What the JURA C9 is
Announced by JURA on 14 October 2025, the C9 sits in the company’s premium-economy range. It combines conventional stronger Hot Brew beverages with the lower-temperature Light Brew mode in a relatively small countertop body. The menu includes espresso, flat white, cortado and espresso macchiato among 17 speciality coffees.

The machine is designed for people who want bean-to-cup convenience without choosing between a traditional hot extraction and a lighter coffee that can be consumed as soon as it is dispensed. Light Brew uses JURA’s Light Extraction Process. It brews at approximately 60 °C and uses less coffee than the machine’s Hot Brew recipes. JURA describes the result as mild and aromatic, served at a pleasant temperature and ready to drink.

That distinction is more than a temperature setting. Hot Brew is intended for the stronger, more familiar flavour profile associated with conventional coffee extraction. Light Brew is a separate preparation style for a lighter cup and immediate drinking, so it is not simply a cooled-down version of an espresso or coffee.

A 2.8-inch colour display works with physical buttons for selecting drinks and changing settings. Optional JURA Wi‑Fi Connect adds smartphone control through the J.O.E. app; the wireless accessory is not required for normal operation.

The 230 V, 1450 W figure applies to the EA variant. Electrical specifications can differ for regional versions such as NAA, so buyers should verify the exact product code before ordering. The 1.6-litre tank, 200-gram hopper and grounds bin rated for about 16 servings indicate the refill cycle, but actual output depends on drink size, strength and milk use.

What you need for setup and daily use
- Confirm the regional model. Check voltage, plug, warranty coverage and local availability for the C9 version being sold.
- Fill the water tank and bean container. Use fresh water and beans, staying within the stated 1.6-litre and 200-gram capacities.
- Set the coffee profile. Choose one of the ten strength levels, seven grind-consistency levels and three temperature levels, then set the desired milk quantity for milk drinks.
- Select the brewing style. Choose Hot Brew for a stronger conventional cup or Light Brew for the approximately 60 °C, mild drink intended to be consumed immediately.
- Add connectivity only if useful. Install the optional Wi‑Fi Connect accessory and pair it with the J.O.E. app if smartphone control is wanted.
Filters, cleaning and consumables
The C9 has automatic filter detection and supports the CLARIS Smart+ filter cartridge. Its integrated rinsing, cleaning and descaling programmes guide the core maintenance tasks through the machine. The filter and cleaning cycles are part of ownership rather than optional extras: following the on-screen prompts helps protect the brewing system and maintain consistent results.
For milk drinks, JURA lists milk-system cleaner mini tabs supplied in a refillable 90 g bottle on a regional C9 page. Availability and packaging can vary by market, so the cleaner, CLARIS Smart+ cartridges and any replacement parts should be matched to the local C9 documentation.

- Whether the low-temperature drink is a separate extraction process or merely a cooled serving

- Grinder adjustment and brewing-unit dose range
- Water, bean and grounds capacities relative to household use
- Countertop footprint, weight and local voltage
- Filter, rinsing, cleaning and descaling workflow
- Availability and cost of app hardware and care products

Who should consider it
The C9 is a logical fit for households that alternate between stronger espresso-style drinks and a gentler coffee that can be picked up and consumed straight away. Its compact 26 cm width may also matter where counter space is limited. Buyers who need a different voltage, a larger hopper or a very high daily serving volume should compare the regional specification and capacities before committing.
