What the KIR795MAU offers
Kambrook’s KIR795-series instruction booklet, issue A16, specifies a 2200 W iron with a 180 ml water tank and FabriGlide soleplate. Its controls and features include variable steam and temperature settings, a spray nozzle, a steam shot, anti-drip protection and self-cleaning. The manual also describes a collar tip designed to reach around buttons and collars.

The detachable tank
The 180 ml reservoir can be removed for filling. A retailer listing says it can be filled without a separate water cup. This is a convenience feature; available public information does not establish that it improves ironing results or performance.

Variable steam and temperature controls let you adjust the iron for different fabrics. The spray and steam-shot functions provide additional ways to apply moisture. The manual describes the anti-drip valve as closing when the soleplate is too cool to produce steam and opening again once it reaches the required temperature.

How the automatic shut-off works
The manufacturer’s manual specifies three-way auto-off timings for this model:
- 30 seconds if the iron is left flat on its soleplate.
- 30 seconds if it is accidentally tipped onto its side.
- Eight minutes if it is standing upright on its heel.
These are the manufacturer’s stated timings, not a substitute for supervision or safe handling.

Cleaning and storage
Using the self-clean function
The manual says the self-cleaning operation is intended to remove scale and impurities. Follow the booklet’s procedure and take care: boiling water and steam may escape through the soleplate during cleaning.

Putting the iron away
Unplug the iron, empty any remaining water and let it cool before storing it upright on its heel. The manual advises against leaving it horizontally on the soleplate, immersing it in water, or using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. For stubborn soleplate residue, it says commercial soleplate cleaners available through small-appliance retailers can be used.

What independent testing and owner reviews show
CHOICE listing
CHOICE has a listing for the KIR795MAU, but its Expert Rating, performance, ease-of-use, recommendation and other test-result fields are member-only. The public listing gives specifications including a stated 2200 W rating, a 1.1 kg weight, a 2.9 m cord, a one-year warranty and discontinued availability. It does not establish a public model-specific performance score, so there is no basis here to say the iron passed or failed CHOICE ironing tests.
Owner feedback
Appliances Online displays one review. That reviewer called the detachable tank gimmicky and criticized the soleplate’s smoothness compared with an older Tefal iron. ProductReview.com.au displays three reviews, with some positive comments about glide and value alongside an account of a failed steam button and leaking after a replacement. These are small, self-selected samples; they do not establish typical performance or a reliability rate.

Availability, warranty and specification discrepancies
Winning Appliances says the product is no longer available and lists a one-year manufacturer warranty. CHOICE and ProductReview.com.au also mark the model discontinued. These listings support describing it as discontinued or unavailable in the sources checked, but do not rule out residual or second-hand stock. Confirm that any listing is for the exact KIR795MAU model before buying; availability of another Kambrook iron is not evidence that this one is in stock.

If you cannot find a verified KIR795MAU listing, compare replacement models using the details that affect your own setup and routine:

Kambrook’s Steamline Advance KI735 is a separate iron, not a version of the KIR795MAU. Its official product page lists 2400 W, a 360 ml tank, a 2.5 m cord and a two-year warranty. Those specifications and warranty terms apply to the KI735 only.
