonomischer Vergleich ist darin nicht enthalten.

Vergleich mit günstigeren Split-Tastaturen
Tom’s Guide nennt als günstigere Alternative die Epomaker Split70 mit Bluetooth, 2,4 GHz und Kabelverbindung. Einen offiziellen ergonomischen Vergleich zwischen den beiden Modellen gibt es nicht. Wer vergleicht, sollte diese Punkte nebeneinanderlegen:
- Trennung und Positionierung der Hälften, einschließlich der Frage, ob sie kabellos oder per Kabel verbunden sind
- Gehäusewinkel, Bauhöhe vorne und hinten sowie Neigungsverstellung
- Platzbedarf und Gewicht
- Verbindungsmodi und Einsatzzweck der höchsten Polling-Rate
- Layout, Tastenzahl und Umschalten zwischen Systemen
- Schalterfeeling und Hot-Swap-Kompatibilität
- Akkulaufzeit unter vergleichbarer Beleuchtung und Polling-Einstellung

Für wen sich die Q11 Ultra 8K eignet
- Passt, wenn Ihr Schreibtisch die gewünschte Schulterbreite zulässt und die Tastatur dauerhaft an einem Platz bleibt.
- Passt, wenn Sie zwischen macOS, Windows und Linux wechseln und ein deutsches ISO-Layout wollen.

Ob die Split-Bauweise Ihre Beschwerden verringert, lässt sich nur durch eigene Erprobung klären. Vor dem Kauf lohnt sich ein Probeaufbau mit Schulterbreite, Tischhöhe und dem geplanten Keycap-Set.
