The Istanbul Economic Forum was scheduled for October 8–9, 2026, in Istanbul, with central-bank leaders and other officials expected to discuss inflation, monetary policy and wider economic challenges. Reuters reported the plans on October 5; because its report predates the event, the listed participants and broadcast remain expected rather than confirmed.

These are announced plans, not a verified attendance list. Reuters’ October 5 report said the attendance information came from the forum website compiled by Türkiye’s central bank; it does not establish who ultimately appeared.

When and where was the forum scheduled?

The Istanbul Economic Forum was scheduled for October 8–9, 2026, in Istanbul. Reuters’ report was published October 5, before those dates, and does not confirm that the forum took place as scheduled.

What was on the agenda?

The planned discussions ranged beyond interest rates and inflation, framing the meeting around how policymakers respond to uncertainty in a changing global economy.

  • Inflation and monetary policy: The core central-banking questions, including the economic outlook policymakers must consider when setting policy.
  • Fragmentation and uncertainty: The agenda included navigating a fragmenting global economy, a challenge that can complicate coordination across countries.
  • Debt dynamics: Participants were expected to discuss public and broader economic debt pressures as part of the policy outlook.
  • Artificial intelligence and digital innovation: The forum was also set to examine how technological change could affect macroeconomic policy.

The agenda indicates which issues organizers planned to bring together; Reuters did not report a joint position, policy announcement or agreed response from participants.

It therefore does not establish a working viewing link or confirmed access arrangements.
