Using the iron safely
The booklet advises filling the iron while it is unplugged, keeping the water below the MAX mark, and selecting a temperature high enough for steam use. It explains that the steam valve stays closed when the soleplate is too cool and opens when it reaches a suitable temperature.
- Do not direct vertical steam at people.
- Do not use vertical steam on clothing while it is being worn.
- Check the appliance label and its matching manual for variant-specific instructions.
What to compare before buying a replacement
Because the KIR470BLU is discontinued, treat any listing as remaining stock and confirm the exact model number before purchase. Compare the features that affect your use rather than relying on wattage alone:

A documented Kambrook alternative: Steamline Advance KI735
Kambrook currently lists the Steamline Advance KI735 as a different iron, not as a confirmed successor to the KIR470BLU. Its official listing gives a 2400 W rating, 360 ml tank, FabriGlide soleplate, 2.5 m cord, anti-drip and self-clean features, variable temperature and a two-year warranty. The KI735’s larger stated tank and different soleplate make it a useful comparison point, but the published specifications alone do not prove better ironing results. Check current stock and compare the functions and warranty against your needs before choosing.
